Chapter 20 - Destined meeting

After Toge finished his first day at UA Academy, he turned and quietly headed toward the exit gate. The sun was leaning toward sunset, and the path leading to the gates was crowded with refreshed students.

Toge looked at Mineta, who was talking with Kirishima.

Mineta was walking beside Kirishima as they exited the academy. Mineta looked tired. as if he were about to collapse.

Mineta: "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God... Did you see when the teacher said that the least person will be expelled from school....."

Mineta sighed loudly, then placed his hands on his head and shook his head in despair. He was focused only on himself, unaware that Toge was behind him.

"Yes... but I still remember that white-haired boy who got the highest score... I wonder what his quirk is," said Kirishima excitedly before pointing at Toge.

"Oh... look, he's behind us."

Mineta turned around, and as soon as he saw Toge, his face filled with fear before he raised his hand to protect his head.

Toge passed by them and ignored the loud voices. Since he had already released his anger during the test day, there was no longer any need for more discipline — but if it happened again, maybe he'd hit him a little.

But now was not the time to think about that.

He had a simple plan: leave the academy, find a temporary place to stay, then plan his next move. He didn't have time to waste.

As he walked, he spotted Bakugo, who was walking ahead in fast and angry steps, accompanied by a few students. Bakugo's face was scowling, and his eyes were blazing with rage. He clearly hadn't forgotten the ball throw test result. "He must be angry now," Toge thought to himself.

Toge passed by Bakugo without saying a word, but he heard the whispers behind him. "Who does he think he is?" "He was just lucky." Toge ignored all of it. To him, heroes were just tools — he didn't need to waste his energy arguing with them.

Toge exited through the massive gate, then looked around.

The streets were bustling with activity, cars speeding on their way, while people wandered about. He gave a quick look at his phone and checked the city map. "I need to find a place to settle quickly."

As he stared at his phone screen, he felt a strange presence following him. He didn't turn, but he realized that someone had been watching him since he left the academy gate. The feeling was familiar to him.

"I need to find a place to settle quickly."

Toge entered a dark side alley, and after just a few steps, he stopped. Toge stopped moving before he spoke: "Isn't it rude to follow people without them knowing?"

"You caught me... I thought you'd head to a public place, but it looks like you're an idiot."

Toge didn't turn. He knew exactly whose voice it was.

"We've been waiting for you all day."

The man whose car Toge had broken by accident appeared from the shadows, and this time, he wasn't alone. He was accompanied by three other men. One of them was huge, another seemed jittery, and the third was thin and carrying a knife.

"It's time you learned to respect other people's property," said the man and smiled a wicked smile.

Toge looked at the man coldly, his eyes devoid of fear. He didn't raise his hands or take a combat stance. He was completely calm.

"I told you it was an accident, didn't I?" said Toge.

"Right," said the man, lightly tapping the metal bat in his hands. "But you need to learn the lesson…"

"Honestly... I don't have time to waste on you, so I hope you'll excuse me," said Toge as he tried to pass by the man, but felt something solid approaching his head.

"Oh?" said the man mockingly. "You think you're going to escape this time?"

Crack—

"Well, looks like there's no point in talking," said Toge as he cracked his fingers.

Toge looked at the men with a cold gaze, a look that made them stop laughing.

"Now," said Toge. "You have two options. Either go back where you came from, or face the consequences of your actions."

The main man laughed loudly. "Do you hear him? He's threatening us! Does he think he's a hero?"

The thin man holding the knife walked toward Toge, raising his hand close to his face.

"How about I add a little scratch to that handsome face," said the man.

But before the knife touched Toge's body, it disappeared. No one saw what happened. All they saw was the knife vanish into thin air.

"What...?" muttered the thin man, staring at his now-empty hands.

Toge looked at him with a sharp gaze. His eyes glowed with a faint purple in the dark before he said a single sentence:

"Step back."

And as soon as Toge said the word, the three men felt a tremendous force push them backward. They fell to the ground, some of them vomiting blood. They were trembling in fear, staring at Toge — who hadn't even lifted a hand.

"What just happened..." muttered the main man, gasping.

Toge didn't answer. He sat in front of them and raised the knife close to the thin man's eye.

"You have two options."
