Chapter 6 - Iris Vs Cynthia

Hello everyone, here once again to give you a piece of enjoyable reaction.

And I really think that each chapter of PWC battles I write becomes longer than the last.

Anything that appears does not belong to me...

(.......)

The stadium erupted with excitement as the Champions took their places.

— Third fight of the first round .

Cynthia stopped her advance by standing in her place, placing herself in a pose she always did in her battles.

— Participant Cynthia, Champion of Sinnoh, is on the field .

Iris walked over as well until she stopped in her place.

—On the other hand, the participant Iris, Champion of Unova .

They both exchanged kind glances even though they were about to fight.

— It will be a confrontation between the majestic Queen of Sinnoh and a young Champion .

The people of Unova and the people of Sinnoh were giving all their attention to their Champion maidens, wanting to observe the outcome between two Pokémon trainers.

Although on the Unova side... They were hesitant and nervous because of Iris. Understandably so, who would have thought that Alter would be dethroned by a young trainer?

The rest of the crowd was also surprised to see Cynthia facing a rookie Champion who probably hadn't been around long.

Some assumed that Cynthia would win easily, not for nothing she was in 2nd place right behind Lionel and although those positions don't mean anything... They were very confident in the blonde's power.

Cynthia looked closely at the girl she was about to face... Interested and curious about her, how capable was she that she managed to defeat Alter? In addition to the description of the presentation, they said she specialized in Dragon Pokémon like Lance.

How capable would her strongest Dragon be against her Garchomp? Regardless, I was excited and eager to see how much I had improved.

...

Iris nervously watched the aforementioned Queen of Sinnoh, although for a moment she also saw the maturity of her future self.

She still couldn't fully grasp the prospect of becoming a Champion of her Region in the future; she had so many questions, but there was no one to answer them.

How powerful were his Pokémon? How did he beat Alter in the League? Also... Would it be enough to defeat Cynthia and continue in the PWC?

Dan reintroduced himself.

—It'll be a 3 vs 3 battle! All right, now, send your first Pokémon onto the field! 3, 2, 1, go!

—¡Go, Excadrill!

—Rise from the waves, Gastrodon!

Both of them threw their Pokeballs , opening them in the air.

The Water and Earth Pokémon appeared on the part of Sinnoh.

The little drill Pokémon appeared from Unova.

—Gastrodon vs. Excadrill! What kind of battle is about to unfold?!

Many people looked analytically at the chosen Pokémon, wanting to know how good it would be if opponents of the same type would face each other.

Iris shook off some of her nerves when she noticed the Steel Ground Pokémon, looking at the little one with a smile...

When would she catch him? Something that really excited her: increasing her Pokémon's space to give partners to her Axew, who looked at Excadrill in amusement.

—Come on, we can...

...

Cynthia looked at her Gastrodon with a smile, now having the information that it would be the first of her 3 choices to join the field and fight.

To then look at the Excadrill and Iris's confidence, making her really motivated to show him why she was one of the youngest trainers to become Champion.

—Let's see what you have, Iris.

...

Alter looked seriously at Iris, noticing that she had great confidence in herself when facing the very Champion of Sinnoh... Something that gave her great pleasure.

A smile grew on his face, it seemed that the girl really had the guts to show Cynthia that determination to win.

And if that were the case, I'd have no choice but to support her, wanting to see what level she possessed.

—Let the battle begin!

—Gastrodon! Rain Dance !

Dark clouds suddenly appeared and raindrops fell rapidly.

— It's starting to rain! The power of Water moves is increasing!

—¡Excadrill! ¡ Metal Claw !

Excadrill nodded in acceptance and ran forward at high speed, colliding the drills in his arms.

— Metal Claw cuts through the rain!

The drills began to glow.

—Gastrodon, receive it!

Gastrodon braced himself and then got hit, but something was happening.

— It hits the target ...! Oh, it's bouncing!

Excadrill jumps back seeing that his attack was in vain.

—That Excadrill sure does get noticed fast.

Cynthia looked at the small Pokémon intensely, it could be a small problem... For a Pokémon of that category, it could give her a few problems.

But she was sure that luck would end, she was a woman full of experience and there was little that girl could do.

...

Iris admired the level of her Pokémon, it seemed really fast and that could help her.

Although she also looked fearfully at Gastrodon's Rain Dance, something that generally worried her about the strategies Cynthia could use.

—Your movement is getting faster and faster.

—You taught me a lot, Miss Cynthia.

A flashback image appeared next to Iris, showing an old Pokémon battle between her and Cynthia.

—The advice you gave us back then still helps us today. Thanks to you, I even became Champion! And today, Iris, the Champion of Unova, will defeat you, Miss Cynthia!

