Synopsis
Kim Joonah is the epitome of a Korean variety and k-pop star. During filming he's Goodwin, a loud, sly and cocky TV persona. But Joonah has a secret. He is actually a werewolf, trying to unravel his destiny while co-existing with humans as well as his demanding pack. He is about to meet Senghi Jung, k-drama screenplay author and officially not a quitter. When she suddenly finds herself unemployed, her best option is a temporary job as a celebrity manager. But taking on the wellbeing of Joonah/Goodwin turns out to be a bigger challenge than she ever anticipated. As an Omega wolf, Joonah is expected to find a mate and reproduce while helping to make the pack successful and wealthy. The unexpected love between him and Senghi - a human - is hotter than the Korean summer sun, but the idea of them as a couple is rejected by both the Korean public and his pack, threatening him to return to his former miserable life as an outcast. "Bonded Heat" is a semi-erotic werewolf romance novel, charged with sensual energy and strong characters. "YOU DON'T BELONG IN THE SHADOWS."

Chapter 1 - Broken identities

Most people thought he'd never excel into anything special. Even following the plastic surgery and all of the exhausting auditions, the military service and the comeback, he was always the underdog.

Brought up by the two abusive women who happened to be his mother and grandmother, and victimized by school bullying, he was doomed to a life of artistry. Because if you're always crying, find yourself a clown mask to hide behind.

The mask - Goodwin.

Goodwin was a loud troublemaker, an obnixious alter ego, the perfect confident star of renowned variety show Hazy Dayz. Utterly sly and shameless, Goodwin was everything that Kim Joonah wasn't.

Through Goodwin, he accessed the world of k-pop, fans, touring and money.

But then, there were the wolves.

His grandmother - the rogue huntress Kim Heeso, who was banished from the Haneul Pack in 1964, after tearing a fellow pack member into pieces.

His mother - Kim Sohee, father unknown, never considered a pack member anywhere because of her bad heritage and foul temper.

Joona's father was also unknown. But, undoubtedly, a wolf.

Senghi was more of the gritty type. She too was raised by a harsh-spoken matriarc, and saved herself by pushing her family away. That's how she ended up in Korea for the first time, leaving France to explore the birth country of her late father.

The steep hills of Seoul and the weird mix of ugly and beautiful buildings, the modern and the old parading hand in hand along Han river, enveloped her as she slowly found her Korean identity.

She wrote stories - eerie, intriguing stories of dark romance and twisted comedy - that were televised, then awarded. Senghi Jung became a name in k-drama.

It didn't surprise her. It was all part of the plan.

A streaming crisis and getting sacked by the TV network, was not.

Being desperate enough to apply for a job as a celebrity manager, wasn't either.

The series of events that followed, was how the two of them eventually ended up in the same office, on a March afternoon in 2023.

The star and the writer. The wolf and the human.
