Chapter 29 - MEETING GOD

After losing consciousness, Lucas slowly opened his eyes. But when he did, he realized he was no longer in Rosalie's room or laying on her bed.

Instead, he stood in a vast, endless space as far as his eyes can see. The ground beneath him shimmered like glass, perfectly reflecting his figure wherever he looked and in front of him, suspended in the void, floated a radiant miniature sun made of crystal. Its glow was soft yet brilliant, bathing everything in golden light—warm and alive, like the real sun itself.

Lucas's heart quickened."Where the hell am I? What is this place? Wasn't I just with Rosalie? How did I get here? What happened when I lost consciousness?" he said as his voice trembled, fear pressing against his chest as thoughts of Rosalie filled his mind.

"Hello, Lucas Brightsun."Someone said, the voice was sudden, deep yet gentle, echoing like it came from every direction to which Lucas froze but strangely, instead of fear, a calmness spread over him.

He spun around but saw no one."I am here, my child."as he hear the voice coming from behind, turning back, his breath caught. Before him now stood an elderly man, leaning on a cane, but to his shock this was no ordinary old man as his body radiated divine brilliance, a light so pure and overwhelming that even the miniature sun nearby seemed dim in comparison.

Lucas should have been terrified, yet the man's presence soothed him instead. The light around him carried no malice, only peace.

Lucas asked"W-Who are you, sir?", his voice quiet but respectful.

The old man smiled knowingly, his voice carrying a weight that shook the vast emptiness."Well… forgive me for the late introduction. I am God, the one who sent you into this world."

Lucas's eyes widened as he hears those words, his mind reeling."God…? Then… did I die again? What about Rosalie—"

Before his thoughts could spiral further, the God gently raised a hand, silencing him with nothing more than presence."My child, you are not dead. You merely lost consciousness while your body was evolving. What you see now is the space of your own consciousness."as he said.

Relief washed over Lucas. His shoulders, once tense, eased slightly. Still, questions lingered."If that's true, God… why are you here?"as he asked him.

God's expression softened into a smile.

"I wished to meet you personally… and to give you a small gift. A reward for the choice you made, to sacrifice your Sun Breathing for love. But do not mistake this as a loss. With your Transparent World and Demon Slayer Mark, creating something anew is never beyond you."

Lucas lowered his gaze, "A gift? But God… you've already given me the greatest one. This new life. And Rosalie… her love. That's more than enough. I don't need anything else."as he said while shaking his head.

God chuckled warmly not correcting him about Rosalie becoming his mate was just a coincidence and the world he was in is not the original one."You speak with humility, but let me tell you something, Lucas. You were not the only one given a second chance. Many souls stood where you stand now."

Lucas frowned "What do you mean? Not alone?" as he asked in confusion.

"There were many souls like yours," God explained, his voice carrying a weight of truth, "souls with no karma(no virtue, no sin). Neither heaven nor hell could claim them. So, I spun the wheel of fate, granting powers and worlds at random and that is how you were chosen ."

Lucas fell silent as he heard. His past life flashed in his thoughts—days of endless work, making money for rent and food, never doing anything truly good or evil. Just… existing. He smiled faintly while thinking about his past life."Even so, this alone is enough. I don't need more."as he said to God

To which God's laughter echoed, kind and gentle."Haha… I knew you would say that. Truth be told, I was teasing you about the gift. I simply grew curious and wanted to visit the souls I had reincarnated. Watching you all live… it amuses me."

Lucas blinked, caught off guard."Oh… so this was a joke?" He scratched the back of his neck, unsure whether to laugh or not.

God's smile lingered as his eyes glimmered with deeper knowledge."Lucas… do you want to know why you lost consciousness?"as if knowing what he will ask.

Lucas tilted his head. "Yes… I was wondering."as he said with uncertain.

"You were a lucky soul," God said. "When I spun the wheel for your powers, it landed between two choices or should I say characters. So I… blended them."

Lucas's curiosity burned."Two characters? Who…?"he asked about another character as he already know the one.

God's light shone brighter, his voice filled with divine certainty."The first, you already know—Yoriichi Tsugikuni. The second was Itsuka Kotori from Date A Live. I merged their essence take the power of Yoriichi and the race of Kotori, and so you became a Spirit, the Spirit of the Sun. When this power awakens, you will no longer age. Rosalie will never need to fear losing you to time. And when her venom entered your body, it awakened this spirit power to expel the unknown substance, triggering your evolution."

Lucas stood frozen, stunned by the revelation. Slowly, a smile crept across his face "Thank you… God. Truly."as he lowered his head respectfully.

God's form began to fade, his voice echoing one last time."My time is short. Other souls await judgment. But remember this—you are the only one among them who was given a safe world… and a power too great for it. Cherish your life, Lucas Brightsun. And protect the love you've found."as he gently smile at him and then he was gone, light dissolving into the void.

Lucas's eyes drifted back to where God was standing for some time and then to the miniature sun still glowing ahead of him.

Drawn by instinct, he stepped forward and slowly raised his hands both hand to hold, holding it in his palm he pressed the shining mini against his chest. The instant it touched him, golden light consumed his body. His vision blurred, consciousness slipping away once more.