Several locations in Unova were shown, where well-known people watched the match on screens.

Iris and Excadrill showed great determination in their words.

The spectators looked on in awe at what was shown, not expecting in any way that the young Champion of Unova would have faced the Champion of Sinnoh much earlier.

And it seems that this had already happened a few years ago... The young woman's inexperience and her barely strong Axew were evident.

Although the appearances of those public figures like the gym leader and the former Champion also watched the event on broadcast with company, quite surprised by those who did not expect to see themselves there.

Cynthia gasped at the sight of herself as an instructor, then smiled a little, if she ever paid any attention to the brunette.

So now he was more interested, wanting to find out what kind of relationship they once had in the past. Also, why did she go to Unova? Or else, why did Iris go to Sinnoh?

...

Iris gasped in excitement at being taught by the newly proclaimed Queen of Sinnoh, truly amazed that she had a great future ahead of her.

She couldn't believe what she would achieve in the future: defeating Alter to become her Region's Champion. Was this her entire future?

Axew also stared in astonishment in his place, looking at his future counterpart from the memory... How strong had he become in the hands of his trainer?

A fact I was also excited to know.

...

Alter placed an intense look on her face... With a relaxed and satisfied smile to see that she supported her future successor.

Although also surprised that Cynthia was the one who was going to take the position of instructor but that was going to change from this moment, so with great effort.

He would be tasked with finding Iris's location, establishing a good connection with her, and beginning to guide her if she was determined to obtain her position.

—Gastrodon! Muddy Water !

—Focus blast !

The wave of liquid mud moved quickly and Excadrill gathered energy to form a centered sphere until it was covered.

By the time the mud cleared, it revealed a somewhat damaged Excadrill.

—When we're here, you and I are just Pokémon Trainers. And challengers who want to reach the top! I won't be gentle with you! To test my potential... I'll defeat you and move on!

Few places in Sinnoh were shown, where many people watched everything via streaming.

Everyone agreed with the Sinnoh Champion's harsh words, as they weren't in a normal place where they could coexist.

They were at the Pokémon World Championships! An event far bigger than a League or a title race.

They had to behave like the trainers they were and not as they were known outside of Pokémon battles, this was serious...

Neither of them had to trust each other despite being close.

Cynthia erased any ties of docility, remembering that they were in a moment in which things were being asked to be excessively serious.

So now putting on a stern expression, he looked at the young Champion exactly, wanting to know what she would do now that she was free.

However, his spoken words would prove just how hypocritical he was later on... In the semi-finals against a certain Champion.

...

Iris swallowed nervously at her opponent's dictatorship, knowing he was right.

Still, she couldn't help it. She was a 10-year-old girl who had no desire to embark on a journey to prove her worth to the world.

...

Paul and Reggie looked somewhat surprised at his appearance on the screen...

For being from the future, they didn't look bad at all.

Although Reggie could notice something positive and then smiled instinctively... His brother would manage to change.

—Gastrodon! Acid Armor !

A purple aura surrounded Gastrodon as it fell a little.

—Excavation !

Excadrill launched himself and brought his arms together, beginning to spin at high speeds. He transformed into a small but dangerous drill.

Cynthia just smiled as her Gastrodon was hit but then they went back to their positions.

— Wow, Gastrodon isn't afraid of Excavation!

—Don't worry, Excadrill!

Everyone noticed that both Pokémon were resistant, a case of equal statistics between the two.

Speed and agility were all attributes of Excadrill, on the strength side they couldn't decide because Gastrodon was getting help from the water storm with its attacks.

Still, the encounter was good enough to surprise everyone.

After Alan's humiliation, Lance's recklessness and madness, there was this encounter that they wanted to enjoy with gusto.

Hoping neither of them will suffer the same fate as the other matches, which, while entertaining, were hoping to see something more spectacular.

—It's your turn, Gastrodon! Muddy Water !

—¡Excadrill Escape!

The Muddy Water wave was released quickly, Excadrill hit the ground at the last moment.

— Excadrill has been swallowed by Gastrodon's Mud Water again!

Excadrill tried to resist the force of the wave, holding himself in place with his left drill stuck into the ground. However, this would slowly begin to damage him .

This to Iris 's frustration who grimaced .

Iris looked worriedly at Excadrill, would this be her first defeat?

I didn't really want to; I was just starting the CMP and I wanted to put on a good performance. Something the other spectators would want to see.

So he put all his faith in his little Pokémon, he really wanted to beat Cynthia with all his effort.

—I'll put my faith in Excadrill and bet on this move! Horn Drill !

Clasping his arms together, Excadrill jumped sharply as his drills began to glow and plummet straight down.

—It's a devastating blow!

Excadrill powerfully struck Gastrodon, sending the wave of water soaring upwards that the Drill Pokémon would return to its original location.

