Chapter 17 - Reaching 1st stage of extraordinary

Max quickly received a notification confirming the purchase, and within minutes, the alerts stopped. His inventory was now stocked with 100,000 units of wood, as everyone in the channel had bought the intelligence.

Since many inherently don't trust others, they worried about scenarios where someone might agree to split the cost, only to withhold the information or share false details after the purchase.

The system couldn't guarantee fairness unless the intelligence was sold through the system market. So, everyone in the region which equals to 10,000 members has bought the item in his shop.

After reviewing his resources, Max operated the ship's main panel and directed it to move forward, resuming the ocean exploration.

As the ship advanced, the sails unfurled and caught the wind. Max took the wheel on the main deck and steered toward the direction where he believed treasure chests awaited.

Max guided the ship at full throttle, enjoying the fresh morning breeze and with a lighthearted mood. Out of nowhere, the ship struck an obstacle, jerking to a sudden halt and started moving again which almost throwing him off balance as he stood unsteadily.

Max then slowly came towards the back of the ship and saw a meter long octopus following his ship which weights almost 150kg is chasing the ship, Max felt excited upon seeing the water monster, as sighting a monster means there is a treasure chest.

And Max hasn't tested the ship artillery until now as he hasn't found a suitable target fire the artillery, now that he has found the live target max immediately max immediately moved forward to the deck and switched on the control center to actively track the target and aim at the monster.

Max decided to keep the ship at a steady distance of 30 meters, even though the crossbow's range was 50 meters. He used his magic power to speed up the ship, and once he reached 50 meters away from the monster, he stopped supplying magic power and carefully steered the ship. As the ship slowed down, the monster began to catch up again.

Once the monster entered within 30 meters, Max commanded the crossbow to fire. The crossbow at the back of the ship immediately unleashed three consecutive arrows, all hitting the octopus with perfect accuracy.

The monster roared with anger, pain and raged even more and accelerated towards the ship which made max sweet a little.

Max once again marked the target and commanded the fire button, shooting all the remaining seven arrows. The monster anticipated and dodged the first two, but the remaining five arrows struck precisely into its head, killing it perfectly.

As the monster died, its blue blood began to dye the surrounding waters. Max steered the ship toward the sinking creature, collecting it into the inventory. He obtained tier 1 octopuses' leather, 100 kilograms of octopus meat, and 10 liters of octopus black ink, which could be sold to island lords or used to craft specific items. Max left the black ink in the inventory since the system warned it was flammable upon contact with fire. Instead, he took out the octopus's meat to inspect it and found it looked excellent, perfect for a barbecue in the afternoon.

Even after slaying the monster, Max couldn't find the treasure chest. He started roaming around the ship, checking every side to see if the treasure had surfaced anywhere.

Max checked the back and sides of the ship but found no treasure chest. Then he remembered hitting the monster and thought that the chest might have gotten stuck to the front of the ship. Sure enough, he soon spotted the treasure chest firmly stuck there. Leaning over the railing, he grabbed it and added the chest to his inventory.

Max once again adjusted the ship's direction while checking for damage after hitting the octopus. He discovered the ship had only lost 10 durability, which was nearly negligible compared to its massive 10,000 durability.

He then started to collect wood, ocean weed required to make fertilizer and soon found 2 more wooden treasure chest and a black iron treasure chest until the afternoon 2 o clock.

As he felt hungry due being not eaten his full since the morning, he stopped the ship and prepared to make the food for his lunch this afternoon.

Max decided to cook the octopus to savor the taste of freshly caught octopus' meat while boosting his stat points in body strength, defense, and agility, aiming to reach a truly extraordinary level.

As soon as he thought of the food, he began to salivate. He headed into the ship cabin, made his way to the kitchen stocked with all the necessary items, lit the stove, and diced the octopus meat. He started roasting it, adding oil and spices that filled the cabin with a mouthwatering fragrance.

As soon as the food was cooked, Max immediately started eating and consumed at least one kilogram of meat, as eating any less wouldn't provide any benefit and eating more would cause digestion problems.

As soon as he completed eating, max felt like he was in sauna and started to sweat, he felt his body was on fire for more than a minute.

Soon he felt the pain go away and a warm current started to pass through his body lessening the pain and suffering making him fell like he was being healed.

Max slowly sat up and found himself covered in sweat and black dirt. He walked into the bathroom, rinsed himself with clear water, washed his clothes, and put on coarse clothes made from the blueprint he had obtained during the trade for a water purifier.

When he remembered the water purifier, he realized he had forgotten about it due to being busy. He took it out of the inventory, and the system prompted him, asking if he wanted to install it on the ship. It explained that he could redirect water directly into the purifier to make it suitable for drinking.

Max happily agreed and discovered that the purifier was fixed next to the kitchen. A pipe is now connected to it, allowing ocean water to flow in for purification. He can collect the purified water at the bottom and drink it.

He drank a glass of freshly purified water, opened his personal status page, and noticed that his strength, defense, and agility had each increased by 5 points. This brought all three to a uniform 20 points, signaling he had reached an extraordinary stage in both body and mind, though his spirit had only increased by 1 point.

Upon noticing his spirit had increased by just one point, Max instantly realized that from now on, he could only boost his stats by one point for every monster meat he consumed, unless he consumes different tier monster meat.

He has no hope of achieving it right now, as killing a tier 1 monster is easier since he has the right weapons. However, even a tier 1 monster was able to dodge an arrow, and he can only imagine what a tier 2 or higher monster could do.

Right now, his stats look like this
