Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 : End??

Conan quickly explained, "The enemy's drone lowers to a certain height when sniping at the big sister and the others. Although it flies around chaotically, there's no doubt it's confirming their closest distance. It's like two points — the third point is somewhere in between, and if you connect the three points, they lie on a straight line."

"You mean like bat sonar?" Akai Shuichi immediately used his sniper scope to observe the position directly behind the drone in a straight line.

Remembering where the drone was moments ago, he found two other sniper positions, but no figures were visible.

Because the distance was far, Gin hadn't noticed this weakness in the enemy's drone. The drone wasn't flying randomly; it was confirming the shortest straight-line distance to them.

To avoid being detected, the drone's distance data was recorded in real time.

Just one measurement was enough to confirm the shortest distance. For Gin, this flaw was negligible.

"Right now, it's impossible to confirm positions based on the enemy's drone. Mr. Akai, you need to move to a different sniper location," Conan said directly. He boldly guessed the enemy drone didn't need to constantly scan; there had to be recorded data.

"Understood." Akai Shuichi immediately left the building, preparing to find a new sniping point.

"There are two people. Is the other a woman or a child?" Gin checked the thermal imaging on his screen, frowning.

Since the distance was long, he could only identify two red dots, the larger one representing Akai Shuichi.

Gin took out his phone and sent an email to the outside team: "Go to that building. If there are surveillance cameras, check the footage. The target wears a hat and carries a backpack that can hold a sniper rifle. Confirm if there is a woman or child nearby."

"Roger."

Seeing the reply, Gin sneered coldly. Although checking the cameras might be pointless since the target likely avoided monitored routes, they could use the next sniper location to confirm who was nearby. He was curious to see who was working with Akai Shuichi.

At the same time, Akai Shuichi alone arrived at another tall building. The first floor was a mall, about five hundred yards from the villa. He had probably entered the enemy sniper's position.

Conan stayed far away and contacted via walkie-talkie. They had just confirmed the enemy drone's distance mechanism, but to measure distance, they first needed to know the position.

Why did the enemy know the position? Following Akai Shuichi so closely might have put them at risk of being discovered.

So he asked the doctor to find a room and continued to contact Akai Shuichi.

The Public Security agents were also cautious.

When Furuya Rei learned about the enemy's sniper attack, he kept looking for cover.

At the same time, the Public Security snipers started to fight back.

However, against an organization with advanced black technology, the situation was disadvantageous.

That villa was probably empty, and it surely had bombs to destroy evidence.

Knowing the enemy could retreat at any moment, if they kept going, the Public Security would suffer heavy losses.

Reports of Public Security deaths kept coming in.

Furuya Rei felt very heavy-hearted but still needed to try to arrest Gin.

Conan's reasoning wasn't only told to Akai Shuichi, but also shared with Public Security.

They had found the positions of two of the other three snipers.

Gin's location was still unknown.

At least the other snipers had to be caught.

These snipers had killed many Public Security members.

At this moment, Furuya Rei thought again of the researcher Hennessy, feeling very troubled.

This man had caused too many sacrifices for the Japanese Public Security.

He directly contacted the person in charge near the villa.

"Those at the scene, don't show yourselves. There should be no one inside. Be ready to abandon the operation at any time."

After hanging up, he immediately called again.

"Is there much foot traffic near the Mihama building?"

"At this time, it's fairly busy."

"Good. Next, gather near that building. Act like normal people shopping; don't rush."

After giving instructions, Furuya Rei got out of the car and entered the crowd, slowly walking toward the tall building.

At the same time,

Because Gin's exact position was unknown, Akai Shuichi dared not show himself for the moment.

Gin's sniper skills were very strong.

There was no way the enemy would miss this chance.

Tired of hiding, Akai planned to confirm the enemy's location.

He partially exposed himself and raised his sniper rifle.

Bang.

A bullet hit him—not in the head, but in his left shoulder.

Akai Shuichi took cover and sweat ran down his face.

He tore his shirt, gritting his teeth through the pain as he wiped the blood and checked the bullet's entry angle.

Akai quickly changed his position and fired a shot toward a direction.

This shot worsened his injury.

Knowing it was the only way, Akai immediately left.

Gin looked at his destroyed sniper scope, sweating nervously.

His hand was bleeding from glass shards.

With just that one shot, the enemy had confirmed his position.

If Gin gave them the chance to aim, that bullet would not be from a sniper rifle.

Letting the blood flow freely from his palm, Gin dialed the phone.

"Retreat. Also, send the drones to self-destruct."

The three heard something was wrong in Gin's voice.

They quickly packed up their sniper rifles, preparing to leave.

On Jodie's side, she and the police hid behind cover.

The target villa nearby hadn't shown any sign of life for a long time.

At that moment, the sound of drones grew closer.

"What's that? Is the organization nearby?" Jodie hurriedly pulled out her pistol, ready to fight.

"Damn!" Camel quickly grabbed Jodie and forcefully threw her outside.

Boom! Boom!

Two drones exploded themselves.

Shrapnel tore Camel apart.

Many police officers on the scene were also killed.

Jodie's left arm was broken, and she was badly bruised.

She was about ten meters from the explosion's center.

The blast threw her far away, but she ignored the pain.

Bodies and flesh were everywhere — a living hell.

"The organization!" Jodie clenched her right fist tightly.

She slammed it hard on the ground, leaving a blood-filled hole.

That showed how furious she was.

This mission was a crushing defeat.

After the explosion, Shuichi Akai immediately called and learned the outcome.

Without saying a word, he hung up.

Jodie was stunned and angry.

The scene would haunt her nightmares for a long time.

At some hotel, Conan put down his phone and remained silent for a long time.

Professor Agasa watched, very worried.

At the Miha Building, Rei Furuya captured the organization's crazy sniper, Chianti.

He fully restrained her to prevent suicide.

Though they failed to assassinate Ren, they captured a member alive.

Suddenly, the sound of an explosion was heard.

The good mood slowly faded.

Rei called again and again until he got through.

The results left everyone silent.

Chianti laughed loudly, not caring that she was being captured.

The police looked at her as if she were crazy.

One of them couldn't stand his brother being mocked like that, so he rushed forward and slapped her.

But Chianti just kept laughing wildly, mocking the police's incompetence and boasting about the strength of her organization.

Then, another explosion went off.

The villa instantly caught fire, and soon thick smoke rose into the sky.

It seemed the clash between darkness and blood was coming to an end.

Sirens sounded on the streets.

One fire truck after another rushed toward the source of the fire.

Kageya Rei watched the thick smoke in the distance and heard the fearful cries of the people.

He immediately knocked Chianti unconscious.

Only a few police officers knew that Kageya Rei was angry—and this was an anger unlike any before.