And by the time the wave of Muddy Water cleared, it revealed the Gastrodon lying on the ground.

—Gastrodon can't continue!

— Excadrill takes the win with a stunning blow! Contestant Cynthia is the first to earn a Defeat .

People looked at this change of situation in surprise. That had been unexpected.

They had imagined that Excadrill would end there, it seemed that Iris's faith in her Pokémon was something that was needed to destroy Gastrodon.

—We defeated Gastrodon!

Iris was an emotional time bomb, as well as a poorly made radio because of the way her emotions changed.

Well, she had gone from insecurity to confidence to joy in record time, something few women in the world managed to achieve.

Axew was also happy, watching his trainer's reactions with amusement. It seemed that all of this was making her quite nervous, and he hoped he could help her change that and give her all the confidence she needed.

...

A warm smile grew on Cynthia's face as she looked at that, the girl really had great confidence in her Pokémon.

She liked that the girl was very similar to her on her path as a Pokémon trainer, everything was very similar to what she had to go through when she was young.

And now, he managed to weaken his Gastrodon with that clever opportunity he noticed while crossing the Muddy Water.

...

Misty smiled proudly for some reason at seeing the young Champion... Maybe it was an intuition to show the world that girls were also capable of having giant opportunities.

Brock looked at Iris with a silly smile and a small blush... That had been spectacular but destiny wouldn't choose that woman for the boy, even he knew it.

Ash was amazed. That girl was showing off, and his Pikachu was also fascinated by the power of that Excadrill.

Hoping that both of them could put on a great show, and show the world Ash Ketchum's capabilities!

Especially to certain people who came to mind...

The rainstorm also cleared up, ending once and for all.

—This is where the Rain Dance effect ends .

Iris started jumping around, Excadrill celebrated by clicking their drills together.

—We did it!

Again.

Some people were already irritated by Iris's childish actions, thank goodness Alan had completely recovered. But there were also doubts about Ash's personality.

Some other people were just amused by Iris's personality, I understand they were just kids who wanted to win.

So, ahead of their time... The world's top brass decided to label them " The Rookie Three ." A trio of young players with a lot of potential under their belts.

Cynthia just returned Gastrodon to his Pokeball.

—Thanks for your work, Gastrodon.

Putting that one away and taking out another Pokeball, Cynthia got ready.

—Spirit of the water, show your elegance, Milotic!

The Pokeball opened to reveal the Water Pokémon in all its beauty.

— Participant Cynthia sends Milotic!

Cynthia looked happily at Milotic, it seemed that all her Pokémon were going to be in good condition and ready for anything.

He was really pleased that all his valued companions would remain strong and healthy.

Now he was moved by the beauty of his Milotic, and he'd undoubtedly improve in the future. He pondered what kind of training they had to go through to be at the same level.

...

Iris looked closely at that Water-type Pokémon, admiring its beauty as it settled on the field.

But she was also worried because Excadrill was already somewhat injured and now had a type disadvantage. It seemed like it was going to fall to her after defeating her Gastrodon, since Milotic was entirely Water-type.

...

As they also admired Milotic's elegance when leaving the Pokeball.

Ash and Brock were speechless as they looked at Misty.

The water leader was admiring the water-type Pokémon, fantasizing about the wonderful creature as it showed itself as Cynthia's second Pokémon.

— Now, how will Iris, who has the advantage, respond?

—Hurry up, Excadrill! Excavation !

Excadrill launched itself in drill form again.

—Hydropump !

Milotic easily dodges the surprised Excadrill, then spits out a powerful stream of water that connects directly.

— It's a direct hit from Hydro Pump!

The Hydropump headed for the stadium wall, leaving the weakened Excadrill pinned down.

—Excadrill can't continue!

No one was surprised by the result, it was more than obvious.

Excadrill was already tired and was at a total team disadvantage against Milotic, they didn't have to be master strategists to know what was about to happen.

—Iris really has a chance in this world, she showed great skill against Gastrodon—Said Samuel Oak smiling.

—It's a shame that Excadrill was defeated in one hit, I was hoping to see more performance—Gary said, sipping on the tea he prepared.

He himself knew that was impossible. That Excadrill was destined to fall to Milotic, no matter how they were defeated.

His grandfather focused on ignoring him, knowing that he was just bragging.

...

If Paul was with Gary, then they would agree.

A similar case was also happening there, as Reggie was trying to let it go this time.

Unless that Excadrill was tremendously trained, it couldn't exactly rival that Milotic.

Iris returns Excadrill to his Pokeball.

—Excadrill, you've done a great job.

The young woman put away the Pokeball, looking seriously at Milotic.

—How fast, I couldn't read Milotic's movements!

