Here's Chapter 0: Prologue for Godslayer: Return of the Forgotten.
The air was thick with ash, and everything smelled like burnt victory.
Seth Chrono stood at the edge of a god's corpse—its body still radiating heat, even as it crumbled into black dust. Towering horns cracked. Wings folded like broken glass. What was once the Demon God, destroyer of realms, now lay dead at his feet.
He exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck.
"You know… for a literal apocalypse God, you scream like a goat."
There was no one left to laugh at the joke.
Not that it mattered. Seth laughed for himself. He always had.
It had taken him nearly a year in this world. A year of battles, broken bones, and close calls. A year of blood and gods and monsters. He was summoned as a "saviour" by the divine themselves—given a system, trained by mortals, abandoned in a battlefield, and told:
"Kill the Demon God, and we'll send you home."
Seth had asked one question.
"Do I still get Wi-Fi when I'm back?"
They didn't laugh.
He didn't forget.
Now it was over. He had won. He should be going home.
So when the sky above shimmered and opened like a veil of light, and the God of Resurrection stepped down onto the battlefield with flowing robes and glowing hands, Seth wasn't surprised.
Not yet.
"Well done, saviour," the god said, voice rich and warm like honey. "You have saved us all. Now, as promised, I shall return your soul back."
Seth tilted his head. "Finally. I've been dying to take a hot shower without being set on fire halfway through."
The god smiled.
"But... your memories will not come with you."
Silence.
The wind blew dust across the Demon God's bones.
Seth blinked slowly. Then scratched his cheek.
"I'm sorry, could you run that part by me again? The 'but' part? The part that sounds like BS?"
The god's smile didn't fade. He gestured gently, as if explaining a kindness.
"A soul soaked in divinity cannot return whole. Your deeds will remain in this world, but your mind—your experiences—must be erased. It is a necessary mercy."
Seth looked at him. Looked down at his own hands. Looked at the system prompt still hovering quietly in the air beside him.
Then looked back.
He laughed once.
Just once.
"You guys are the worst customer support I've ever seen."
The god of Resurrection tilted his head, puzzled. "You misunderstand. This is not cruelty. This is balance."
"No. It's manipulation."
Seth's voice was quieter now. Still calm. But no longer soft.
He stepped forward.
"You used me to kill something you couldn't. You dangled 'home' like a treat on a stick. And now that I've done it, you want to gut me clean of memory so I never become a threat."
He summoned his blade. It crackled with residual godfire—the final breath of the Demon God still clinging to its edge.
"Sorry. I'm not the 'reset' type."
The Resurrection God frowned. For the first time, light flickered in his expression.
"You would defy me?"
"Nah," Seth said, smiling.
"I'd kill you."
The clash wasn't long.
Seth moved like a storm. The Demon God's power still burned in his soul. And now that he saw through the divine veil—saw how gods feared humans like him—the strike was easier than expected.
The god bled light.
And when he fell, the Divine Chain of Resurrection unraveled into the air… and wrapped around Seth's arm.
Two chains now.
Two domains.
One man.

He looked up.
"So… who's next?"
