(Keiran's POV)
All the heads that stood upright bent down in an instant when I entered the basement of my guest house that was located far from the city. To the outside world, it was just a guest house, but in reality, it was a torture chamber. The one that always kept me entertained.
"Boss!" Everyone greeted in unison as a gesture of respect. Being a CEO of Wolfe Enterprises was what the world knew about me and my family, but the real Wolfes were the people with guns. The people whose mafia clan "Wolfes" was scared by all other gangsters out there.
"The shipment has left for Italy. From there, Mr. Virelli will take care of it." Alex informed me while we walked to one of the chambers in the basement.
He was the only person who knew almost everything about me, including my ties with the mafia. His family had been with us since our grandparents' days. They had been loyal to us. His grandfather even took a bullet for my grandparents.
"What about our newly constructed hotel in China?"
"It is running successfully. There's nothing to worry about."
I nodded. We both then stopped at the chamber where he was tied to the chains, beaten up continuously for days.
When I entered, my men arranged a couch for me. I sat on it, taking out my cigarette from the case.
"Please, Mr. Wolfe…" A faint voice echoed, which made me look at the half-dead man. "Leave me. I will never step into this city again."
"You should've stopped it when I warned you the first time." I leaned forward to look into his teary eyes. "How could you even think of getting a private dance from her, Quinn?"
It was so foolish of him to think I'd let him go. Everything of hers belonged to me. How could he even have an eye on someone who belonged to me?
"I am really so sorry. I didn't know she meant so much to you."
Did she? I had no idea. I couldn't understand what she meant to me or how much she meant for me. All I knew was no one would live after harassing her.
I blew the smoke onto his face that was red because of his blood. His arms were twisted, his legs were broken, and he was almost disfigured. He lost his energy, and he was barely alive. My men had been torturing him for weeks. Death was the greatest gift I gave to anyone.
"Please…"
I extended my arm, and Alex gave me my gun, which I pointed to his head.
Fear flickered in his eyes for a moment, but it got replaced with a relaxed smile. He knew better to die than spend some more days in my torture chamber.
"Any last words?"
"Thank you…" He finally looked into my eyes, "…for finally relieving me from this pain."
The bullet penetrated his head, and his body fell to the ground. I dropped the gun and went to my room to get the shower. As the hot water dripped down my body, relaxing my muscles, her face flashed in my mind.
The obsession started to get to my head, which made me restless and confused. I never experienced such a thing, and it started to scare me, which was not good for either of us. And to erase the fear, I had to keep her until I reached the satisfaction that I needed and whatever emotions I felt for her faded.
When I reached the hall, Alex was already waiting for me with the interviewer who took Elira's interview. He was shivering in fear, and as soon as he saw me, he knelt before me, begging, "I only followed your orders…"
I cut him off. "I never told you to insult her."
I was watching them through the cameras. Not just the school, even the government couldn't stop me if I wanted to lay my eyes on something.
"Now, choose." My eyes darkened as I looked at him furiously, "The tongue that insulted her or the eyes that watched her with lust."
"No… please… I have kids. I can't die. I want to watch them grow…"
"Tongue it is." I shouted.
"I didn't mean that…" He tried to speak but couldn't finish the sentence as my men cut his tongue off.
He growled in pain, and tears streamed down his cheeks.
"Now, if you want to live peacefully with your family, leave this city. If I see you again, it's going to be your family next."
My men dragged him away upon my order. Then I fell on the couch, noticing Alex's questionable face.
"If you want to ask something, go ahead."
He hesitated for a second but then asked, "She would've easily signed the contract if she fell on roads. Why did you save her when it was you who bribed the houseowner in the first place?"
"Because she should know that not just the ugly math teacher is a good person here." A smirk appeared on my lips. "By now, she must be thinking about me and wondering how good of a person I am to save her without expecting anything in return."
Then I looked at Alex, asking, "I am really a good person, aren't I? I gave her a shelter instead of forcing her to sign. It's rare to find such good people like me these days."
Alex didn't reply but only nodded his head. He then walked away to let me rest, but it was the last thing that entered my head when all my thoughts were consumed by her, and I mumbled, "Elira!" Enjoy your time. Once you sign the contract, there's no way out for you."
