Through the streets, Nagisa ran. Her hair and eyes crimson. Three jeeps behind her while men pursued her on foot from the roof tops.
The tranquilizer and the neurotoxin really did a number on me. She glanced at the black gunk on her face, arms and legs. Me being a Lesser Human is the only reason why I can keep going, my body is cleansing itself of the impurities. A bomb exploded before her in green smoke.
She turned right holding her breath. They're attacking me with that shit faster than how my body can cleanse it. Fighting them head on would be suicide. I need help but why hasn't anyone come yet? And why can't I sense anyone close by? I'm near the shopping district so someone should be near here... unless... She looked up. The sun was amber. Fuck! Why didn't I notice it sooner! I'm under a Vail! It blocks those who are inside from sensing the aura of those outside and vice versa.
Her pole extended. She stabbed it into the asphalt and ran forward bending the pole. She was propelled forward. Come on, come on! She was bombarded with darts. Her hands flailed in the wind. Her aura faded.
Fuck! Not going to make it. Even if they do sense me, they won't make it in time cause they don't know I'm in actual trouble. My body is filled with so much toxins that I can't even flow my aura and once I fall I'll be easier to capture than a drunk in a liquor store....damnit! I refuse to accept this! There's still a chance. If it's mom she might be able to tell that I'm in trouble and get here fast enough if I release my aura with negative thoughts.
She popped threw the thin Vail of blue.
Level 3 Threat! This is Future Lieutenant Nagisa and I've been attacked by the Eschaton Temple who've infiltrated Okinawa. The situation is critical, I'm about to be captured. Send reinforcements! A burst of red was released. She begins to fall.
Her eyes roam the horizon. No response? She fell. Damnit! Anyone? I'm being attacked by the Eschaton Temple. I need help! I command help! Heed my command! Come and fight! Fight with your Regulator!! A chain wrapped around her waist. A man in a robe yanked it. She passed through the Vail and slammed into the asphalt. Laid there. Crater beneath her.
They fired more darts. "Stop. We don't want to kill her." Said the man with the chain.
"I doubt that."
"The amount of tranquilizers that we've hit her with could take down a whale. And that's just what pierced her skin. She's not human."
"Restrain her." Said the man with chains. Five men held out their arms. Magic circles manifested. Chains came forth and bind Nagisa. She was raised from the ground. He walked towards her. "Honestly, the Yamaguchi Clan is nothing but monsters that I'd rather not trifle with-ugh! What is that awful smell?!" Nagisa was covered in black ooze. "She smells like a cesspool." He coughed.
Nagisa's arms darken. The chains fade. She grabbed his arm with her right and his neck with the other. There was a tearing sound followed by spurts of red. His hand landed in the crater. He screamed.
They opened fire. "Kill her!" All their bullets stopped before reaching her. They float like objects in water. "This is ridiculous...the Yamaguchi Clan...has someone that can use telekinesis?!"
Her hand sunk into his neck. He gasped, staring into her black eyes. His skin shriveled and hair fell out. Her hand clenched. His head fell backward. Her hands and face were dark as her eyes and hair. She bellowed. The bullets fell. In a split second she rushed one of them. They fired. The bullets hit her. She wailed.
"Keep firing! She can't use her telekinesis infinitely and needs to meet some conditions. She's in some sort of trance and can't dodge like before. Call in the containment truck. She'll go down soon."
Nagisa crouched down. Shots bombarded her from all angles. "...big brother..." She said under her breath.
A car sped into the street. Two crimson haired girls leaned forward on the hood. Their clothes fluttered. The men scattered and opened fire. One girl tossed the other. She landed beside Nagisa and spun. Whirling her oversized chain she knocked them back. The car swerved around her and Nagisa. The girl with the chain tossed Nagisa into the moving car then leaping onto the back. They sped off.
The men equipped their weapons. "Aim for the tires." They fired.
The driver glanced at the rear view mirror. "Kawa."
"On it." Said the girl with the oversized chains from her spot on the back of of the car. "Aura Enhancement - Chain Mail." She spun the chains, crisscrossing them into an impenetrable defense. Her eyes jotting back and forth to spot any bullet and counter before they hit their mark.
