Alola was the second to be thrown off, but they quickly recovered upon learning that their Champion would be participating so therefore he should have at least a Z Bracelet.
—I have a doubt, will we see him win or lose?—Kukui said, thinking properly.
"I truly believe he has great potential, if he became our Champion. He shouldn't be so weak despite being young," Gabriel Oak said calmly.
—I'll try to trust him—Kukui said.
A smile spread across Gabriel Oak's face.

Kalos was the third to be thrown off guard, waiting to see who would be able to use Mega Evolution, but their Champion was more than ready to use it.
—It's really interesting who will use Mega Evolution, I don't believe that in years some Champion hasn't managed to use it.

Chesnaught's right arm lit up as he lunged at the opponent but Rillaboom blocked the attack without trouble although he had to jump back.
—That 's a strong Hammer Arm! But Rillaboom held his own!
Everyone focused on Rillaboom's resistance, the Hammer Arm move was too powerful for the World Champion's Grass-type Pokémon to withstand it so easily.
The foreign people were slowly beginning to understand why he was called the strongest, something they didn't like to admit.
—Those Pokémon are really amazing—Ash said excitedly.
—I must assume that those Pokémon must be from the Alan and Lionel Regions—Brock said, being attentive.
Misty looked at Rillaboom seriously, too much resistance...
Lionel lifted the Pokémon's Pokeball and brought it towards her.
The World Champion's action confused everyone who was not from Galar, not knowing what he was trying to do.

Diantha's gaze flashed as she noticed the Mega Stone on the silver necklace... Something that surprised her, then she remembered that Alan was wearing a black bracelet with a Key Stone.

Getting your hands on a Mega Evolution... It was a very special thing, and the fact that that Charizard could Mega Evolve meant that it would become stronger...

The people of Galar looked on in surprise at the defeat of their Champion's first Pokémon, even though he only used two Pokémon in battle. Hardly anyone defeats Rillaboom, let alone Charizard...

Alan looked at Charizard's phase in surprise. He was in the same situation, looking at his future self with such power... Was that the Mega Evolution Professor Sycamore always talked to him about? It really did look as surprising as he said.
Now he felt somewhat impatient to find the Mega Stone and the Key Stone to become much stronger.

Everyone looked on expecting good results, as it seemed that Mega Charizard X was triumphing over the Charizard.
Admiring the power of the Mega-Evolved Pokémon like no other, amazed by the strength it's gained right now. Truly impatient to see if their attacks will have any effect.
The people of Galar continued to support their Champion, not believing that a boy could defeat a powerful and experienced man.
Lionel was more hopeful seeing the advantage Mega Charizard X had over his Charizard, wanting to unleash its full strength without holding back.

Mega Charizard X surrounded itself with the fire charge and shot towards the slowly falling Charizard.
—Dragon Pulse !
Charizard recovered and launched the blue blast in dragon form. Mega Charizard X didn't have time to dodge it so he took the blow directly. He was sent crashing hard into the ground.
— Dragon Pulse is super effective!
Amidst the cloud of smoke, a glow activated, indicating that the Mega Evolution was complete... Dan approached to check on the Charizard's status.
—Participant Alan's Charizard can't continue! Participant Lionel's Charizard wins! Therefore, the winner is Participant Lionel!
Galar erupted in cheers, happy that their Champion had kept the other trainer's Charizard at bay so easily...
All the other people who knew about Mega Evolution were shocked, staring in disbelief at how Alan's Mega Charizard X was defeated with a single Dragon Pulse attack...
The rest of them just stood there stunned at Lionel's strength, all of them not even processing what they had just seen...
Then they understood that Lionel was on a higher level... No one would be able to harm even his Charizard, which defeated a Mega Evolved relative of his with such ease that it didn't seem real...
Lionel truly deserved those titles... The strongest and most invincible in the world, the reigning World Champion, the Undefeated Champion...
—Hey guys, is this really going to be real?—Ash said nervously.
Brock and Misty didn't respond, staring at the screen in eerie silence... Unbelievable how much strength that guy had...

People were annoyed that they wouldn't be able to see who was going to fight whom, and while that would make for a better plot... They couldn't stop agonizing over who would fight each other, the smarter ones were already developing ideas.
Alan approached his defeated Charizard, storing the fire-powered flyer in its Pokeball as Mairin was shown crying in sadness and Sycamore comforting her.
