Chapter 6 - Chapter VI (6)

"Be on your guard Nagisa. Today doesn't feel right." She said from the steering wheel.

Nagisa closed the door. "You mean the bastard calling you to make payment just as we came upon the road to school being blocked?"

"Yeah, a coincidence right?"

"...Later aunt Sayuri." Sayuri saluted then reaved off. Nagisa went over the blockade and walked down the middle of the empty street. The shops were closed on both sides. In the distance she could see the school building on her left. Students went inside as usual, but none came from her direction. What is this? Her brows scrunched. Shops are closed, the roads are blocked off, traffic has been redirected, and there is a giant hole in the road.

She stooped before a crater that eat the road and sidewalks. Rust covered metal pipes were partially submerged in water still water. All of this happened and we weren't informed. She stared at the hole. By the looks of it, they were trying to fix a broken main. But that doesn't add up. If the main was broken then the water should be leaking yet the water is stagnant and those pipes are rusty like been exposed to the elements and not rusty from being underground. Even if the leak was fixed by putting in new pipes, this hole looks like it was made yesterday. Barely anyone works on a Sunday in Okinawa much less road workers. And top that, where's all the soil that was removed to make it this deep? She stood. "Its as if the hole magically appeared."

Something flitted through the air. Nagisa sidestepped. It grazed her hair. A bullet. Another was fired. She arched her back. A green dart flew past her face. A tranquilizer dart?! Shit! She summersaults into the hole. She tossed a rock up into the air. It was turned to dust above the hole. Who the fuck are these guys?! They can't be regular homosapiens. To come up with this they have to know that secret. The Truth of the World. Their comprehension can't be that high though since they started cornering me where I could hide away in this hole. She stared at the pipes in the water then began to shift some rubble. Knew it. These pips aren't connect to any main. But why go through the trouble of burying one side and not the other? "This entire trap feels strange down to this hole. The energy that it gives off." Grandma taught me that their are three major types of Essences. Magic, Soul and Life Essences. I don't know how but I've encountered magic before. And this hole, reeks of magic essences.

Inside the basement of the build behind her, two men draped in robes and special gloves. A different magic circle was embedded on each pair of gloves. The two stood near two metal pipes. A different magic circle manifested before the their hands. One of them put his hands near the pipes opening. The pipes under her rattled. Water burst forth shot her out the hole.

The hole was also a trap made by magic! These guys are able to use magic but don't come at me directly. That means they know who I am and they're not the extra mundane. Has to be one of our rivals. The African Cartels? The Russian Syndicate? The American Mafia? She gritted her teeth. Her body unable to move and still airborne due to the water force. The second man in robes placed his hands on the pipes. Lighting flowed through the pipes and water jolting into her body.

Her jaw clenched. Electricity too?! Clicks were heard all around her. They've got me me pinned. Move damnit. Aura flowed to a metal bar strapped to her thigh. It extended and touched the electrical wires. She grinned. The current backflowed through the water in the pipes to the two men in robes. They twist and turned. Their skin smoked along with the water before they were sent flying into the wall. The water and electricity stop. They fired at her in the steam. Her staff extended and hooked into the building. It retracted and pulled her out the cross hairs and onto the roof. She ran to flee then stopped. She glared at the building across the street.

At the edge of the building she crouched. A shooter targets her. "I got a clean shot on the target." Stupid girl really came back...what is she looking at?

Nagisa shot off. With aura around her she ripped through the pavement like ice-cream. She ripped through the wall above the pipes and found the two semi conscious men were gasping and fidgeting. "We...will never...talk." They attempted to bite something. Nagisa kicked their faces. A white capsule came from each of them.

"Suicide pills huh? In the event of capture by the enemy. Though pointless since I've already figured out you're the Eschaton Temple. Hard to miss with these robes. I'm assuming that's how you hid your presence from me. Still, I respect your dedication. Now respect my dedication to my future husband." She stepped in their necks, slowly increasing her weight. The sound of flesh being pressed blended with the choking and gaging on the two reddened faced men. "You two tried to make me scream. Only my future husband can ever get that out of me." With a snap they stopped moving.

