Jeonne woke up in a river. In an instant, memories from his past days in this world flooded back, and he remembered everything.
Jeonne: "What the hell is happening?"
"I've got to find a way to remember! This is what's been bugging me!"
He then heard birds chirping. He paused and realized he might be in the same place where a monster once chased him. Jeonne looked around carefully, staying alert. But after seeing the beautiful forest and the calm, peaceful atmosphere, it didn't seem like there was any danger.
He walked toward a pond and washed his face. As he did, he accidentally touched the wound on his forehead from his last fight. He had been hit so hard by Lance that he completely forgot about it.
Jeonne: "Where did I get this wound? The last time I was here, I was with Kana... and then, I don't remember."
Jeonne: "There must be something I can use here. I should consider the possibility of player stats or something..."
He suddenly stopped.
Jeonne: "S-Stats!"
He shouted the word, hoping something would show up—but nothing happened. Then, he remembered the words "system notice" from the first time he came to this world.
Jeonne: "System!"
Suddenly, a floating digital screen appeared in front of him. At the same time, a second screen popped up beside it. Jeonne tried to touch one, but his hand just passed through it.

"Hollowthorn?" What kind of name is that? There's no description of my power."
Jeonne pressed his inventory, curious what it was. And then, another window that contained one item that's called, Dreamer Safety Anchor.

"Oh, that's why I appeared in that alley. Oh, shit I only have one use, and it's expiring."
"Whatever, I need to know about my power so I can defend myself. How do I activate it?"
Jeonne tried to recreate what happened. He started making random stances, letting out strange battle groans, and flailing his arms like some warrior in a low-budget play.
Meanwhile, hidden behind the trees, an old man was watching him in silence.
Old Man: "Is he crazy?"
Just then, the old man accidentally stepped on a dry leaf, the crunch echoing in the quiet woods.
Jeonne spun around, eyes wide. He spotted the old man—and froze. Out of sheer embarrassment, he shouted, "Nooo! It's not what it looks like!"
The old man's eyes widened. He turned and bolted without hesitation.
Jeonne , panicking, ran after him. "Wait! Please stop! I have questions!"
Old Man: "NO! Stay away from me, you lunatic!"
The old man wasn't very fast, and Jeonne quickly caught up. From his point of view, Jeonne looked like some weirdo doing interpretive martial arts in the forest, now chasing him like a maniac.
Old Man: "Oh, shit—"
He let out a terrified scream as Jeonne lunged forward to stop him.

After clearing the misunderstanding...
Jeonne: "So, old man... why'd you run from me?"
Walter: "I don't know. You chased me like some kind of predator."
Jeonne: "What? W–what you saw back there, I was just stretching! I only wanted to ask questions. I'm lost!"
Walter: "Oh. You should've said so. I can help. What's your name?"
Jeonne: "Bro! You didn't let me talk. I'm Jeonne . You?"
Walter: "Walter. So why were you even out here?
Jeonne: "I was just walking to get some fresh air... then I got lost."
Walter: "What? What kind of idiot gets lost just by walking?"
Jeonne: "...What did you just say?"
Walter: "We've got a village nearby. Come with me—we're having a party. Also, I'm not an old man.
I'm only 59."
Jeonne: "Bitch, that's old!"
Walter: "Bitch? What is 'bitch'?"
Jeonne: "Never mind that. Thanks, though. By the way, why were you here in the woods?"
Walter: "I was collecting mushrooms for cooking."
Jeonne: "Did you get some?"
Walter: "Oh yeah. Got plenty in my bag..."
[A Night in the village]
The village was having a feast—a big celebration where everyone was bonding and laughing together. Even though it was night, the whole place was lit up with warm lights and the atmosphere was full of life.
When Jeonne arrived, the village folk welcomed him warmly, even though he was a stranger. Walter introduced him as a friend, and that was all they needed to hear.
"Come, join us!" someone shouted as they pulled Jeonne toward a long table crowded with people. The table was filled with food—delicious-looking dishes that gave off a magical smell strong enough to make anyone hungry.
Man 1: "Jeonne , eat!"
Jeonne: "Uh... I'm full."
Right on cue, Jeonne 's stomach let out a loud growl. Everyone laughed.
Embarrassed, Jeonne gave in and started eating. He grabbed some chicken and side dishes, and the first bite made his eyes widen. It was really good.
As the feast went on, Jeonne felt like part of the family. People treated him like he had always lived there. He smiled, laughed, and enjoyed every moment.
Later, everyone gathered around a campfire. Drinks were passed around, and Jeonne found himself laughing with the others as they shared funny stories from their lives.
The village was alive—people dancing, talking, living. A bard played music in the background, adding to the perfect mood.
And then, a cute little monster went near Jeonne . Jeonne was startled and everyone laughed at him.
Jeonne: "What is that?"
Man 1: "That's a snivel. A cute animal that wants pets. Try to pet him, he's asking for it."
Jeonne [internal monologue]: "Snivel? Aren't they just cats, but with rainbow tails?"
Jeonne slowly reaches his hands to pet a snivel, and then it licked him. He realized that it was really just like cats. Without his attention, Jeonne 's chicken was stolen by the snivel and it ran away.
Jeonne: "No! You little shit! He stole my chicken!"
Everyone laughed at him.
[Cinematic scene: the fire crackles, laughter echoes, and Jeonne leans back, smiling. For the first time in a long while, he was truly living.]
The party ended with a peaceful night. People slept outside like one big family. A kind woman named Sheila brought out blankets and pillows, handing them to anyone lying on tables, chairs, sidewalks—even straight on the ground. It was the kind of place that made you feel like you belonged.
The village was quiet now. Just the sound of crickets and soft breathing.
[Tomorrow]
Jeonne woke up slowly, blinking a few times. His vision was still hazy.
Then—darkness.
He remembered something.
A pair of eyes... staring in a dark room.
He sat up fast. "Wait—school!" he muttered, heart suddenly racing.
He looked around.
This wasn't his bedroom.
It wasn't even his house.
Panic started to creep in.
Jeonne: "Don't tell me—"
He pushed the flap of the tent open.
And froze.
He was still in that world.
The village. The forest. The sky. It was all still here.
The party might've ended... but the dream didn't.
Jeonne stood in silence, staring at the strange world around him.
The weight of it all sank in.
Living two lives.
Two worlds.
And the scary thought that... maybe he wouldn't get back.
Jeonne: "Oh, shit."
