Chapter 2 - 01 : The kiss beneath the moonlight

A Kiss Below the Moon

My phone has only now begun to ring.

I took my phone out of my pocket and answered right away.

Hello?

Hey Zac, Xavier, my elder brother, said he had been waiting for you for some time now. Still coming to Zyrons bachelor party?

I breathe out forcefully.

I am going this direction.

I ended the call and tucked my phone back into my pocket without hope of a reply.

I looked at the telescope I was carrying. I had been alone on this vacant lot for more than an hour, marking stars and allowing the stars to lead me away from everything else. I reached for the telescope and carefully placed it in the trunk of the car. Following that, I sped into the darkness from the driver's seat.

A few minutes later, I got to our family's hotel. The amazing burst of rainbow-colored lights blinking along the beach met me exactly as I exited the car. From the beach, strong music tore across the salty breeze. From far away, I could see a few of our friends already gathered.

I started walking for them.

Hi Zac!

The attack aimed at Trixie, Zyronmy's sister's fianc. He was grinning lethargically and grasping a bottle of beer.

He said, "I thought you weren't going to my bachelors party. "

I looked throughout. All I could view were our male pals. There are no girls in the vicinity.

Calm down, prospective brother-in-law Zyron remarked, clearly intoxicated. When some of the men wanted to bring ladies, I opposed them. I would prefer your sister not be mad at me.

Tristan questioned, swirling his drink and laughing, "If there aren't any girls, how are we meant to have fun at this party? "

Tss. Zyron responded, not likening me to you.

Would you want me to clarify what you mean? And what if men show up to your brides bridal shower? Tristan fired.

Hey, a voice cut off. Not like that my sisters are.

Xavier was carrying two bottles toward us in hand. He stopped before Tristan and stared.

He advised, then passed me one of the bottles, stop spewing useless drivel before Zyron strikes you.

Xavier said jokingly, "I thought you weren't coming since you were busy stargazing or something.

Not to be concerned, kuya, I said smiling. There is always next time. I poked Zyron playfully and he laughed. Last night of freedom, I couldn't miss this Zyrons.

Everybody, let's enjoy this party! Xavier shouted and held up his bottle.

He stretched over suddenly and caressed a microphone nearby. Hi, do you find something here?

I shook my head. My brother is obviously also drunk.

I just want to tell my future brother-in-law something; he started. To be quite honest, I never intended you to marry my identical twin sister. You have hurt her too many times before. She sobbed over you. Even still, she chose you over everything else. I thus had no other option but to concur with her. But pay close attention: if you offend her again, I swear I will be the one digging your grave.

I peeked at Zyron not far away. He was radiant. He knew Xavier simply said those things out of love for our sister.

Apart from me, anybody else want to get something across? Xavier asked, facing me.

I said there is no need. Zyron is aware.

Zyron peered into my eyes and gave a very slight nod.

The celebration lasted later.

Where are you going, Zac? Tristan yelled out behind me.

Timothy, his brother, teased he might be looking for a place to vomit.

I decided not to reply. I just kept walking, the bottle still in my hand. Not until I found myself alone at the far end of the beach did I see how far I had drifted.

I sat on the sand looking up towards the moon. She was lovely tonight. Not aggressive. Tranquil. Her silvery brilliance soared over the ocean, the only light piercing the darkness.

People were walking to the left. They halted not quite behind me. I could tell someone was standing close by.

I never looked back. I just squeezed the bottle harder.

Quietly I commented, rising straight up without circling, I had no idea anyone followed me all the way here.

Unknown.

Finally I faced the person behind me. Still, I found it difficult to recognize them; a black hoodie covered their whole face.

Still, I watched, hoping I could recognize anything in their body language. All the things.

I wondered, could you tell me who you are and why you followed me?

Quiet.

They couldn't hear me? Alternatively they could lack speech ability.

I shook my head and turned toward departure.

Then without warning they yanked me close by grasping my right arm.

Taken aback, I shot forward. Their face was covered by the gloom. The moonlight wasn't quite there. The sweatshirt covered everything.

Who might it be?

I lacked the chance to finish.

They kissed me.

Frozen I grew.

My mind shouted to drive them away, to act, anything.

But my body will not move.

Maybe it was the booze.

Perhaps it was the shock.

Perhaps it was something else.

Their lips moved purposely, gently warm and tender, somewhat familiar brushing against mine. One emotion I had not expected. My chest constricted, my face burned, and my ideas scattered.

Then everything slowed down.

To me, the sand under my feet no longer looked real.

The waves, the breeze, the music—everything vanished.

The warmth of the kiss even started to disappear.

Only the moon lingered, shining gently over us.

Then came complete darkness.

zac

From somewhere far off a voice echoed.

Zack

Zac.

Zac, stand up!

Gasping, I leapt from bed.

Arms crossed and staring at me like shed been calling me for minutes, Mom stood at the foot of my bed.

Frustrated, she said, "Zac, do you know what time it is? You are going to be late for school. Get up and have breakfast downstairs. "

She turned and left the room.

I sat there dazed. My heart was still beating rapid.

My fingers found their way to my lips.

Was it valid?

Did I really kissed a person I had never met?

I nodded in an effort to regulate my respiration.

Zac, try not to think too much. Just a kiss it was.

That person will never cross your path.

Maybe

It was just a dream.
