Zombieman nodded.
"How about the newly formed Hero Association? They fight monsters and protect people. Want to try out?"
Kaito Ren suggested. Zombieman had been an S-class hero. Surely, he wouldn't refuse.
"Fight monsters?!"
Zombieman frowned, considering the Hero Association.
"I'm too weak to fight monsters. I'm not worthy of the title of hero."

Kaito Ren was flabbergasted. Zombieman was an S-class rank 8 hero! He should have been thrilled at the mention of the Hero Association! He'd been rejected!
This guy was unbelievable! He was determined to stick to Kaito Ren like glue!
Kaito Ren felt utterly exasperated.

Just as Kaito Ren was about to lose it, Zombieman spoke again.
"Really? That's great! Whatever you do, follow your heart! I support you!"
Kaito Ren was overjoyed. He was finally free of this stalker!
But then… he saw Zombieman heading towards the Reserve Hero School. A bad feeling washed over him.

"That's right. I'll hone my skills here. When I'm worthy of the title of hero, I'll join the Hero Association!"
Zombieman resolutely entered the school.
He was stuck with this guy.

He saw a familiar figure—bright blond hair, a youthful face, the ever-present size 42 shoes and tight jeans. Genos!
But he looked younger, more energetic, and…
His parts looked cobbled together.
Kaito Ren was confused. Genos's home had been destroyed by a rampaging robot, and he'd been rescued by Dr. Kuseno, who'd turned him into a cyborg.
Kaito Ren realized the key. Dr. Kuseno was still poor, lacking the advanced materials for advanced modifications. He'd barely managed to create Genos's body.
That explained why Genos had spent three years training before meeting Saitama. He'd been collecting parts from monsters to upgrade himself.