A truck and two jeeps were on a collision course with them. "Maria."
"Yeah yeah, you don't have to tell me." She pulled out a crowbar. The truck was directly before them. She swung. "Aura Construct - Weapon Gigantis." The red slash was shaped like the crowbar and hook under the truck before sending it flying overhead. It lands on its back. The two jeeps swerved in pursuit.
Kawa swung her chains. A trench was formed in the ground. The jeeps detoured. The girls slid in through the windows. "We bought ourselves a few minutes. Is Nagisa alright? Why is she black and smelly, Akane?" Said the girl with the chains.
"My guess is" Said the girl who drove. "That she's cleansing the impurities from her body that came from the tranquilizer darts the enemy used. It's the same for you two." She glanced at the rear view mirror. The two looked at themselves. Darts in their arms and legs. Black ooze came from their skin.
"What the hell is this Akane? You suddenly steal a car, tell us to get in, then drive us into this shit storm. Who the hell are these guys and how the hell did they get here? And why is the clan allowing them to parade around in broad daylight? Is this another test?" Said Maria holding her crowbar.
"They're the Eschaton Temple. I doubt the clan sanctioned this much less knows their here. Otherwise they wouldn't be using a Vail."
Nagisa leaned forward. Her eyes crimson. "And how did you know that Akane?" She glared.
Akane gulped. "...I don't know how but I heard your message in my head. That's how I knew to come here."
"Yet they couldn't hear me but you could?" Nagisa gestured to Kawa and Maria.
"Probably I'm more susceptible to mental communication since my access to our bloodline curse is sealed."
"That's bullshit. But it's the only thing we got." She wiped her face. "By the way." Her hand rests on Akane's throat. "I never said anything about the Vail in my message." Aura flowed to her hand.
Akane stared back. "I never said you did."
The crimson in her eyes faded. She let's go with a chuckle. "Good to see you haven't lost your Yamaguchi pride." Her response. It feels like she's on the verge of discovering the Truth of the World. That would be problematic because she's supposed to live a homosapien lifestyle now because she's failed to evolve and has shortened her lifespan to five years. And yet, her body doesn't feel like that of a homosapien. She's hiding something. Best not to push her any further. For now.
She's suspicious of me. Better keep my distance after all. She really is scary. She glanced her over. Her skin had streams of black ooze but was no longer black.
"Now that you're fit for combat again," Said Maria. "We can take those guys out with hit and run tactics."
"It's not that simple." Said Akane. "The only reason why we're here is because the enemy is more than what Nagisa can handle."
Kawa raised a brow. "Even with the four of us?"
"Akane's right. They aren't your average humans. The surface side of the human world is heavily influenced by the extra mundane. The underbelly however, is ruled by the four syndicates. They are, from strongest to weakest, the American Crime Lords of the West, the African Cartels of the South, Russian Mafia of the North and the Yakuza of the East, our Yamaguchi Clan."
"Tsk. If it wasn't for her our position would be the top." Maria frowned.
"The other clan's took the opportunity to oppress us while the clan was weak."
"Even if she hadn't betrayed the clan and we were at the top," said Nagisa "we'd still be below the Eschaton Temple in power as are the other syndicates. Where'd you think they got the power to suppress us? The Eschaton Temple has magic. That should indicate how powerful they are."
"What's the plan then? Do we flee or hide?"
"Having fought against them, I know they're smart and organized. Every time I take out a leader, another foot soldier takes up the mantle. The reason for an alpha is because the betas can't lead and the alphas don't follow. The only way this makes sense is unless they're a pack of alpha betas. It's ludacris."
Akane arched a brow. Isn't that exactly what we are? In the distance two jeeps block off their escape. "Well you better come up with a solution fast."
"We're going to go give them hell."
"But I thought you said we couldn't beat them?" Said Kawa.
"We can't. We don't have enough information." Said Nagisa. "Never said we couldn't stall though. That call I made must have reached mother and even if it didn't, I'm sure you texted your mother, right Akane?"
"I told her that you were in trouble and our location at the time. I couldn't give her the details cause the signal died when we unknowingly entered the barrier."