— Now it's a loss for contestant Iris!

—Dragonite, I'm counting on you!

Iris throws the Pokeball that revealed a Dragonite.

Yes, they knew that Iris loved Dragon types like Lance.

But seeing that he had a Dragonite in his ranks left them crooked.

Iris squealed with joy at the sight of that powerful Dragonite, it seemed like things would get much better in the future.

—See, Axew?! It's a Dragonite! We can actually be more powerful! Everyone will find out about our abilities!

Axew looked at the intimidating Dragonite, which still couldn't compare to the one Lance had... Iris's looked very well trained.

And of course, that only increased her desire to see how powerful he would be.

...

Cynthia gasped in surprise at seeing that Dragonite, she really didn't expect the girl to have one of those legendary dragons.

Then he shifted his gaze to one of analysis, looking at the behavior and all the other attributes of that amazing Flying Dragon.

—You're doing it well, it would be interesting to have a meeting.

Seeing that formidable opponent made her incredibly excited. Truly interested in facing that Iris girl, she always enjoyed pushing her Pokémon's limits time and time again to become the strongest in the world.

So if that girl exceeded all his expectations, then he would do everything in his power to find her and see what happened in their not-so-reunion.

...

Lance looked at that Dragonite with a smile, his other companions were surprised.

"A Dragonite? That means you really want to train her for the same pleasure," Lorelei said, amused.

—It's no game, girl, training a Dragonite to that category doesn't make it easy at all—Agatha said seriously.

—Yes, I'm amazed that girl can have one—Bruno said smiling.

Lance nodded; he really wanted to be her mentor in Dragons. There were few people who shared his passion for those mythical Pokémon, and finding someone who had a future with them...

It made him jump with excitement!

He had never been an instructor, but there was always a first time...

Mr. Charles Goodshow smiled delightedly at everyone's reactions.

If the Pokémon World Championships were a good project in the end, then I would try to negotiate all of this in each Region to see if I could move forward at once...

—Wow, long time no see.

—Miss Cynthia, please see this! The power of Dragonite!

With that interaction, everyone understood that Cynthia had already fought that Dragonite.

Which only meant one thing...

That Iris had captured him since she was a rookie. But how could that happen?!

Then they realized that those kids had more potential than they ever thought.

Starting to take a much greater interest in these young people, perhaps when this is over. Supporting them to reach the level they were at in the future, and if necessary, helping them surpass it.

—Thunder Punch !

Dragonite's fists were surrounded by a tremendous force of electricity.

The next thing on the scene was Milotic receiving all those discharges in constant punches.

Leaving the Water Pokémon to die as a full-scale shock washed over her.

—An Electric move that's super effective against Water-types! It's working!

Lance happily watched the Dragonite show off; he had always had a great affection for that Pokémon race. It was no small feat for being his most powerful and beloved companion, although he also didn't neglect the fact that his other companions might be equally or less powerful.

The others watched the Dragonite closely; he really did look strong. It seemed the girl had trained him really well.

The League president simply stared too intently, genuinely happy that his planned target was shining.

...

Reggie and Paul watched the fight intently, not missing a single second.

—That Dragonite is well trained, although not on par with Lance's Dragonite—Paul said seriously.

Reggie nodded in agreement, even so. He could easily sense all the potential Iris had yet to unleash.

"The girl has her moments, it must be said," Reggie said with a smile.

...

Samuel Oak looked with pleasure at the new level that the new generation of trainers had flourished, demonstrating their great space in the immense magical world for those mythical creatures.

Gary simply watched in anticipation, trying to understand that if when his Pokémon reached the full strength he could give them... Would they be able to compete against those Champions' Pokémon?

Because to be honest, they were all too powerful to be bragging.

—An Electric-Type attack, that woman has to act fast—Gary said.

—Yes, it could be a tricky point for her if Dragonite has another move of the same type—Said Samuel Oak nodding.

Milotic was able to rest a little when the effect wore off.

—Disarming Voice!

The Fairy sound wave hit its target, severely damaging Dragonite.

—It 's a Fairy move! It works wonders against Dragon-types!

Now they were stumped. Both Pokémon had moves that were too strong for their opponent, so they would need luck to win.

A really tense situation, isn't it?

—Now you can contradict each other, I wouldn't want to be one of them—Misty said, sighing heavily.

—Yes, but don't forget that Ash's confrontation continues after this one, and that's where you really have reasons to worry.

Misty looked at Brock waiting for an explanation.

—Ash and Hoenn Champion Steve haven't battled. And they're the only ones missing. What do you think?

Misty listened in surprise, then looked down thoughtfully and looked at Ash...

He wasn't worried at all, since he didn't realize that his confrontation would be next.

