While the internet was on fire with theories about the aliens and whether or not it's a hoax.
Government officials across the world had decided to hold an emergency meeting regarding these alien visitors. It was important to dispel any fear in the hearts of the populace as that could turn into chaos and lawlessness.
So, in order to do that, they needed to come to a decision about what to do about these alien guests.
Cecil Stedman found himself within the halls of the useless United Nations building and was surrounded by equally useless government officials from all over the world.
The halls of the building were quite animated as everyone within its halls seemed to buzz with either excitement or fear and anxiety. Nobody would say it out loud, but there were hints of fear that were sent in the room. They did not know the true intentions of these aliens, and that was enough to make anyone uneasy and anxious.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I appreciate your ability to arrive at this meeting on such short notice. Now I'll give the floor to Cecil Stedman, Director of the Global Defense Agency, and he will inform us about these extraterrestrials"
The president of the General assembly for the UN announced before she sat down and let Cecil stand from his seat and begin to speak.
"Thank you, Ms Olenna Boeck. In the interest of efficiency, I won't bore you with a long-winded speech. The gist is this…"
Cecil began to divulge all the information necessary, he spoke of what the aliens told him, told them about how the Aliens referred to themselves as the Viltrumite Empire and how they came to earth to repopulate their population and hope to be granted a place to inhabit on the planet.
His words brought whispers to the mouths of all the officials present. Each could not help but be skeptical of the words Cecil spoke. However, the GDA Director was a man who could read the room.
"I see you do not believe my word, that's fair, however I directly spoke with their Emperor and recorded the conversation, if you would be willing to let me share this with everyone in the room with us"
He pulled out a USB drive out his inner pocket. He handed it to Donald, who sat beside him and had him plug it in on his pad, and then Donald distributed the recording to every pc that was available.
For a few minutes the room became quite as every country's representing watched the video, some people had to scramble a little bit to provide proper translations but overall everyone saw and understood what Cecil and Thragg spoke of
For most of them it was a surreal experience, hearing words spoken by an Alien, it brought a sense of discomfort but also profoundness, it told them that the universe was far more vast than they initially thought.
The existence of Martian man had caused quite a stir. However, that was just a single alien who accidentally arrived on earth. This was a whole species, and the scale was completely different.
The recording was not long, just barely over two minutes. However, those two minutes carried significant information and made everyone gain an understanding of the aliens.
"Excuse me, I can't help but notice that these aliens speak perfect English. Why is that?"
It was the Chinese representative, Mr Xe Qing, who raised a hand and asked the question, no matter how you look at it, it was too odd that an alien was speaking a human language.
"They said they monitored us for 21 days, I am assuming they have the technology to allow them to learn the language of any species they encounter"
Cecil answered the question. Honestly, that was just speculation on his part. The question regarding language had not occurred to him, and it was the least of his problems at the time.
"We can grill them about Language later, they said they are will to trade their space vessels to help us advance our space fairing technology, That is an incredibly lucrative opportunity for us, especially considering their existence makes apparent that Earth won't be left alone by other aliens"
The representative for the United States of America explained. He was seated right beside Cecil and Donald.
His words run true, getting alien. Space was an opportunity to reverse engineer the technology, and from that, a type of new age weapon could be made from that, weapons that can help defend a vulnerable earth.
It was an incredibly lucrative exchange, especially for Earth. However, while his words were true, letting aliens settle on earth and increase their population on earth comes with a great risk.
Infiltration and then taking over was a strategy that was fairly simple but incredibly effective if done right. No one wanted to risk something like that.
"That is understandable, and I can certainly see the advantages that may bring. However, we can not conclude that these aliens only plan to just repopulate. What is their plan afterward? No matter how beneficial the trade may be, we can not simply agree to it. Not to mention its possible we can not even reverse engineer their technology"
The Russian representative, Vasili Nikolai, was the one who spoke this time, saying something that had been at the back of the minds of everyone.
This was both an opportunity and also a great risk. They needed to be careful with what they allowed.
"I agree, however it's clear to all of us that if we assume these Aliens are not hostile, and they can appear so suddenly, does that not mean, hostile aliens can also do the same? Now that it's a possibility, we need to think about the safety of our world."
The representative from South Africa, Xolisa Vuyani, added her thoughts on the matter. The fact that aliens just showed up to their doorstep without anyone being able to issue a warning of them coming was unnerving, it meant that any alien race could do the same, meaning hostile aliens could show up and take over earth without even putting up a fight.
The discussion continued, with various sides disagreeing on what to do with the aliens. Cecil couldn't help but get comfortable in his chair. This was going to be a long discussion, and he was prepared for it.
It was lucky that for the time being, the Viltrumites were non-hostile, meaning there was no time limit, a few days of deliberation were fine, although he figured that they shouldn't keep the aliens waiting long
