Chapter 11 - MEET

With only five minutes left before lunch ended, the cafeteria's noise was starting to fade as students began to leave.

"Well… looks like we've got five minutes before lunch is over," Lucas said softly looking at the clock on the wall, his voice tinged with a reluctant note.

Rosalie's amber eyes met his briefly before she replied in an oddly restrained tone, "Yeah… I know."

Reluctantly letting go of his hand and feeling his warmth gone, she stood up. "We'll meet after school," she said, her voice calm but carrying an undertone that made Lucas want to hold on longer. She turned and began walking toward her family's table while glancing back at him with almost reluctant step like she didn't want to go.

"Sure," he said with a warm smile, deliberately ignoring the stares from the tables around them.

As soon as Rosalie sat down, Alice leaned forward with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Sooo… when's the wedding?" she teased, her smile playful.

Rosalie merely smiled back, the corner of her lips curving in silent amusement.

"That was… very, very, very fast, Rose," Lisa said with a bright smile.

Emmett chuckled. "Well, the guy's clearly straightforward, and I respect him" he said, his deep laugh echoing in the cafeteria.

"Fast, yes," Jasper agreed, "but every word he said to you was genuine. I could feel the truth in it… and the happiness."

Hearing that, Rosalie kept her expression calm, but inside, her heart was doing somersaults.

After School

The final bell rang, and students began pouring into the hallways. Lucas stepped out of his classroom to find Rosalie leaning casually against the wall, waiting for him.

They exchanged smiles — the kind that needed no words — and began walking toward the exit together, their steps in sync, their presence drawing curious eyes all around.

As they stepped outside, Rosalie glanced at him with a faint, almost shy tug at her lips. "So… do you want to meet my family? Or should I say… your future family?"

Lucas grinned. "Sure. Why wait? We already confirmed what we are to each other. Lead the way."

Her smile deepened as she guided him toward a sleek Volvo parked near the school gates, where her family stood waiting.

"Lucas, meet my family. This big guy here is Emmett, and his partner Lisa. Next to them are Alice and Jasper, and that one—" she nodded toward him "—is Edward."

They all greeted Lucas with polite smiles… except Edward, whose intense stare seemed sharp enough to drill a hole through his head. Lucas simply smiled back, giving Edward a look that said you're kind of a psychopath, aren't you?

"Just ignore him, future brother-in-law," Alice said with a playful smirk, making Edward's jaw tighten.

"Hahahaha! Yeah, ignore him. He's always like that," Emmett added, laughing loudly.

Lisa and Jasper chuckled too, shaking their heads. "You work fast," Lisa teased. "Making Rosalie your fiancée in just one hour."

Lucas smiled at them warmly. "When you're certain about your feelings, why waste time? This way, we have plenty of time to truly know each other."

His words earned nods of approval — and from Rosalie, a smile that was quietly radiant and warm feeling in her heart which she didn't want to fade while looking at Lucas handsome face.