Just concentrating on watching the screen for the all-important battle.

Dragonite fell to one knee as the move ended, worrying his trainer.

—Dragonite, hold on!

—¡Milotic!

Dragonite was surrounded by Milotic who wrapped around him, squeezing hard to further injure the Flying Dragon.

-Curse!

—Iron Head !

Milotic's forehead was covered with steel and he hit Dragonite hard in the face, which stunned him, and then left him.

—¡Dragonite!

The poor Pokémon fell to the ground completely defeated.

—Dragonite can't continue!

— Milotic's swift attack leaves Dragonite at its mercy! Participant Iris receives another black star!

Iris looked sadly at her second fallen Pokémon, now she didn't know what to do with the disadvantage.

Once again, he was insecure about how he could defeat that Milotic. He hoped that at least Dragonite would do enough work to weaken him as much as possible.

That's when Axew got serious, he would have to save his trainer from perdition... No matter how, but now he wanted to support her and hoped that his future self would manage to defeat that Milotic.

...

Cynthia looked at the defeated Dragonite with a smile, now wanting to find out what that girl would do with the disadvantage she had now.

Now the girl was at the same disadvantage as Alan, she wanted to find out what his tactics would be to get out... Since the boy had decided to use his Charizard's fire to end it.

But she probably wouldn't have any Pokémon available to battle, leaving only her last hope... Her strongest Pokémon.

Of course, if that Dragonite hadn't been one.

Iris regretfully puts her Pokémon away.

—Dragonite, it's frustrating, isn't it? My Pokémon's pain... I feel it too! Watch me , I'll win next time!

Some approved of this action, truly confident that friendship and connection with Pokémon was crucial... It simply made them stronger.

Others disapproved of this action, not at all confident that friendship and connection with Pokémon was crucial... It simply made them weaker.

You can imagine who each one is.

The girl puts away the Pokeball to get another one.

—Haxorus! He asked you to do it!

Iris's most powerful Dragon Pokémon entered the field, letting out a great roar.

—Miss Cynthia! When I became Champion, he was the one who finished the battle! He always gives me strength!

A gasp was the first thing Iris let out, looking in amazement and excitement at that powerful Haxorus.

Just like on screen, the girl started jumping around happily with her Axew in her arms. Truly happy to see her future friend so strong and healthy.

—Look at that, Axew! You're going to turn into one hell of a Haxorus!

Axew was also happy with the results, hoping to give Iris the win and advance to the semifinals.

—And it's thanks to you that I'll be Champion! You don't know how much I love you now!

Axew let out a cry of excitement, as if he wanted to compare it to the powerful roar of his future self who was already a great Haxorus tamer.

...

The woman listened attentively to that conversation, increasing her desire to fight against her.

If Haxorus was the big winner that gave her the title of Champion and gave great support to her trainer, then it meant that she was even more special than all of her Pokémon that she uses.

So he came to the conclusion that Milotic would not have a guaranteed victory, even after receiving those thunderous punches.

...

Lance looked at that Pokémon with a smile, that must be his most powerful companion.

—The Pokémon that made her Champion, huh...

The others also looked on with smiles on their faces, the match was about to go up a level.

Still, there was the fact that that Milotic still had a dangerous Fairy move.

Cynthia smiled understandingly, eventually returning to her serious face to follow the image.

—Milotic! Disarming Voice !

—Psycho cut !

The purple cuts easily destroyed the captivating song, surprising the opponents.

-Very good.

They had to give that one to Iris's Haxorus.

He had stopped that Captivating Voice with great skill, increasing the excitement of many other people.

Because if Milotic was defeated... They knew what the Queen of Sinnoh's next Pokémon would be.

—Giga Impact !

—Hydropump !

Haxorus's tail glowed purple and with a swipe it cut through the water stream easily, hitting Milotic hard who screamed in pain as he was sent flying.

—Passing through the Hydropump, Giga Impact explodes!

Milotic finally falls a few meters behind Cynthia who doesn't even turn around.

Dan walked over to check the Pokémon.

—Milotic can't continue!

Haxorus roared as Iris jumped.

—That was so cool, Haxorus!

For once, people ignored Iris's childish side to analyze the situation...

That Haxorus needed 2 moves to finish off Milotic, showing the world that his power was attainable to that of an exemplary Champion.

Now they could understand why it was the most powerful Pokémon of the Unova Champion, how interesting...

Iris pointed with her hand at the roaring Pokémon, Axew was on the girl's other arm.

—You are strong, very powerful! We must reach for that and go beyond!

Axew agreed, truly wanting to surpass the level of his future counterpart.

...

—That Pokémon is too powerful, he trained it well.

Gary nodded to prove his agreement with his grandfather, it was no longer surprising to him to know why she was the future Champion of Unova.

