Axel walks back and sinks into the nearby couch, stretching out with a deliberate kind of laziness as he crosses one leg over the other, settling in like someone who wasn't going to be rushed or flustered anymore.
Fenris turns to him with that same quiet demand in his posture, narrowed gaze pinning him like a nail through silk.
"Are you gonna talk or not?" he asks, voice clipped as ever.
Axel lifts his brows, resting his elbow on the armrest and cupping his chin in one palm. "Okay. But what do you want in return?" he asks with casual coolness, keeping his expression unreadable. "You can't be doing this out of concern."
"You're right," Fenris replies, a dry scoff beneath his words, "concern sounds so foreign to me. But still, I don't need anything from you for this. And just as you said, don't confuse it with concern."
Axel lets out a sudden laugh, shaking his head slightly as he looks away.
