Chapter 10 - NICO'S POV IN THE OTHER WORLD LAST PART

"It's been a week since I came here. Now, I'll do what I want to do. I'll do the right thing. To free the slaves!"

Nico went to the slave market. He was confident about his plan, but the moment he stood in front of the place, he froze. Doubts flooded his mind, and he lost his composure.

Nico: "What am I doing? I can't... I'm not Jeonne. I'm not him..."

Nico Dunebarren gave up. He turned away from his plan—until he saw a man riding a caravan, using a slave as his horse. The slave was a Black man dressed in a white robe. Although his clothes looked clean and it seemed like he was being taken care of, he was frail.

The man raised a vertigo (you may want to clarify what this weapon is), ready to strike.Man: "Move, you filth!"

Even so, the slave kept walking—trembling, but still resisting—afraid of the pain that weapon might bring.

That scene rekindled Nico's will to free the slaves using his power. It reminded him why he was there in the first place. Jeonne's heroic ideals opened his eyes again. Now, he didn't just want to watch the knight in shining armor—he wanted to stand beside him and fight.

Nico stepped into the market. He walked straight to the owner.

Nico: "H-how many slaves do you have?"

Shop Owner: "Seventy-two? Why?"

Nico: "Y-you'll let me have them all. For free."

Shop Owner: "What? No! Why would I—"

Nico: "You'll let me have them. For free. And you'll tell no one."

Nico's yes glowed orange—and the shop owner's did too. Nico's sigil activated, taking over the man's mind. His ring pulsed a faint red glow, unnoticed.

The owner led Nico to all the slaves. But Nico soon discovered it wasn't just humans—there were also animalia, humanoid beasts, imprisoned alongside them. One by one, they all escaped.

Nico then asked the owner if there was a secret passage where the slaves could flee. The owner answered, "Yes."

He led Nico to a narrow underground tunnel, one that would take them to a place untouched by the Majestus—hidden, and invisible to their radar.

And then suddenly, two men entered the room. They were warriors. Due to the unprecedented event, Nico panicked. However, he calmed down when he remembered that he had the power to control the will of people.

Guy 1: "Hey! Who the fuck are you? Where are the slaves?"

Guy 2 didn't hesitate to approach and attack Nico with his talon. Nico immediately activated his sigil to him saying "You! Protect me!"

Guy 2 stopped, and then he attacked Guy 1.

Guy 1: "What the fuck are you doing?"

Both men fought, but Warrior had a sigil that gives him the power to replicate himself. His doubles subdued his ally.

Nico activated his sigil to Guy 1. However, it didn't work.

Guy 1: "I see. You have the power to control minds. That's cool. However, you're going to die now."

Nico panicked. He called the one who controlled, "PROTECT ME!"

The subdued warrior woke up. The intensity of the effects on him increased, he raged as his physical capability surpassed beyond limits, he performed a quick step and managed to block Guy 1's attack before it could hit Nico.

Guy 1 activatd his sigil. He create a double of himself. However, the effect of Nico's sigil on the second man, affected the physical capabilities of the second man, giving him boosted strength just to protect Nico.

Both of these man fought, but ultimately, the second guy won.

NIco was relieved that everything was over. He says, "Good thing I know now that my sigil don't work on sigil users."

[Tomorrow]

News spread like wildfire. There was an incident at the slave market—seventy-eight slaves were freed.

At the same time, Lord Nico Dunebarren was nowhere to be found. Norlan Smith had been keeping an eye on him, but Nico had vanished without a trace. This made Lord Nico the prime suspect.

Norlan Smith immediately dispatched his team to capture Lord Dunebarren.

[Street]

Not long after, royal knights confronted him.Norlan: "You're a spy for Imperius. From now on, you'll answer as an Imperius soldier."

Lord Nico Dunebarren: "What? This is ridiculous! What proof do you have? Norlan, I trusted you."

Norlan: "You're just too gullible."