—I skillfully blocked that Fairy move and counterattacked with gigantic power.

He didn't need an answer from his grandfather to know that he agreed.

Both looked ahead, the battle was getting closer to the final phase.

...

Alter nodded, pleased to see the girl's power, enough power to deserve the title of Pokémon Master.

—He really has the talent, although he lacks character.

— You fought well, Milotic.

Cynthia positively guards the Pokémon.

— Participant Cynthia is also left with only one Pokémon .

—Take to the skies...! Garchomp!

Cynthia threw the Pokeball as high as she could, releasing her powerful Garchomp which landed skillfully on the field.

Something that forced Iris to activate all her neurological engines.

—So here you are, Garchomp...

— Cynthia's third Pokémon is her best partner, whose countless battles have become legends... Garchomp!

All the inhabitants of Sinnoh looked at the Pokémon that represented their Region because of Cynthia, many being excited or already thinking that the battle was over for Haxorus and Iris.

Cynthia clapped her hands with a giggle as she saw her Garchomp stronger and more powerful than she'd ever seen before. It was basically obvious they'd taken advantage of all those years in the future to train him properly.

—Come on, I want to see the great power you will gain...

...

Iris stopped celebrating at the appearance of the monstrous Dragon that Cynthia always carried with her as a last resort in official battles and not in challenges against rookie trainers.

Axew looked seriously at his main combatant in the battle, that Garchomp would really give his future counterpart trouble.

...

Reggie looked on with a smile, Paul kept a strict face at all times.

"That girl already lost," Paul said.

-Because?

—Garchomp isn't Cynthia's best Pokémon so far for nothing, and if she's using it as a last resort with that much confidence... It's because she's got an ace up her sleeve.

Both Dragons looked at each other intensely.

— Now, how will Iria and Haxorus fight this?

No one spoke, being under constant observation.

Wanting to see how the battle would unfold.

—Let it rain upon us, stars of the heavens! Draco Meteor !

Garchomp fired a ball of power into the sky that multiplied and began to fall like stars from the heavens.

—Rage !

Haxorus's eyes turned red, as he angrily attacked those meteors. He didn't let any of them harm him as he moved forward at high speed.

— Haxorus carelessly charges at the Draco Meteor!

Both Dragons roared as they headbutted each other, followed by an entertaining exchange of blows.

— It's a fierce exchange of blows!

The great silence of the spectators demonstrated their amazement, looking as if something super cool new was being discovered at the same time.

Haxorus's bravery out of anger and Garchomp's power was something that impressed them, the tournament left them speechless again.

Just when they thought Iris was lost, she re-emerged unexpectedly to confront Cynthia despite everything.

"She has a lot more power than I imagined," Brock said, surprised.

—That Haxorus is brave, maybe braver than that Pikachu—Misty whispered with a blank face.

Ash let out a snort of surprise, Pikachu was gaping above his head.

...

—He really can go toe-to-toe with that Garchomp.

Gary was incredulous. How could that girl pull that off? That Haxorus was quite skilled.

—Didn't you hear? It's thanks to that Pokémon that she managed to become a Champion.

Professor Samuel Oak smiled slightly, holding back a small laugh that wanted to emerge.

...

Paul's face was not ready, Reggie might have had the urge to laugh if he had been paying attention.

Being in the same state as the other 5 who had already said something in Kanto.

They took the moment to jump back.

—But neither of them falls!

Haxorus's anger ended, as he roared as he felt the consequences of the move.

— Oh! Haxorus is confused by the Anger effect!

The Pokémon thumped its head hard against the ground, trying to get out of the confusion.

— What is this? Haxorus hit his head to get out of the confusion .

Cynthia smiled, slightly amazed.

—It's not over, not yet. We can still keep fighting!

—You are wonderful, Iris.

Once again, the whole world was clearly surprised.

Rookie Iris was really shining in front of the crowd this time. Why couldn't they finally take a break from the show that was put on for this Championship?

If this happened to Iris and Alan, they didn't want to know what kind of talent Ash had... Or maybe some did want to see the result of his journey around the world.

A surprised laugh escaped Alter, which began to escalate into full-blown laughter. He seemed to still be in the same state of shock that had gripped the world just a few minutes ago.

—That girl is a box of surprises! Hahaha! Look at how she can get rid of confusion with a blow to the head!

It had been tried before but it just left the Pokémon worse with confusion, now here was a trainer with her Pokémon who had a different result.

—This is...! Hahaha.

...

—Are you serious?!

Gary exploded in disbelief and anger. Was that girl crazy?

His grandfather began to laugh uncontrollably, causing his situation to get worse.

...

Iris stared in astonishment, not saying a word. Although she blushed slightly from embarrassment at the compliment from the woman her future self was facing.

