Chapter 24 - Test start

Toge and Mineta reached the building where the test would take place, their eyes scanning every corner. The place was a massive multi-story building, full of winding corridors, locked rooms, and closed doors. Darkness dominated most of the areas, making it hard to see the enemies, and adding a tense atmosphere to the place.

In the control room, All Might smiled confidently as he looked at the large screen, pointing his hand towards the two teams: "Alright! Team Heroes K versus Team Villains C. Each team must head to their designated positions!"

Mineta swallowed nervously, feeling like his heart might leap out of his chest. He stared at Togi, who showed no sign of emotion. Togi was completely calm, as though he was about to go on a casual walk, not fight against three heroes.

"Toge, aren't you scared?" Mineta whispered, trying to sound brave.

Toge completely ignored him. Meanwhile, a map of the building appeared on the screen, showing the bomb's location. All Might pointed to the screen: "The bomb is located on the fourth floor, in the main room. The villains' mission is to protect it for 15 minutes, or until the heroes can take control of it."

Toge glanced at the map and nodded calmly. He now knew exactly where he was, and the bomb's location. He turned to Mineta and said seriously: "I need two of your balls."

Mineta was shocked by the request. "Two? What are you going to do with them?"

Toge didn't answer, but repeated his request: "Give me two. Now!"

Mineta, frightened by Toge's tone, quickly complied, and the two balls that had been stuck to his head came out, and he handed them to Togi.

Toge took the balls, placed them in his pocket, then looked at Mineta and said, "Don't leave this room, protect the bomb, and I'll be back soon."

"But... where are you going?" Mineta asked, his voice trembling.

Toge didn't answer, instead, he smiled mysteriously before leaving the room, disappearing into the darkness. Mineta was now alone in the room, feeling lonely and scared. He sat on the floor, staring at the bomb, which glowed faintly in the dark, and his heart felt like it might jump out of his chest.

In the control room, the students watched everything in silence. Toge moved calmly through the corridors, while Mineta sat in the room, waiting for Togi's return.

Toge moved slowly and cautiously, navigating the dark rooms and winding hallways on the third floor. His steps were so quiet, while his eyes glinted in the dark, scanning every corner and shadow. He passed rooms filled with wooden crates and scattered furniture, opening one door after another, peering inside, and then slowly closing it again. Togi knew that Team Heroes K wouldn't be far behind, and they were definitely going to set some kind of trap to catch him and stop the bomb. So, he decided to make the first move.

When he reached the end of the hall, he opened the last door slowly, and the moment he stepped into the room,

Swish!!...

He found a white ribbon wrapping around his arm at lightning speed, while hundreds of small paper birds shot toward him, like arrows aimed straight at him. The ribbon's source was Hanta Sero, while the paper birds came from Koji Koda, who was controlling them with his Quirk.

In the control room, the students watched the scene in silence. They were shocked at how quickly Team Heroes had discovered Togi and dealt with him.

"Wow! He fell into the trap!" one of them shouted.

Toge didn't stop. The moment the birds rushed toward him, he pulled out the two balls that had been stuck together, from Mineta's Quirk. His hand was bound by Sero's ribbon, but he was able, with difficulty, to throw the two balls onto the nearby wall, causing them to stick, preventing the ribbon from moving, and thus Sero could no longer tighten his grip on Toge.

"What did he do?" Sero shouted in shock. "I can't pull the ribbon!"

Toge ignored him and instead looked at the broken glass scattered on the floor. He wrapped the ribbon around it and kicked the glass hard, causing it to scatter, grabbing a piece of the flying glass before cutting the ribbon.

Swish...!!

At this moment, Koji Koda sent more paper birds while Hanta released more ribbons. Togi was in a tough spot. He was surrounded by enemies and had to dodge their attacks.

Toge made frantic movements, dodging the paper birds and ribbons. He was rising off the ground, then dropping quickly, avoiding the ribbons, then twisting to avoid the birds. The scene resembled a wild battle between Togi and Hanta, who kept shouting and releasing more ribbons, and Koji, who kept sending more birds.

Toge dodged the attacks with agility, but it seemed he had reached his limit. "Damn it..." Togi muttered aloud while dodging another ribbon.

As soon as Toge felt exhausted, he pulled away from the wall of the room where he had been fighting Hanta and Koji, and stepped out into the hall. He realized that fighting in closed spaces wasn't in his favor, as he was surrounded by opponents with long-range offensive abilities, while he relied on close combat. Even though he could use his ability, he decided to save it for later.

In the long, dark hallway, Toge ran quickly, with Hanta and Koji chasing him, releasing more ribbons and paper birds. The birds flew fast, and the ribbons wrapped around him, but Toge dodged them with agility, almost like dancing in the dark.

Toge suddenly stopped and looked down at the ground, where he found a small metal piece lying there. He smiled a mysterious smile, then picked it up before trying to activate his ability.

"Form..."

Toge was whispering the word, but before he could finish it, he felt a strong hand cover his mouth, preventing him from speaking. Toge looked behind him and saw Mezo Shoji standing there, holding his mouth and stopping him from using his ability.

"Let's see how you speak now, Toge," Shoji said quietly, his eyes glinting in the dark.

Toge had anticipated that Shoji would head to the bomb site, and he had planned to deal with him after defeating Hanta and Koji, but it seemed he was wrong. However, it didn't matter because he already knew what he had to do.

Bite...
