Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The Secret of the Attic

In reality, Dumbledore's relationship with his brother wasn't as bad as he'd let him.

At the very least, Aberforth didn't refuse to let the homeless Levander and Tom stay.

Levander saw Aberforth as a man with a sharp tongue but a soft heart.

While he might not have spared his brother, he would still do his best to complete his brother's orders...

Levander and Tom ultimately stayed.

Aberforth arranged a room for them on the second floor.

Toby, deeply grateful to Aberforth for taking Levander in,

volunteered to help Aberforth run the bar.

He believed that if he put in enough effort, his now temporarily dependent host would have a better life.

Aberforth didn't object, believing that having a house-elf to help would make things easier for him.

Consequently, his attitude toward Levander and the others softened.

Except for the attic, you're free to go anywhere else.

If you need a drink, you can go to the cellar and get it.

Hogsmeade has plenty of other shops, so if you need anything, you can go out and browse."

Aberforth said, then turned and left the room with Toby, who had volunteered to work.

After Aberforth left, Levander lay down on his bed.

He hadn't rested much since last night and was feeling a little tired.

Meanwhile, Tom sat on the other bed, pulled out a spellbook and began to study intently.

For him, only constant study could help him become stronger and escape the clutches of that perverted Levander!

"Tom, what do you think is in the attic? Why won't Mr. Aberforth let us in?"

"This is someone's home.

They have their own privacy. What's so strange about that?"

"Well... well, it's boring, Tom.

How about we go out and have a look?"

  "No! Go by yourself,"

Tom immediately refused.

He was still studying magic last night when the Wiccans interrupted him.

Now he had to make up for the lost progress!

Li Weide pulled the quilt over himself and covered himself tightly.

"Even when studying, you need to relax in moderation...

At the very least, you need to get a good rest, otherwise you will get half the result with twice the effort.

Let's take a nap." "I don't mind getting half the result with twice the effort.

As long as there is progress, it's fine.

If you want to sleep, just sleep by yourself and don't disturb me.

" Tom said coldly.

What's wrong with being a little tired? I'm happy to!

After a while, Li Weide sat up from the bed.

"I'm sleeping, but you're studying...

Tom, how can you do something that affects unity? You make me feel guilty!"

"Don't worry about it. I can't sleep.

What's wrong with studying? Besides, your snoring disturbs me!"

Li Weide narrowed his eyes slightly, "You said... you can't sleep?

That won't do..."

"What... what are you going to do?" Tom immediately felt something was wrong and looked at Li Weide warily.

"Nothing, I just want to help you.

Insomnia is not good... fainting!"

"Wade! You are such a dog..."

Tom fell asleep before he finished scolding, and slept very soundly...

  "Ahem, don't thank me, Tom."

Li Weide clapped his hands, and the quilt on Tom's bed automatically covered him.

Sharing a room with Tom, if Tom doesn't fall asleep, how can Li Weide fall asleep?

After checking Tom's sleep quality, Li Weide lay down with satisfaction and pulled his quilt over him again.

He was exhausted this night.

Unlike Tom, Tom slept as long as he fought with the witch party last night, so he was still so energetic now!

Li Weide slowly closed his eyes and was about to fall asleep drowsily.

Suddenly, a dull sound came from upstairs.

  "Knock!"

Li Weide didn't care and continued to rest with his eyes closed.

Just when he was about to fall asleep again.

"Knock!"

  The dull sound reappeared.

After this sound recurred so many times, Levid finally couldn't fall asleep.

Although the sound wasn't loud, strangely, it always woke Levid up.

Levid stared at the ceiling in confusion.

This time, he didn't sleep, but quietly waited for the sound to appear again.

Levid didn't have to wait long.

About a minute later, the sound reappeared.

It was like a wooden stick hitting a thick carpet.

  "Knock!"

Levid sat up in bed. He finally understood something.

This sound contained a faint magical power.

Moreover, this magic seemed to have the ability to attract the magic power of other wizards. That's why he was constantly awakened by this sound!

Levid had seen many magical props in Diagon Alley.

But he had never heard any magical sound other than the sound of wizards chanting spells.

If this sound could be magical, then could the object that made the sound, simply by making this knocking sound, be able to cast magic?

That's a good idea. If they could figure out the principle, could they create a device that could automatically cast magic without the need for a wizard to chant?

Just then, the voice rang out again.

This time, Levvid heard it more clearly, and he keenly sensed that the magic contained in it was much stronger than before!

Levvid glanced at the ceiling again. Upstairs... wasn't that the attic Aberforth had forbidden them to go to?

  What was up there?

  Levvid's curiosity was piqued...

Logically, since Aberforth had forbidden them to go to the attic, he shouldn't have gone there, or even asked about it.

However, this sound was so unique, it seemed to have the power to wake a wizard from his sleep.

Tom didn't wake up because he was under a Stunning Spell...

If he were sleeping normally, he would inevitably be awakened by this sound.

So... Levvid decided to ask Aberforth directly.

He was troubled by the sound, so asking about it made perfect sense.

What if Aberforth was willing to tell him?

Even if he didn't tell me, it was better than sneaking up without a word and spying on someone else's secrets.

Levid listened for a while longer, noticing the voice's growing power.

He stood up, put on his coat, and opened the door.

The Hog's Head was similar to the Leaky Cauldron in that it also had guest rooms.

It was just a bit smaller, with only three floors, and a few fewer rooms, all concentrated on the second floor.

Levid and Tom were occupying one; the others were empty today.

So, when Levid walked out of his room, he was greeted by a narrow hallway.

On one side was a wall, and on the other was the entrance to the guest rooms.

At either end of the hallway were the stairs leading downstairs and up to the attic.

Levid closed the door, glanced at the stairs leading up, and then turned to head for the stairs leading downstairs.

Just as he turned, he felt a chilling presence behind him.

Could it be a ghost? Levid wondered, turning again.

  "Wow..."

Li Weide couldn't help but widen his eyes when he saw what was on the other side clearly.

A strange black mist was constantly flowing down the stairs leading up the stairs opposite him like water...and the mist was gradually gathering together, slowly filling the entire closed corridor!
