The Justice Brigade was visiting an observatory when the shelf of space-related artifacts caught Jake's eye. Jake went down to look at them, but Daisy grabbed his shirt and threw him to the ground before he got too close. Daisy warned, "Don't even think about it. You can't touch those things. Not even the scientists who collected them know what's in those jars." Jake replied, "Fine." Daisy and Jake both left and went to see the giant telescope. Daisy sat in the seat, gazed through the large telescope, and looked out into the vastness of space. When she looked, she saw a meteor coming their way. "That's not good," Daisy said.
Jake asked, "What's not good?" Jake looked through the telescope and saw a meteor, too. When he saw it, he was shocked. He backed up toward the shelf of collected space items and hit it. Then, a jar wobbled off the shelf, fell on Jake's head, and broke. When the container got busted, the goo inside splattered all over Jake. Daisy and Hannah tried to clean him up, but the goo was too icky and sticky.
"Are you alright, Jake?" Hannah asked.
"I'm fine—just a bit untidy," Jake replied.
"That's good," Daisy said. "Let's head home now."

The Justice Brigade left the observatory, and Jake started to glow green when they did. Daisy, Hannah, and Frank all saw the green glow. They looked behind them and saw Jake glowing a greenish hue. "Jake?" Daisy inquired. Observing him, Hannah remarked, "He looks kind of strange." Frank agreed, adding, "He certainly does." Suddenly, Jake began to grow, and his skin turned a greenish shade. When his transformation was complete, he became a giant green space monster, and the Justice Brigade freaked out over him. Iceboy looked at the Justice Brigade and began attacking them. The Justice Brigade all flew away, and Iceboy headed downtown. Daisy said, "Ok, Iceboy's an alien freak because of the goo that landed on him, and there's a meteor heading toward Earth." Hannah replied, "We have to save Iceboy." Daisy responded, "But we also must save the Earth. So, here's what we're going to do."
Sungirl took Heatgirl back to their house and gave her special armor to match her superhero costume. Sungirl explained, "I had a special suit made for each of us in case we ever needed to venture into space. Now is that moment. Aquaboy and I will head downtown to confront Iceboy. You must travel into space and prevent the meteor from hitting Earth." Heatgirl asked, "But meteors are fiery—how can I help?" Sungirl replied, "You can absorb the flames and destroy it. Go now. Aquaboy, let's get moving and stop Iceboy."
Heatgirl went into space without a helmet, since she could survive there without one, while Sungirl and Aquaboy headed downtown. When they got downtown, they saw Iceboy terrorizing the city. Once they found him, Sungirl blasted him with her Sun Ray. Iceboy looked toward the blast and saw Sungirl and Aquaboy. Sungirl said, "Hey, Ugly, you looked better when you were on our side." Iceboy's eyes began to glow green, and he shot Sungirl with green beams. He tried to do the same thing to Aquaboy, but jumped out of the way and landed on his feet. Then Iceboy grabbed a stop sign, yanked it out of the ground, and threw it at Aquaboy. When it came to him, Aquaboy used his powers to blow it right back at him with a super-strong wind. When the stop sign hit him, Iceboy got slammed against a building. Iceboy saw Sungirl and Aquaboy flying up to him. Iceboy jumped over them, but they stopped, turned around, and flew in the opposite direction. When they got to Iceboy, Sungirl tried to kick him, but Iceboy grabbed her, threw her down, and Sungirl hit Aquaboy.
Meanwhile, Heatgirl was up in space looking for the meteor. When she found it, she made her hands glow red, pointed them at the meteor, and began to absorb its flames. Heatgirl absorbed as much power as possible. Then the stress got to her, and Heatgirl thought her powers were too much to handle. When she finished, the meteor looked like just a regular old asteroid. Heatgirl started to get hot inside her spacesuit because the absorbed power was melting her feet. Heatgirl started to panic, but she thought hard, and all the lava from her feet went back into her body, and she became whole again. Then Heatgirl flew to the meteor, stood on it, and started to feel weak. Heatgirl looked at her hand, and some lava emerged. Heatgirl got scared but thought hard, and the lava on her hand returned to her body.
While Heatgirl was in space, Sungirl grew worried about her on Earth, so she called her on the communication watch she had installed in her suit. Heatgirl sat down on the meteor, and her body started to melt. Then her watch beeped, and she answered it. Sungirl asked, "Heatgirl, are you ok?" Heatgirl replied, "A little weak in the knees. And I don't even have knees anymore." Heatgirl aimed her watch at her legs and showed Sungirl she was melting. Heatgirl screamed, saying, "This might be a bad time to tell you. But my powers are unstable. They sometimes come out of my body and try to destroy me. And I think they're going to succeed." Heatgirl's face started to melt, and when she got down on her hands, her hands turned into lava, and she started to melt completely. Heatgirl said, "Goodbye, Sungirl. Thank you for..." and Sungirl replied, "Oh no." Then Heatgirl melted entirely, and the meteor began to crack as her body melted. Sungirl called Heatgirl on her communicator again, stating, "Heatgirl, come in. Heatgirl."
When a small piece of the meteor landed on Earth, Sungirl saw a lava puddle and Heatgirl's communicator and mask next to it. Sungirl said, "No, Heatgirl, I failed you. I should never have let you go into space alone. I'm so sorry." Sungirl started crying, but then she had an idea. Sungirl reached into her pocket and brought out a purple formula she had created. Aquaboy asked, "What's that?" Sungirl replied, "It's a stabilizer I made. I haven't tested it, but this is urgent." Sungirl grabbed Heatgirl's mask and noticed a strand of hair left on it. Sungirl then removed the hair from the face cover, dropped it into the lava, and poured the Stabilizer. Once she did, all the lava came together, making Hannah whole again. Sungirl remarked, "Hey, it worked." Hannah then put her mask back on and shot her flame powers up into the sky. Then she stopped and looked at Sungirl. Heatgirl exclaimed, "I'm me again...." Heatgirl hugged Sungirl and added, "I knew you wouldn't let me down." Aquaboy then flew by the girls while being chased by Iceboy and called out, "A little help, please?" Heatgirl responded, "With pleasure."
Heatgirl flew up to Iceboy and tried to punch him, but he dodged it and smacked her away. Heatgirl then got up, kept firing her heat powers at Iceboy, and missed on purpose. Iceboy remarked, "Missed me." Heatgirl flew up to Iceboy and punched him hard. Then Iceboy shot green beans from his eyes and blasted Heatgirl away. Iceboy got hit by Sungirl's Sun Ray, and Heatgirl grabbed his shirt and threw him to the ground. Aquaboy then kicked Iceboy up, and Sungirl caught him. Then Heatgirl tied him up with a rope, and they flew him home.
Once they got home, they took off their superhero costumes, and Daisy took Jake to their lab, hoping to return him to normal. Daisy instructed, "If any emergencies arise, handle them without me. I'll run a few tests and try to find a cure for Jake's condition." Daisy strapped Jake onto a table, and when she read the data about his condition, she wrote it down to reverse the process and make an antidote for him. Then she fed it to him, and when he drank it, his skin returned to normal, and he regained his old powers.
After Jake returned to normal, Daisy showed Hannah and Frank that she had succeeded. Then, they all celebrated because Sungirl saved Heatgirl and Iceboy and returned them to normal. While celebrating, a giant monster began destroying the city, and they saw their signal in the sky. The Justice Brigade all looked at each other, put on their masks, and flew out of their house in superhero costumes to take the rampaging monster out.
