Chapter 19 - Aizawa

As soon as Toge Inumaki moved to throw the ball, the air around him began to change... A strange energy spread around his hands as he took the stance of a baseball pitcher in the midst of all the students' eyes, but Aizawa's eyes were the sharpest. He was watching every movement, every change in Toge's energy.

In a split second, just before the ball left Toge's hand, Aizawa activated his ability to suppress his "Quirk."

But what happened was extremely strange for Aizawa.

— Everything cut off.

Aizawa saw nothing, the world around him faded before the colors disappeared. Just utter darkness.

He felt as if he were swimming in a sea of void, weightless, yet through it all Aizawa remained calm, thinking about the reason behind the malfunction in his Quirk—especially since this phenomenon had never happened to him before.

Aizawa waited a few seconds before the utter darkness began to fade, and as soon as it faded, Aizawa understood everything.

There was a power that did not follow the usual Quirk laws, and the only reason for this anomaly was the boy in front of him. Even after Aizawa looked closely, he found no change in Toge's expression.

As if Toge didn't even know that Aizawa had activated his ability.

Everyone around was looking at the screen...

950.0 meters.

Aizawa stared at Toge, his gaze filled with amusement—how could he not be, when something had finally happened that could keep him awake?

"This boy..." he muttered to himself before a wide smile appeared on his face.

"...It seems he has something that doesn't belong to this world," said Aizawa.

The students didn't notice anything unusual; everyone was just stunned by the distance Toge achieved, surpassing everyone, including Bakugo.

"That's impossible! How could this idiot throw the ball that far?" Bakugo yelled, staring angrily at the screen.

Toge simply said nothing, just gave a calm smile then returned to his place as if nothing had happened.

While Toge ignored Bakugo, the hostility in Bakugo's eyes persisted. He was cursing inside before turning his back to the teacher. "Tch..."

Aizawa looked at the students and said, "Now, let's move on to the next test. No one expects this academy to be easy, right?"

While the students continued their tests, Aizawa's mind remained occupied with Toge. He knew that Toge didn't use a normal Quirk, because his ability would have erased it. But what exactly was this special skill?

"Alright, we've finished the tests," said Aizawa after clapping his hands lightly.

As soon as the students completed all the tests, Aizawa announced that the academic exam was over and that the student who scored the lowest was Izuku Midoriya.

"So, Midoriya, you were the weakest in all the tests, and therefore you're expelled from the academy."

Silence filled the place. The students were shocked by Aizawa's decision. They couldn't believe their strict teacher would expel someone on the first day.

At that moment, Uraraka intervened, saying, "You can't do that! It's not fair!" Ochaco Uraraka shouted inwardly before trying to object. "But—"

"The academy's rules are clear. If you don't have what it takes to be a hero, then there's no place for you here," Aizawa interrupted with a stern tone.

While the students stared at Aizawa, suddenly his face exploded into a wide smile, saying: "Welcome to the Hero Academy! That was just a trick to make you feel the reality."

"...."

The students sighed in relief, while Midoriya looked at Aizawa with eyes full of gratitude—he truly feared he was going to be expelled.

Aizawa continued his explanation: "I wanted to show you that life as a hero isn't easy. There will be times when you fail, but the most important thing is to keep trying. Now, you can return to your classrooms, and tomorrow we'll start actual training."

Toge saw Midoriya and Bakugo talking about something, but he knew Bakugo was mocking him, so he turned his gaze back toward the school and headed to the classroom.

As Toge made his way to class, he found Midoriya standing alone at the classroom door.

_____Midoriya's point of view_____

Izuku Midoriya felt lost and confused. He didn't know how to act anymore. After Bakugo humiliated him in the strength test, he felt ashamed and weak. At that moment, he felt a hand tap his shoulder. He looked back to find Uraraka smiling at him.

"You're okay, right?" said Uraraka in a soft voice, "I know you were scared, but you did your best, and that's what matters!"

Midoriya felt a bit of relief, but he didn't say anything. He just gave a faint smile.

"I know you'll become a great hero, so don't let anything make you doubt yourself," said Uraraka before returning to her seat.

"Heh... Heroes," Toge muttered sarcastically as he looked at Uraraka comforting Midoriya.

________

"I'm looking forward to seeing your expressions in the future," Toge said before continuing on his way.
