Chapter One
The Tolen Family
Mr. Tolen lived in a city called Zinatano. He was an average income earner, but he owned his own house. Behind the house was a beautiful garden where he and his wife grew vegetables and fruits
to supplement their income. They had a fairly large family of six, including himself, his wife, and four children.
Recently, Mr. Tolen had lost his job, causing him to spend most of his time indoors. The only times he ventured out were to pay bills or attend community meetings, which he chaired. Occasionally, he would stop at a local beer parlour for a drink and catch up with old friends.
One day, a former colleague named Pantane, who was a technical supervisor at the gas factory where Mr. Tolen used to work, invited him to a tavern. Pantane informed Mr. Tolen about a chief security job opening at a nearby company.
After discussing the job opportunity with Pantane, Mr. Tolen decided to consider applying. Meanwhile, he overheard a group of boys talking about a mysterious place called The Land of Gold, where people went missing while searching for treasure. The story intrigued Mr. Tolen, and he listened intently.
The Land of Gold was known for its treacherous statues and deadly creatures that guarded the territory. Despite the dangers, the allure of riches drew many adventurers to the land, only for them to meet a tragic fate.
As Mr. Tolen left the tavern deep in thought, he realized he had forgotten to pay the family utility bills. He decided to return home and take care of it the next day. Upon arriving home, he was greeted warmly by his family, and they all sat down for dinner and a discussion about the job opportunity.
The next morning, after their usual routine, Mr. Tolen gathered his family for a discussion about the job prospect. This was a rare occurrence in the Tolen household, but they all listened attentively as Mr. Tolen shared his plans for the future