Footsteps marched above. She grabbed their clothes, gloves and pills. A few seconds later she burst out the other side of the building and took to the streets. She took out her phone from her backpack as she ran. Shit, it got ruined by those assholes. If only mom bought me that J Phone that I wanted. "I'm on my own." A jeep charged at her from between two buildings. She punched the engine to the ground. The driver's jaw dropped. The shooter in the back fired. The dart hits her forehead. She's knocked down.

"Is she down now?" Said the driver. Both get out the ruined vehicle.

"Yeah. That tranquilizer was strong enough to take down six elephants." He turned his back. "She ain't getting up." She was behind him. She swiped her hand. His head faced her direction and his body faced his partner. He fell on his back and his face in the asphalt.

The man stared at her blankly. "Shouldn't have let your guard down..." She looked at the man still staring at her as a grenade rolled towards her foot. "Oh fuc-" It exploded.

"You should take your own advice."

"Grandma always said I was stubborn like mother." Her silhouette came forward in the smoke. The man didn't move. She fell to her knee coughing.

"You really don't learn do you? You think this is some second rate armature coming after you? This organization has been there in the shadows of humanity for over a thousand years. We've prepared for every possible outcome. That grenade is laced with a neurotoxin that renders anyone who breaths it paralyzed for days if it doesn't kill them."

She giggled. "Man you're annoying. What happened to dead men telling no tales." Her staff was him his chest. Blood soaked his clothes warm red. He fell flat with a thud. "What do you know, it's true after all." She salvaged their clothes and weapons. Her backpack at its max. More of them came in vehicles. She dashed.

On a street lined with shops sealing clothes, food and other various items, the crowds of women of all ages took their time and leisurely browsed. Except three.

"This place is a nightmare! Like why we gotta do this? Like why?" Said a girl with a red bandana in her curled black hair that reached her mid back going red at the tips. She held two bras to the sky.

"You know that we need new underwear, Maria. We'll be starting Highschool in a few weeks and our old clothes can barely fit anymore." Said Akane.

"Can't we get the maid to do it?"

"I don't think we should. She's been looking pretty burnt out. I've seen her mop the house while sleeping." Said Kawa.

"...damn I miss cousin Kai."

"You said it. He'd always know do the shopping and everything he bought would always fit perfectly. He'd buy me those cute little panties with soldiers on them that could actually fit without squeezing my vagina."

"If you want those then go to the kids section, were you belong."

"Do kids have these?" She lifts her skirt.

"Woah!" They stared as did some on lookers.

"Your ass is huge for someone so little Kawa."

Akane turned her hips and looked at Kawa. "It's bigger than mine not to mention her hips are broad."

"Now you get it. Nothing I like is in my size."

"I know what you mean. It's hard to find a bra with the right cup and chest size.

Maria sighed. "Not to mention materials. If it's not cotton it makes my butt itch."

"Let's get this over with." Said Akane. They sighed. "Wish Nagisa was here."

They both stared at here. "You really need to let that go." Said Kawa.

"She's right. We admire her as much as you do and want to hang out with her but... she's too far ahead of us." Said Maria.

"And an introvert. Kinda like you Akane."

"Exactly. She's the same as me. Yet were friends. So why not her? Besides, we're literally related by blood."

"You're not leagues ahead of us, if anything you're below-!... I'm sorry I shouldn't hav-"

"It's okay. You're right. Since I'm going to be living as a Homosapien, normal human, life from now on, I am below you two." Their eyes narrowed, disheartened. "But I would have been far ahead of you if I had managed to evolve. You both knew that yet we were still friends. So again, why not her?"

Both girls looked away. "... because she's scary..." Said Maria.

Kawa nods. "And intense. Did you see how she reacted when she found out cousin Kai was like us?"

"Yeah, it's like she went crazy, almost like all the adults in our clan."

"...I won't disagree with you there. But I still think she'll make great Lieutenant. Maybe even Clan Leader-" She clenched her head.

Anyone?! I'm being attacked by the Eschaton Temple! Heed my command! Come and fight for with your Regulator!!"

Akane covered her eyes. They glowed crimson. She glanced to the distance. Nagisa...