"Mother and aunt should be here in five minutes. If we use a formation we can last more than enough time for them to arrive."
"Why do feel like that's not going to happen?" Said Maria.
Nagisa grin. "Akane, watch your foot." She stomped the gas peddle. It laid in the dent floor. The engine sung. "Maria, Akane is your responsibility. Kawa, my backpack. Everyone get ready." Two men in robes stood before the jeeps. Magic circles in hand. They slammed them into the ground. Spikes sprung from the asphalt. "Now!" The girls leaped. Maria caught Akane and Kawa held the backpack. Nagisa kicked out the wind shield. She stood on the bonnet. Her hair and eyes went crimson.
She stomped. The engine dug into the asphalt. The car flipped as she walked underneath it. She clutched the back bumper. She tossed. It collided with the spikes. The engine crashed into the jeeps. They exploded. Gust knocked the two men forward.
Nagisa snatched them from the air. She grinned and smashed their heads together. She turned around and wiped the blood from her face. "That. Was. Amazing! I didn't even break a sweat." She pulled out a baton. It extends into a pole. "Who else wants some hell?"
The girls stared at her. In this moment they had one thought. Clan Leader. Akane fell to her knees. The others followed in awe.
Nagisa leep behind them. She twirled her pole. Projectiles collide with it. "What the hell are you doing?!" An RPG is fired. She blocked it. It explodes in green smoke. The girls start coughing. "Get your heads in the game." She held up her pole. Red aura flowed into it as it spun. The smoke is sent upwards. Kawa and Maria took a fighting stance. A magic circle formed beside a man. Another man conjured another circle. Both of which were in line with each other. Shots of water came from the second and passed through the first. "Shit. Move!" Hail was blasted at them. They leaped into a building.
"Building four!" Said one of the men. On the other side of the building, men tossed in grenades.
Nagisa frowned. "See what I'm talking about." Kawa busted through the wall. Men stood in wait at the alleyway. The opened fire.
Maria blocked. "The hell?!"
"Charge at them." Said Nagisa. Two men casted magic circles. The girls were blasted out of the alleyway. "Is everyone alright?" The girls were shrouded in aura.
They stared at Nagisa in awe. She really could be the next Future Clan Leader.
The smoke cleared. They were surrounded by men with magic circles. Beneath them was water. Electricity flowed into the girls. Their bodies jerked and burned all over. They grit their teeth. None screamed. "Fire." They were flanked with darts. "That's enough." Said one man.
"Are you sure?"
"These girls aren't human."
"We should take precautions."
"Agreed." He shot each girl in all four limbs. "Keep your circles ready. Restrain these three with binding magic. The one that's been shielding her sisters, fill her up on neurotoxin...inject it directly into her spine just to be safe."
Nagisa laughed hysterically. They bombarded her with dart. She staggered. "I'm so stupid. I should have realized it sooner. Can't believe it took a comparison between me and these two to realize."
He fired. "That you talk too much."
She caught the dart with her teeth. Her hand out. He was pulled towards her. His throat in her hand. "Well this is new." She bent his neck. "These new powers, my quick regeneration, durability and telepathy. I can't believe I doubted myself so much." She stomped. "I am the Future Clan Leader!" The ground shuddered. Everyone was airborne then fell. On nagisa's chest, a tattoo form.
Nagisa fell to the ground. Her eyes shut along with the other girls.
One of the men kicked their bodies. "I think their down."
"Grab them and let's go. We already took too long to do this. Things didn't go according to how Frank planned. We should have never taken the job from that simp-" The man who shot the girls exploded. A metal bat blasted through his body like a popped water balloon.
A red streak sprint through the holes in the building left by the bat's wake. It stopped before the bat. Its split stream brought a massive gust storm. In the dust red eyes dart back and forth. A hand grabbed the bat. A tall woman with crimson hair stepped forward.
"You motherfuckers really think you're shit. Stepping on my turf, destroying my property, attacking my family, hurting my precious daughter!" She held her bat up then swung. Aura was released. The ground shattered from the force. The buildings crumbled in its path. The men were dead. "You'll all pay with your lives."
