Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: For the Greater Good!

The magic system of this world is idealistic.

Every spell cast embodies the wizard's emotions and intentions at the time.

Ultimately, the essence of magic in this world is a kind of "wishing it all" (or "making it happen").

Therefore, truly powerful wizards often don't even need to use spells to cast spells.

Of course, when they recite a spell, their emotions and intentions reach their highest level, amplifying the magic's power.

Take, for example, Tom, who would use the Killing Curse as a basic attack in the future...

However, for Tom at that time, reciting the Killing Curse aloud not only enhanced the spell's power but also served as a deterrent to others.

Meanwhile, Livid lay on the recliner, once again entering his previous meditative state.

But this time, he didn't deliberately try to gather his scattered thoughts.

Instead, he silently felt the "energy" within him, known as magic.

"I need inner peace, a clear mind," Livid thought.

Then, he felt the magic within him seem to move, yet also seem to remain still.

Just as Levid was about to try again, he suddenly felt a sense of inner peace.

All distracting thoughts vanished in an instant!

The feeling was strange, like being in a bustling city when all sounds suddenly vanished.

Everything was silent, leaving only the sound of his own breathing and heartbeat.

Levid marveled at the change, but then a sense of confusion struck him.

He was still thinking, so why was his mind free of distractions? Wasn't that a contradiction?

It was like someone testing your breath and finding it was completely silent, yet you could clearly feel yourself breathing!

Why couldn't others detect your breathing?

It didn't take long for Levid to understand the reason.

It turned out that his distracting thoughts hadn't vanished, nor had his thoughts ceased.

  They had simply been hidden!

  Why was this so?

Because magic could fulfill the wizard's wishes.

So, in order to fulfill Levid's wish of a clear mind, Levid's magic had to conceal the distracting thoughts that Levid couldn't eliminate.

Then, he helped Levid create a brain devoid of memories and any traces of thought, replacing the original brain.

In other words, the memories and thoughts displayed in this fake brain were the ones Levid desired others to see—all fake.

The real brain, however, remained locked behind a door.

Only at this moment did Levid truly understand the principles of Occlumency and successfully reach the first stage: concealing

all one's memories and true thoughts.

Without further delay, Levid began experimenting with the second stage.

He began expanding the size of his new "brain," allowing the fake thoughts and memories to tightly encase his real ones.

Next, Levid began attempting to connect the fake and real "brains."

He then covertly transmitted the fake thoughts and memories from his real brain into the fake brain...

In that instant, the stale fake thoughts and memories in the fake brain suddenly came alive!

Indistinguishable from his real memories and thoughts!

In other words, Levid could now alter his own memories and thoughts at will.

Others could only see what Levid intended them to see.

It was an unknown amount of time, but when Levander opened his eyes, the sky was completely dark.

He carefully assessed his state, feeling immense satisfaction. Without a doubt, he had truly mastered Occlumency.

The feeling... it was hard to describe.

It was like wearing a pair of sunglasses.

Others who tried to see his eyes could only see the pitch-black lenses, while his eyes could see through them normally.

Although his Occlumency was only just beginning, it was more than enough to handle Queenie's passive Legilimency.

Levander couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief at this thought.

"You're awake? You slept for a long time," Tom eyed Levander suspiciously.

He almost thought Levander had fallen into a deep sleep.

"Oh, I stayed up late reading last night, so I'm tired today."

"But didn't you go to bed early last night?"

"I couldn't sleep, so I read," Levander said casually.

Meanwhile, Toby had brought over the dinner he had reserved for Levander.

"Wade, you'll get used to it slowly. I was the same before.

Whenever I went to a new place, I couldn't sleep because I wasn't used to it.

" Professor Hicks said with a smile.

She still believed that Levander's sleeplessness was simply because he wasn't used to it.

"Yes, I'll try to get used to it," Levander nodded seriously.

Levander suddenly realized that his acting skills seemed to have improved since mastering Occlumency.

The false expressions, paired with the right amount of false emotions, were a perfect match...

Occlumency could bring such a boost to his acting skills.

No wonder the future Professor Snape was able to spy under Tom's nose, remaining unexposed until the day he died.

Levander, having eaten little all day, was truly hungry.

After wolfing down his dinner, he told Professor Hicks again that he was tired and needed to rest.

Tom looked at Levander as if he were a pig.

Who sleeps that much every day?

This guy had suddenly become so lazy. Wasn't he afraid that he would surpass him and face his own revenge?

What Tom didn't know was that Levander's words about being sleepy last night were fake, but now they were real.

He had put so much energy into learning Occlumency and truly needed a good rest.

Closing the door again, Li Wei De sat on his bed and opened the system store.

He hadn't had time to check it out last night. If he didn't check it out now, he'd be in trouble if something good came in and it was gone by midnight.

[Item 1: 10ml of Felixir (Unlocked) - 500 Merit Points]

[Item 2: One Unicorn Hair (Unlocked) - 5 Merit Points]

[Refresh Timer: 5 hours, 21 minutes, 55 seconds]

  [Merit Points: 100]

  [Dark Lord Achievement: Not Achieved]

Li Wei De immediately spotted the bottle of Felixir.

  This was a good thing!

It would increase one's luck after taking it! Furthermore, it was quite difficult to brew.

Even for a Potions Master, it took at least six months from the beginning to the finished product to guarantee a successful result!

Li Wei De really wanted to buy the Felixir, whether for personal use or to sell.

However, he didn't have enough Merit Points, so he had to lock it up for now.

As for the other item, the unicorn hair, Li Weide didn't waste his merit points.

After closing the system store page, Li Weide gradually felt a deep drowsiness.

The side effects of the energy potion, coupled with his own excessive energy consumption, made Li Weide unable to bear it, and soon he fell into a deep sleep.

It was a restless sleep.

In his drowsy state, Li Weide seemed to have arrived in a strange place.

The place was white, as if shrouded in fog.

And within the fog, an indistinct black figure waved at him, its lips moving as if speaking something rapidly.

Unable to make out the shadow's words, Li Weide became anxious and stumbled forward, his legs feeling strangely heavy.

Suddenly, Li Weide tripped over something, and everything around him began to collapse and disappear, taking the shadow with it...

Li Weide opened his mouth to ask who it was, but was surprised to find that he couldn't speak!

At this moment, he suddenly heard someone calling him from behind.

Just as he turned his head to see who was calling him, everything in front of him suddenly disappeared.

Toby's terrified expression suddenly appeared in front of him...

"...Master Wade! Wake up! Master Wade has to go! Toby has to take Master Wade and Master Tom away! Someone... someone is attacking us!"

Li Weide suddenly woke up, and at the same time, noisy sounds outside the house came in!

There were crackling sounds of spells being cast, as well as various shouts and slogans...

Among them, there was a sentence that Li Weide felt was particularly familiar - "For the greater good!"