Axew looked blank, not expecting his future doppelgänger to have done that.

...

—That coach is incredibly cool!

Ash exclaimed excitedly, Pikachu agreed by saying things in his race's language.

Brock and Misty stood perplexed in place.

...

—This... No, Iris.

Cynthia looked at her with a smile, that young Champion of Unova really had a future.

—You're someone to admire. But I have a feeling this is going to end here.

...

—Amazing! Did you see that?!

Charizard looked at the Haxorus in surprise, not being able to answer Lionel.

—Now, let's do it! Haxorus!

—Yes. In that case...

Cynthia took out an open lipstick and put more color on her lower lip.

—I will defeat you with all my might!

The Lipstick proved to have a Key Stone by giving it another angle of perspective.

-That is...!

People gaped at the stone in the lipstick, now knowing its purpose from the other two battles they had seen...

Even Cynthia went the other way when she noticed that stone...

"Garchomp... Mega Evolve !"

The Keystone began to release its abbreviation energy, when then a Garchompnite appeared out of nowhere releasing the crucial energy.

Both sources combined to form the transformation energy and begin taking the Pokémon to its fourth secret evolution.

To finally reveal its final form, with extraordinary power and the bicolor DNA will light up.

Cynthia's excitement and happiness were priceless, looking with other emotions to her future Mega Garchomp.

Having a Mega Evolution meant a lot; becoming stronger was his determination to do what he did. You can imagine his reaction to seeing his Pokémon so powerful.

Now I could admire the fourth evolution that everyone has been talking about since the Mega Charizard X from the first PWC battle. And she had something similar!

...

Professor Sycamore could be crying tears of joy right now, he was gathering a lot of information about Mega Evolution that he had been studying so much when it was recently discovered.

He was able to safely contemplate what a Mega Charizard X was thanks to his former assistant Alan, he was able to safely contemplate what a Mega Gardevoir was thanks to Champion Diantha and now he could study about a Mega Garchomp thanks to Champion Cynthia.

Mairin, on the other hand, was very surprised to see the three strongest Pokémon of the previous participants Mega Evolve. They were making great progress on that score.

...

The others were admiring the Mega Evolved Dragon Pokémon, gaining a power unattainable for an ordinary Pokémon. Perhaps rivaling an extraordinary legendary.

—Charizard, Gardevoir, and now this Garchomp...

Reggie nodded humorously at Paul's disbelief, but he could also agree with his question.

How many Kalos Mega Evolutions would be seen in the CMP? It seemed to be more famous and well-known than the Galarian Gigantamax.

Valuable information to study, as I could see that that power could become dangerous or something else.

...

Disbelief took hold of Iris when she saw how that Garchomp went Mega in a moment, surely making it stronger.

So, now somewhat discouraged, the girl took her little Axew in her arms, who curled up to feel more comfortable.

—I hope we win, Axew.

Mega Garchomp let out a roar that Haxorus returned.

—Dragon Claw !

Mega Garchomp launched forward as his hands glowed green.

—Haxorus! Lure him out and use Psycho Cut !

Mega Garchomp advanced, launching its blow, Haxorus managed to stop it with its blades that lit up purple.

—It's a clash of tremendous powers!

—GO!

Mega Garchomp and Haxorus began to hit each other with their chosen moves in a non-stop flurry.

Many were amazed by the course of the battle, how could they not be?

That Haxorus seemed to be matching the power of Mega Garchomp, something that surprised more than thousands of people around the world who watched everything on the screens.

Iris for the first time found herself expectant, refusing to feel hopeful even though Haxorus was slowly following Garchomp.

Axew watched intently with fire in his gaze, not wanting his future self to dare lose.

...

Cynthia stood strict, looking at everything coldly...

That girl was really achieving what was thought to be impossible. How could she achieve such a level at such a young age?

Matching a Mega Evolved Pokémon, and having it be a trained Garchomp was no game.

Now I understood the motto much more... "The next generation is stronger than the previous one."

—Dragon Pulse !

Haxorus spat out the sky-blue shot that hit Mega Garchomp with great power.

Mega Garchomp was sent reeling back to a stop by slamming its blades into the ground, proving it could continue by raising its head.

Once again, Haxorus surprised everyone, knocking back a Mega Garchomp with just one move of the same type.

—Is that so? Okay.

Alter scratched the back of his neck with a smile... Then he put on a serious expression and let his hands hang loose.

—It's a priority to go find her, she really is very strong and that Haxorus... It really carries great power.

...

—Did he really knock back a Pokémon like that?

—Professor Sycamore...

The Professor was in shock, staring at the priceless screen.

Mairin was in a better state, although she continued to be surprised.

Was that girl superior to Alan or what?

