Chapter 1 - Prologue

In this magical world, every child is born beneath the blessing of a Moon Phase, which imprints a luminous sigil upon their body-known as a Moon Mark.

This mark defines their natural magical talent, elemental alignment, and even their status within the hierarchy of the magical academies.

Among these institutions stands Astraeon Academy, a hidden citadel floating in the sky, accessible only through moon-gate portals that open during rare eclipses.

Here, Moonborn students are trained in the arcane arts shaped by their lunar phase. To graduate is to step into a destiny as a guardian, mage, royal counselor-or something far more shadowed.

At Astraeon Academy, every newly admitted student is sorted into a Moon House, chosen according to the unique Moon Mark they bear.

There are five Moon Houses, each tied to a specific lunar phase. Every House possesses its own dormitories, mentors, training grounds, and a distinct magical specialty.

The Five Moon Houses:

House Ignis 🌕 (Full Moon)

House Ventu 🌒 (Waxing Crescent)

House Aqua 🌘 (Waning Crescent)

House Terra 🌓 (First Quarter)

House Umbra 🌑 (New Moon)

Each House specializes in a different form of lunar magic, reflecting the power of its Moon Phase.

The Full Moon, known as the Warrior's Moon, grants its bearers command over the fire element. Students of House Ignis excel in combat magic, using their flames to enhance their physical strength and speed, turning themselves into living weapons on the battlefield.

The Waxing Crescent, known as the Seeker's Moon, grants its bearers the element of air. Students under this mark are often gifted with an exceptional grasp of spells and incantations. Those who achieve advanced mastery can even wield illusion magic, a discipline that demands vast reserves of energy. In the rarest of cases, the Seeker's Moon whispers glimpses of the future to its chosen.

The Waning Crescent, or the Healer's Moon, bestows the gift of restoration and recovery. Bearers of this mark are often valued as supportive allies in battle, capable of mending wounds and revitalizing their companions. Yet whispers linger in the academy halls-rumors that the art of healing hides powers far deeper and far more dangerous than anyone dares to admit.

The First Quarter, called the Challenger's Moon, resonates with the element of earth, granting its students the strength to manipulate terrain and conjure unyielding barriers. Though defensive magic may seem unremarkable, its spells demand immense energy, and in skilled hands, can turn the tide of any battle.

Lastly, there is the New Moon, more commonly called the Shadow Moon. Few are ever born beneath this phase, for its magic is both rare and formidable. Those who bear this mark inspire awe and unease in equal measure, for their powers reach into the forbidden arts-the ability to summon spirits and even bend the flow of time itself.

Entry into Astraeon Academy requires meeting the school's power ranking standards, a hierarchy that classifies all Moonborn:

D Rank - The Unmarked, possessing little to no magical talent.

C to B Rank - Average Moonborn, with B Rank as the standard for admission.

A Rank - Lunar Crown, prodigies of noble bloodlines with extraordinary potential.

S Rank - Celestial, a level of power so rare it has not been seen for centuries.

Most students enter the academy at B Rank, while only a handful ascend to A Rank, their names whispered as future legends among the Moonborn.
