ADELINE
Drystan speaks up at this moment, "This letter was found in the woods yesterday and the handwriting matches with yours. What else are you going to say in your defense…?"
The scroll drops from my hand, "How can I defend myself if you won't believe me?" I look up at him, "For the past three days, I have been serving Julia on your orders. I did not go into the woods or anywhere close…"
"You still don't want to confess your crimes? Fine… Fine!" Drystan narrows his eyes as he grabs the scroll, "Come with me!"
Even as he turns to leave, I don't follow him. I stand rooted to my spot.
Drystan halts in his tracks. He looks at me from above his shoulder, his gaze unflinching and ruthless. "Or you want to be dragged out of here?"
My fingers curl into fists. Even for a moment, I don't doubt his words.
He will probably get me dragged out of here if I don't listen to him.
Drystan leads me all the way to the pack hall.