...

Giovanni smiled as he looked at this, his henchmen were already standing around him looking for orders.

—I want you to find the girl, her talent could serve Team Rocket for too long.

Once they left, the evil man smiled maliciously...

If his plans came to fruition, then his goal was going to expand into something really big.

—Almost there! I'll sharpen my mind... and become one with my Pokémon.

Iris raised her arm to extend her palm, entering a mental space with her Pokémon.

[[[[[[ Iris appeared, gently touching Haxorus's back.

—Haxorus. This is our final attack.

I look at Haxorus.

—Let's give it our all! ]]]]]]

People were very surprised by the connection they made. Was their bond so strong that they could achieve that?

This surprised even the trainers and cold-hearted people, who of course only saw Pokémon as weapons...

Then they began to feel jealous and angry. How could those useless people with feelings for Pokémon manage to become stronger? Because their bonds with Pokémon only made them weaker.

Cynthia watched closely at the confidence her opponents displayed, causing her to become strict now.

—Garchomp, finish her off with the next move. Draco Meteor !

With gigantic celestial power, Mega Garchomp performs the meteor shower with new power levels.

—Haxorus! Dragon Pulse !

With a new charge of extreme power, Haxorus fires that celestial power at the meteors that were already beginning to fall.

The two Pokémon stood as the great curtain of earth dissipated, until then with a slight movement...

Haxorus was the one who collapsed on the ground.

—Haxorus can't continue! Garchomp wins! Therefore, the winner is contestant Cynthia!

— It's finally over!

Iris walked forward.

— In the third match of the first round, the victory goes to participant Cynthia!

Although many had already expected that ending, they had to admit that Iris had great power.

—That girl has a lot of power, that Haxorus managed to compete with Cynthia's Mega Garchomp—Bruno said.

—I train that Haxorus really well, for a moment I thought it would go further in battle—Agatha said, closing her eyes.

—Yes, me too—Lorelei said.

Lance nodded, it seemed Iris had more potential than he thought... This would be more entertaining.

...

—Can you imagine? That Haxorus fought really well!

—Pika Pi.

Ash spoke to his Pikachu as if he understood him, really excited.

—Iris has great power, I must say.

Misty nodded at Brock's words, that girl had really surprised them.

The battle had been a great dizzying war of advantages and disadvantages, with Cynthia finally taking the victory.

And now, the next fight...

...

Alter, who had remained silent all this time, decided to start moving.

Already having several plans from what I had seen.

—Well, now I'll have to find you... Iris.

...

Professor Samuel Oak mentally prepared himself for what was to come in the next battle.

—Ready, Gary?

Gary nodded seriously, staring intently at the screen.

—Let's see how much you improve in the future, Ashy Boy.

...

—They all have amazing, very powerful Pokémon along with that connection of friendship...

Reggie looked at his brother who tensed, trembling slightly as he mumbled things that he could easily hear... He really wanted to help him, but he had to grow up once and for all and this was a good opportunity.

—What do I have to do to reach those levels? Being strong is supposed to be everything in this world... I... I...

Paul looked ahead with a sad face.

—Did I make a mistake in my path?

Cynthia started walking and arrived just as the Mega Evolution in Garchomp was undone.

—Garchomp... You fought well. Thank you.

Iris knelt down to hug her last fallen Pokémon.

—You did what you could, Haxorus.

Haxorus looked at her, Iris came closer.

—Haxorus... Dragonite... Excadrill... I love you all..

—¿Iris?

Cynthia showed up in front.

—Miss Cynthia... Thank you very much. I'll get much stronger.

—It was an unforgettable battle. You also have my thanks.

—And so, contestant Cynthia advances to the semi-finals!

Iris let out a sigh and then smiled, she wasn't going to get depressed over that.

He could simply improve and come back stronger in that future to fight with everything he had.

—We're not going to give up, Axew. We're going to show the world your capabilities.

Axew grunted in agreement.

...

Cynthia clapped with a friendly smile.

Iris fought quite well, she deserved all the respect.

...

Lionel had a big smile on his face, indicating his happiness.

—Today's youth have grown stronger, I can't wait to fight my next opponent...

...

Steve smiled with his eyes closed, placing all his respect and trust in Iris.

Everything she showed in combat had been enough for him to believe in her good heart and her love for battles.

...

That's when Ash had a strange feeling in his chest.

What should that be?

(.......)

Iris and Cynthia, in my humble opinion... She managed to surpass the other battles before that one. And your opinion?

I mean, Lionel totally humiliated Alan and although he won Diantha's fight thanks to his intelligence... The one I liked the most was the one between Iris and Cynthia.

You're desperate to read the Ash vs Steve episode, and I'll make it clear that I am too.