As Norlan raised his weapon to strike, a mysterious robed man suddenly reached out toward Nico. In an instant, he activated an ability that caused them both to vanish—teleporting Nico to safety and saving his life.

Nico Dunebarren suddenly found himself teleported away. He appeared mid-air, five stories up, before crashing onto the roof of a food market, his fall cushioned by the canopy of rugs below.

Extravagant was nearby. They were walking together, and then heard a commotion a few meters away from them. They went there. The commotion was chaos. A man with godlike facial features and physique was covered in tomato sauce and a store was ruined.

After recovering from the fall, Nico stood up. People's gaze were on him, admiring his flawless look. Among the crowd, Jeonne was visible. Nico saw him, but thought it was just his imagination. He rubbed his eyes, hoping that his eye wasn't playing tricks on him, but there he saw, it was actually Jeonne.

Nico Dunebarren called him.Nico: "Holy shit! Jeonne!"

Jeonne: "What? Who the hell are you?"

Vria: "Do you know that guy?"

Jeonne: "No?"

Nico: "Jeonne, it's me! Nico! Your school mate!

Jeonne: "WHAT!?"

[The Golden Hall of Majestus]

The sound of footsteps echoed across the vast golden hall—measured, deliberate, heavy with presence. Columns of gilded marble stretched toward the heavens, etched with the history of conquests and crowned rulers. The floor reflected the chandeliers above like a still lake of light.

And through this corridor of splendor walked the Supreme Cavalry.

His cape flowed behind him like ink spilling across gold. Every step seemed in tune with the ominous, elegant melody that followed him like a shadow—slow strings, a piano's chilling hum, and a faint choir that whispered power and danger. His face was unreadable, posture perfect, and gaze colder than obsidian.

He stopped at the end of the hall—only to face a dead end.

Unbothered, the Supreme Cavalry raised a gloved hand. Without hesitation, he pressed his palm forward. The wall, solid to all others, rippled like disturbed water, and his hand passed through. A second later, his entire body followed, vanishing from the golden chamber as if it had never held him at all.

[Mountain Grasslands – Overlooking the Ocean]

He emerged into a wide grassland atop a mountain peak. Before him, the sea stretched to the horizon, glittering beneath the late sun. Behind him, jagged canyons framed the scene like the teeth of a sleeping beast.

There stood King Julius, alone at the cliff's edge, wind brushing against his royal cloak as he faced the vast ocean. He didn't turn. He didn't need to.

The Supreme Cavalry walked forward slowly. The breeze tugged lightly at his uniform, carrying the scent of salt, soil, and silence. He said nothing—but his presence rippled through the air like thunder cloaked in velvet.

He stopped a few paces behind the king.

Supreme Cavalry: "My lord, I have something to tell you."

King Julius remained still. The waves roared in the distance, but between the two, there was only silence—until the king finally spoke.

King Julius (softly): "Do you ever wonder why the weak suffer?"

The Supreme Cavalry didn't answer. He knew better.

King Julius (calmly): "Because they serve a purpose. Their suffering sustains the strong. It is the law of selection. Everyone is born into a role. Some will rise, others will kneel. The wise... rewrite their roles. The rest remain in chains."

He took a slow breath.

King Julius: "But with my reign—no one will be weak. No one will starve.

I look at this world, fractured and foolish, and I want to cry. War. Crime. Corruption. Theft. History repeats because humans refuse to evolve.

But under my rule... that cycle ends."

He turned his head slightly, just enough to let his voice drift back.

King Julius: "What news do you bring?"

Supreme Cavalry: "Rokhan may soon act recklessly. His thirst for combat outweighs his loyalty to the Blades. I propose we use him. He can be the wolf in your Grand Plan."

King Julius chuckled softly.

King Julius (smirking slightly): "Then all that's left... is to let the storm believe it chose where to strike."

He paused, voice calm, yet cold as steel.

He turned back to the horizon, the ocean roaring before him.

King Julius (quietly): "Some pieces move freely. Others move loud. But all of them move where I've placed them."
