Chapter 10 - Classes 1

That night, Elaine just laid on her bed staring at the ceiling, thinking about the game, she wondered why Allan always had weird things to say to her and she did nothing but always comply.

"I should have read it before dropping it" she said to herself.

"Did he know what was there?, that's not possible"

"Weird" she concluded.

Elaine almost flew out of her bed as the school's dorm alarm rang really loudly, which was intended to wake the students.

"God, why is this so loud" she said to herself covering her ear waiting for it to stop, but the abnormally loud alarm rang for two minutes straight.

She took everything she would need and headed to the girls bath house, when she was here yesterday, the bathhouse was almost empty, but now there were so many people there.

When she was done, she went back to her room and brought out her uniform, she was really excited to put it on, but then she thought,

"What if it isn't my size? No, that can't be possible".

Putting it on, it was just her size, she stood in front of the mirror and stared at her reflection, it was a green and black tartan patterned skirt that went above her knees, a white long sleeved shirt, a black jacket which had the school's badge on it and a black tie.

"I look stunning" she squealed.

She decided to tie her black straight hair in a high ponytail and applied edge control to prevent her baby hairs from moving everywhere, she applied a clear lipgloss to her pale pink lips, she took extra time getting ready as she believed that first impression mattered a lot.

Elaine waited for a while in her room, waiting for June, but she didn't show up as usual, so she went to the breakfast hall alone.

Getting there, she saw June sitting with Gwen at the table, June signaled Elaine to come over and sit with them.

"I saved a seat for you"

"Thanks" Elaine muttered sitting down

"I would have come to call you, but Gwen wanted to go straight to the dinning, so I had to follow her" June explained clearing Elaine's doubt a little.

"It's ok" she answered guarded and she didn't know why, was it beautiful of last night? She didn't know.

"Where were you last night?" June suddenly asked.

"Uh...?"

"After we split up, I didn't see you again, not even after the game ended"

"Um..., I got lost "

"Really! June said laughing. Elaine was confused, what was so funny about her getting lost.

"Sorry, June said without looking sorry, how did you find your way?"

"Someone helped me" Elaine said remembering Allan and his weird words.

It seemed as though Gwen wanted to say something, but changed her mind at the last minute.

"If I had known you weren't yet familiar with the way around, I wouldn't have decided we split.

"Like I didn't just come two days ago" Elaine said in her head but only smiled outwardly.

"No worries, next time we stick together" Elaine smiled but knew deep in her that there wouldn't be a next time.

"I'd be heading to class now" Gwen said with her aloof tone, already packing her things

"But there's still time before class starts " June said.

"I have some things to do" Gwen saidwalking away.

Elaine's eyes darted to the door in time to see Allan leaving with another guy with light brown hair.

She didn't know if it was just her overthinking or that Gwen always seemed to follow Allan at a distance, it also happened at the chapel.

"But that was just twice, she convinced herself, it can't possibly mean anything ".

"June, Elaine called, is there something going on between Gwen and Allan?" She asked making June pause for a while before laughing loudly, was her question that absurd that the girl sitting opposite them had to turn to look at her.

"What's so funny?" She asked feeling embarrassed

"Nothing, nothing it's funny, June answered calming down, apart from Gwen's one sided crush, i don't think there's anything more, like have you seen that guy?.

"So no?"

"No" June repated

They spent the rest of their breakfast talking about light weighted issues before the bell rang and it was time for class.
