Chapter 5 - weird & chapel 1

When Elaine laid down to sleep, she never planned to sleep for so long, right now it was very dark, she stood up from the bed and walked to where she dropped her boxes and started to unpack, she was done arranging her things in the wardrobe and decided to play games on her phone since she wasn't feeling sleepy, she went to her backpack which was on the study table, but it wasn't there, she looked around, but it wasn't anywhere in sight.

"Where is it?" She asked no one in particular, she searched her clothes, but she just finished unpacking, so there was no way it was in her boxes.

"Oh no, where did I keep it?" She asked breathing loudly, how would I call mom now? Did it fall down while we were walking?, she didn't know, she was still thinking where she lost it when the room suddenly went dark.

"What is going on?" She asked herself as the only light that came in was through the window, she walked to the light switch and pressed it, but nothing worked, she went to the window and looked out at the other buildings, but there was no light in any of the buildings.

"Is this a power outage?, HERBERT WILBUR having a power outage" she thought to herself mockingly.

"Good thing I brought a flashlight, and books to keep me busy" Elaine said picking up a book form the ones she had arranged neatly on the table.

Few minutes into the book, she began hearing sounds coming from outside the window, which made her turn her head to that direction.

"It's just the tress" she convinced herself, she tried to put all her concentration into the book and shrugg off the noise, but it seemed to be getting louder, Elaine stood up and walked towards the windows and made sure they were properly locked, she had closed the curtains and was about to walk back when she began hearing voices, she turned back and faced the windows, trying to pick up any word, but they were not making any sense just gibberish.

She walked back to the windows and pulled the curtains apart and carefully pushed the windows open, she looked through the window but couldn't see anyone, placing her hands on the window sill, she pushed the upper half of her body outside and tried to look below the trees since that was where the sound seemed to be coming from, but the room was high above the ground that her eyes couldn't reach, stepping back, she went to get her flashlight and pointed it in time to see a silhouette move quickly with the speed of light which made her stumble back.

"What was that?" She asked her heartbeat pounding loudly in her ears.

"Was that a person?" She didn't know but noticing the windows were still widely opened, she quickly shot up from where she was and rushed to close it and pulled the curtains together.

Elaine just sat down at the edge of the bed as she tried to calm her errant nerves.

"Would I be able to sleep tonight?"

"No I wouldn't" she answered herself.

She stood up and went to the bed and covered herself completely with the blanket as she held on to her flashlight tightly.

*******

Contrary to what she said, she slept peacefully until she heard a persistent knock on the door which woke her up.

Sitting up, she hesitated to open the door as she didn't know who could be knocking at her room door.

"I'm coming"! She yelled as the knock continued, opening the door, Elaine was welcomed with two beautiful faces, one who had brown hair and the other abnormally white.

"Hi the one with the brown hair greeted with a smile on her face, sorry to disturb you , but we noticed you yesterday, you're new right?

"Yes Elaine answered with a small voice feeling flustered, not understanding what that had to do with them standing at the front of her door.

" You may not know, but today is Sunday, sh paused, there would be a morning mass prayer by five 0' clock Am, so most students are already heading out to bathhouse" the brown haired girl informed.

"Morning mass" I repeated

"Yes, oh! Sorry, we forgot to introduce ourselves, I'm June Bradford, this is my room mate Gwendolyn Davids.

"I'm Elaine Randolph"

"Such a pretty name" she yellled with a bright smile on her face which was a total contrast to her roommates Express which was bored and aloof.

"Our room is the first one at the next corridor by the left, we'll be back in an hour, bye.

"Bye" Elaine said closing the door.

"What was that" she asked herself with a smile filled with disbelief.

It was exactly one hour when she heard the knock on the door, already guessing who it was, she opened the door to the smiley face of June and Gwendolyn's poker face.

"Are you ready?" June asked

"Yes"

"Then let's go" Jun said as I stepped out and locked the door, I turned to look at june in time to notice Gwendolyn looking at the key in my hand, I also looked at the key in my hands and looked back at Gwendolyn.

"Let's go"! June yelled as she was ahead of us.
