Chapter 21 - CHAPTER 21

Christian's pov:

An hour or so passed, and I finally made it to the city. There weren't any zombies around that I could spot, and Perry wasn't awake.. I should wake that girl up.. But maybe I'll also rest for a bit?

But even though I want to, we should probably get going as soon as possible. So I guess I'll wake her up. I turned back, just to see the trunk window. There was. . . Blood? But no zombies?

"Hey— shitty face, wake up." I saw her groan and roll around before getting up.

"What? Mphhn…" She groaned softly in her sleep.

"We've made it across the bridge. You gotta drive again. I haven't been around this part of Seoul much." I stated. She looked annoyed, but either way got out of the car, so did I. We exchanged seats and this time I sat in the passenger seat. Once we started driving again she pulled into alot of rights and lefts I couldn't keep track of.

I decided all I could do is trust this half asleep idiot.

Perry's pov:

I started driving, and I was pretty familiar with this part of Seoul so it shouldn't be too hard getting into a street I'm familiar with, thus, finding the road that I used to live in.

Infact, it was a bit too easy. A few left and right turns before I found the street. Though, one little problem. I don't remember which building I used to live in. He's going to be pissed as heck.

Christian and I exited the car, and we started to look through the buildings from the outside. He turned to me.

"By the way, they wrote which floor they're on. Floor 38." He explained it to me, unusually calm. I nodded softly. I sighed though, I guess I should tell him.

"There's a little problem though... I don't remember which building I used to live in" I confessed, slightly awkwardly.

"What?! How are we supposed to find it then?!?" He complained, and I couldn't argue with that.

"There's absolutely no way I'm searching through all of these buildings. Ruby is my best friend but seriously?" He commented, which, well there was not much choice.

"Well, unless you have a better idea than that, let's go." I replied.

He didn't object, so we approached the first building with our equipment. Which was, a bat I had and Christian took a pocket knife.

We entered the building, there weren't many sounds but there were zombies. And quite a few.

But, Christian probably saw them, considering he groaned particularly loudly

"Ughh. ." I instantly covered his mouth, and he was probably cursing under my hand, because I could hear muffled words.

"Shut up, there's zombies over there." I whispered to him, still keeping an eye on the zombies like 20 feet away from us. But when I said that, he started being even louder, and I pointed at them, his eyes widening, and I finally let go of his mouth.

"Is it really that hard to keep quiet?!" I snapped. But instead he stabbed something. . Oh. There was a zombie behind me. He was trying to warn me. That's embarassing. "Oh. Thanks." He sighed, and nodded after rolling his eyes. We continued through the ground floor, and found the elevator.

We awkwardly stood in the elevator for around a minute, before realizing none of us had pressed the floor button. We were just standing there. I pressed 38, and another minute passed before we got up to floor 38.

We cautiously exit the elevator. There were 10 rooms on one floor, so I guess ten rooms to search. Christian took the lead, and started to walk towards room 380. The apartment was pretty small, so it was easy to search. The only useful thing we found was two water bottles, a thermal jacket and gum. Which had expired.

We exited room 1, and Christian and I were arguing because I threw away the gum. Did he really want to eat that stuff, or was he using it as an excuse to argue with me? I wouldn't doubt it's the latter.

"It didn't have fungus, did it??" He complained.

"Who knows, maybe I just saved you from getting sick!"

I fought back. We kept walking, while arguing. Which was a mistake. Christian bumped into something, and we both went silent.

"ACK!—" He let out, rubbing his face. It was a zombie, and it noticed. It started its attack on Christian, but I pulled him back, then beat the zombie with my bat.

"We're even." he hissed quietly. We continued searching the rooms, but nothing. The most helpful thing we've found so far was just water, and I guess expired gum.

A few rooms later, we were in the last room. Room 10. It was an odd room though. It was completely trashed. Blood splashed everywhere, water spills, a door broken, couch cushions scattered everywhere with blood on them. But it seemed that Christan noticed something. A shoe. . ?

He picked it up and checked the shoe size.

"Hey— Hey. Don't mess with me. This is Ruby's shoe, it's her shoe size, too." He spoke up, holding a light pink shoe to his face, examining it.

"Are you being serious?" I asked.

"Well, I'm not joking for sure!" He hissed back. I guess that's true. Wait. So— is Ruby here? Or are they baiting us to check the whole building to waste our time?. . This is conflicting. I sighed.

"Let's just get this over with and move to the other building."

He nodded reluctantly. But although I wanted to check the whole building, it'd be a waste of time, considering the fact she was taken away on the other side of Seoul.

We exit the room making our way out. But, a bunch of zombies were already on the other side of the area.

We were so focused on the zombies, we didn't even notice the emergency stairs until we fell down from there. Christian stumbled backwards. Making me fall back, since I was at the very edge. Christian landed on top of me, and I was grunting. This man was heavy as heck.

"What the hell? Look where you step, idiot! That was so loud!" I spoke, trying to keep my voice down, but still angrily.

"Get off me." He complained irritatedly. Could he be any more idiotic?

"You're on top of me, idiot!" I scowled. He got off of me, and I could swear I broke my back from that fall. Whatever the case, we didn't start to argue quite yet, quietly making our way back up the stairs. We stepped into the elevator. When we finally got out of there, and into the elevator, he scowled at me.

Seriously?

I couldn't contain it anymore. He was getting on my nerves. I snapped.

"What are you giving me that look for?" I hissed.

"It's all your fault we fell!" He scoffed, his tone irritated like always.

"Huh? How is it my fault??" I really can't take this Christian anymore. He's more brainless than a zombie.

"You were the one Infront, you fell first!" He kept complaining, not even trying to suppress his anger. Unlike one of us here.

"Well that should've made you more aware that there were stairs in front of you!"

I had a good point, but he would've been too blind to notice the stairs even if he was Infront.

"It's not my fau—" I shut him up, covering his mouth with my hand. I turned his head to the crowd of zombies which were lumping brainlessly towards us. We were making quite the scene, especially on open land.

"Oh shoot. We're done for. ."
