Chapter 14 - Consequent Trading

Max started thinking about who might be targeting him but didn't dwell on it, as ever since he was reborn, he had constantly been targeted in business matters. He had grown used to it and didn't particularly care about them.

If he truly cared about everyone, he would have kept track of how many people he offended during his rise, and it might have even landed him an official Guinness World Record.

He then waited for others to send trade requests while editing the previous transaction. He blurred a few important details, including the item he received and the other party's name, before sending the edited photo to the chat channel as proof of a successful transaction.

Then he began to quietly wait on the raft and noticed a wooden treasure chest surfing the waves of the ocean. As it neared his raft, he sprang into action and deftly pulled the box onto the raft.

Max then happily opened the treasure chest and found few wooden planks and 50 copper coins in it.

He transferred the supplies into the inventory and took out the blueprint he got to check it requirements.

Blueprint: Hand-drawn low to medium range crossbow can be fixed on a boat.

Effective Range: 50meters

Rotation: 180 degrees

Requirement: upgrade raft to small boat and workbench.

Material required: Wood*100, rubber*10/sea beast parts*10, iron*5.

Max realized he can't craft the boat-loaded crossbow yet because it requires upgrading his raft to a small boat. However, he believes he can achieve this if the water purifier sales meet his expectations.

As he was waiting for further transactions and began to wait, his wait didn't last long, and a series of requests appeared in his interface regarding the production of the water purifier production.

Max patiently presented the previous transaction record, encouraging them to take the next step by sending the necessary materials for production. He gradually manufactured the water purifiers and returned them after exchanging them for blueprints, wood, or weapons that he needed to cover the production costs.

The entire morning, he managed to produce 10 water purifiers, a mere drop in the ocean compared to the massive population. Along the way, he gathered 300 wood logs and five blueprints of varying quantities. However, these were nothing remarkable, mainly featuring wooden barrels, cups, racks, rough shirt production, and innerwear production designs.

Max also exchanged for two weapons which were black iron sharp sword and black iron spear as his previous spear was bent during the previous operation to hunt the shark.

As midafternoon arrived, activity dwindled as many paused their rafting to rest and have lunch, regaining their energy. During this time, sharks became vulnerable due to the intense heat, which made them lethargic.

Effectively enabling to hunt them with little efforts and avoid unnecessary wounds during the fights.

Max sat on the raft under the parasol, preparing his meal while using blueprints to craft items and place them on the trade market shelves to earn extra resources. Soon, a few transactions completed which increased his resources, and as his meal finished cooking, he paused trading and began eating with a happy expression on his face.

After eating, Max watered the bread tree plant that germinated this morning and added some fertilizer to provide it with the nutrients needed for healthy growth, as its survival is crucial until he resolves the food issue.

As max was busy cleaning the dishes he received flurry of messages and many directly requested to trade the resources as result of him showing the transaction he made in the entire morning has gained enough trust from other in the regional channel.

Max gradually agreed to the deal, acquiring the necessary resources to produce water purifiers. He started exchanging the completed products for 100 wooden logs, as many preferred not to share blueprints.

By evening, Max continued reaching out to others and managed to produce up to 25 additional products, resulting in a transaction that earned him 2500 wooden logs. This brought his total inventory of wooden logs to 3000.

As he was prepared to stop for today as the transactions stopped coming from an hour and Max decided to stop for today and rest for the day.

As he was about to rest, he noticed a black iron box floating in the ocean among the seaweed, which spurred him into action to retrieve the treasure. He opened it without hesitation, discovering 100 more copper coins, bringing his total to 1,150 coins. Along with the coins, the box also contained a blueprint and a fishing net.

Max examined the blueprint and discovered it was for a wooden crossbow bolt, which requires wood and iron to craft. Additionally, the conditions to create it also align with the requirements to upgrade from a raft to a small ship, provided a workbench is available.

Max gathered enough wood to upgrade his raft and quickly pressed the upgrade button, raising his raft to level 9. The final upgrade required him to spend 1000 wood to reach level 10. Without hesitation, Max pressed the upgrade button again, as he had the necessary materials, and his raft was instantly upgraded to level 10.

As soon as the raft was upgraded to level 10, the system prompted him to decide whether to upgrade his raft into a ship, as he had the required blueprint. The process would take at least 12 hours, during which the raft would remain stationary and unable to move.

Any attacks during this time would be nullified, but the survivor's newbie protection, which prevented active attacks from ocean beasts, would also come to an end.

Max paused for a moment, opened his regional chat, and informed everyone that today's transactions were done for now as he wanted to rest for the day. He also mentioned they could come later for the water purifier.

Amidst the wails of others, he clicked the upgrade button on the interface, prompting the system to initiate the process of transforming his raft into a small ship.

Max was excited to see how the ship would look and went back to his work, as the transformation would take about 12 hours, finishing by the next morning.

That night, Max ate his fill, took care of his needs, and slept soundly amid the sounds of hammers and other noises coming from the raft's transformation.

As soon as Max fell asleep, he was gently lifted above the raft, and the transformation of the raft quickened, continuing through the night.

By morning, as the sun began to rise, Max was lowered onto the ship's bed, now situated in the cabin created by the ship's transformation.
