Chapter 15: Earth-2 Escapes & Evil Clones
Earth-2. The land of doppelgangers, villainous counterparts, and, apparently, more opportunities for Adam to unleash his particular brand of chaotic heroism. "Seriously, the multiverse is just one giant playground for me, isn't it?" Adam mused, having hitched a ride with Barry and Cisco through the breach.
[SYSTEM: Dimensional Jump Complete. Destination: Earth-2. Objective: Observe The Flash S02E14: "Escape from Earth-2". Suggestion: Utilize newly acquired ability: Shapeshifting for comedic villain impersonations.]
"Shapeshifting! Oh, System, you've outdone yourself! This is going to be glorious!" Adam thought, practically vibrating with excitement. He knew the drill: Barry and Cisco were here to rescue Jesse Quick and Harry Wells from Zoom. And Zoom was not a villain to be trifled with. But that didn't mean Adam couldn't add a little… flair to the proceedings.
[SYSTEM: Achievement Unlocked: Aggravate 10 Heroes. Reward: New Ability - Shapeshifting ("Polymorph").]
[SYSTEM: New Ability Acquired: Shapeshifting ("Polymorph"). Energy Cost: Moderate. Limitation: Limited Duration.]
Adam found himself in the midst of the chaos, as Barry and Cisco tried to navigate Zoom's dark, perpetually rainy Central City. He saw Killer Frost, looking suitably menacing, and Reverb, Cisco's evil doppelganger, who looked like he'd just stepped out of a bad rock band.
"Okay, Adam, time for some comedic villainy," he thought. He focused, picturing himself as a ridiculous, overtly evil clone of Barry Allen. Something with a tiny, villainous mustache and a cape that was too long.
Shimmer. Adam transformed, appearing as a miniature, evil Barry, complete with a tiny, cackling laugh. He ran past a bewildered Zoom minion, tripped him with an illusory banana peel, and then vanished.
The minion stared at the empty space, then at the banana peel. "What in the…?"
"See? Instant confusion. My specialty," Adam thought, reverting to his normal form.
He then saw Killer Frost confronting Barry and Cisco. "Time to subtly nudge her towards the light. Or at least, towards not freezing my friends." He focused on Killer Frost's mind, subtly implanting a thought.
"You know, Killer Frost," Adam thought, projecting the idea, "Barry's actually kind of cute when he's distressed. And doesn't he look like he could use a friend? A frosty friend?"
Killer Frost, mid-ice blast, paused. A flicker of confusion crossed her face. "Cute? What was that? My powers are… distracting me." She shook her head, then, instead of blasting Barry, she aimed her ice at a nearby wall, creating a giant, perfectly sculpted ice swan.
Cisco and Barry stared at the ice swan. "Did… did she just make an ice swan?" Cisco whispered.
"I think so," Barry replied, bewildered.
"Subtle influence, success!" Adam thought, pleased.
He then saw Reverb, looking menacing and powerful. "Okay, Adam, this guy looks like he needs a good prank. Something that will really mess with his ego." He shapeshifted into a giant, glowing, sentient rubber chicken, and let out a loud, mocking "BOCK-BOCK-BOCK!" as he waddled towards Reverb.
Reverb, however, was not amused. He immediately unleashed a powerful sonic blast. Adam, caught off guard by the sheer force, barely had time to teleport away, the blast narrowly missing him.
[SYSTEM: Prank Status: Reverb - Warning. High Hostility Detected. Recommend: Cease Prank Interaction.]
Adam materialized in a safe distance, shaking his head. "Okay, System, message received. Reverb does not appreciate the poultry-themed humor. Noted. Some villains just don't have a sense of fun."
He spent the rest of the episode subtly causing chaos for Zoom's minions, shapeshifting into various ridiculous forms – a tiny, tap-dancing gorilla, a sentient, sarcastic lamppost – always just out of reach, always causing confusion.
As Team Flash finally made their escape from Earth-2, leaving a bewildered Zoom and his equally bewildered minions behind, Adam felt a surge of satisfaction. "Earth-2, successfully pranked. And I got a new power out of it. This is the best job ever." He teleported back to Earth-1, already planning his next grand entrance.
