Chapter 1 - The girl

That voice called out to me again, a voice that belonged to a girl, but I was hesitated before I said anything. The problem is that I can't even remember how I got here. It is taking all my strength just to stand up from a plain field of grass. I feel weak and strangely light, but this isn't enough to keep me from standing up as I have and gazed upon the area I found myself in.

It is just a simple open garden up close, but it had many different roses, and it stretched quite far into the distance. I don't understand why it had such a huge open area like this.

There she is. It looks like she didn't noticed me standing here at the far end of the gate wall, near what seems to be a huge mansion. Its architecture resembles that of a fairytale palace. She yells my name again, yet I don't have a proper response... . I can't remember anything about myself, besides my name which came to me only when she called it.

As I stood there, I started to wonder how I did I manage to remember something from a book I once read. But I don't have time to daydream. I don't want her to keep shouting my name.

"Haru!" she shouts once more.

"I'm here!" My voice startled her, the voice that came from my throat only left me with some questions I still there in silence.

"Thank goodness, where have you been? Why would you disappear like that? You know the Madam doesn't like it when we're wandering around when his coming!"

It seems I'm part of this family that owns this huge place. But what kind of people should I be aware of at this place.

"Let's go before the Madam finds out we're gone." She grabs my hand and pulls me along, and just like that, we left the area.

Still, I can't stop wondering why I can't remember anything. My head feels hazy, the only thing I somewhat recognize is the structure of the building and this strange feeling of displacement in my heart.

As they left the area, a figure stood at the window, watching everything that happened from the second floor of the mansion.

Later that day before before the light turned to gold and only touched the roof of the mansion.

As I was washing the dishes—how ironic, I thought to myself, I realized what my position is at this mansion before long.

"That should be the last one. Let's go now," she says while wiping her hands with a peace of cloth.

I remained silent from when she found me but I need to clear something up between us.

It would be hard to keep talking to her without knowing her name, and I hope asking her might act as a trigger and bring back my memory of this place, like a jump start.

"Sorry, I forgot, but… can you tell me your name?... .."

Her gave shifted towards me. "I know you don't talk much, but forgetting my name is another thing entirely," she says as she started stepping closer to me leans over and asks. "Are you feeling okay? Because that actually hurt my feelings."

My gave suddenly shifted to an object that was on a table. "It's just that... .. I fell from a tree and hit my head earlier, so…"

I stood there wondering what she would say as my hands felt sweaty than usual.

I don't remember anything, so until my memory return someway, this will be my excuse, even though it feels as if I'm digging a grave for myself for some reason.

I need to understand what is happening and to do that is finding a way to remember. I have this weird feeling that makes me feel the understanding that I don't belong here.

I don't remember myself but if that's the case a memory trigger mostly works so if she knows more about me the better.

When I came in the kitchen earlier I noticed a letter of ingredients on the table written in a language I never seen before that much I deeply feel to know. Whoever I was here, it wasn't me. I don't know why I can't remember everything from my past, but little by little I feel like my memory seem to feel close when I see something familiar.

She turned her gave towards me as she. "That's a serious problem! You should be more careful, who knows what kind of condition I would have found you in, I didn't see any blood or scratches so I thought you where just walking around. But are you seriously telling me you can't remember."

Haru nodes.

"That's a serious problem why didn't you say anything sooner?! We should go see the madam right now. why didn't you say something earlier? My name won't do you any good." She says as she unfolds her sleeves.

I'm going to dig that grave foot size until I can remember something about what's happening to me but I proffer it not becoming a huge problem.

" It's not that bad, my memories seem close just a bit distant, don't worry too much about me, pointing things out might help me remember quickly though."

"That's why I was asking for your name, I thought at least I can start there." She says plainly.

"It's Akane."

"Hm?" I didn't expected her to give it up so easily.

"Nozomu Akane. My last and first name. Twenty years old and still single."

"Hhm?... Single?" That surprising. I didn't think she'd say anything beyond her name, let alone her relationship status.

"It's not fair isn't it? Anyway, what were you doing a tree?"

"Hm?..."

"Though after thinking about it, the owner of the mansion the young master is a real hottie. Too bad his getting married soon because of his engagement. Hey do you believe in fate and destiny, maybe I still have a chance!"

Then she starts twirling herself while pressing her hands together on her her chest. "No no, you wouldn't know. Why am I even asking you? Anyway, we need to seriously take you seriously."

Haru nodes but remains silent but in her head she says. "What is wrong with her."

"Oh Lord Takanori Zaikai! Sorry for going off track. Please forgive me." She says while she placed her hands together on her face.

She then turns her gave back to Haru. "Back to my question, what were you doing in the tree?"

Haru don't rush to answer or statle in her response.

"I can't remember. Everything beyond that is completely blank." There I go digging my grave too deep. But at that moment my thoughts came to an agreement that it is for the best.

"Does that mean I need to show you our room again?"

"Yes."

"It's that bad?! That explains how weird you have been washing this dishes today. You're hopeless sometimes you know that? Fine, let me show you where our room is."

With her eyes shut as a playful tear swings down her face she says. "This situation isn't okay at all.

Is she a naturally kind person?

Later that day just before the golden light touched only the roof part of the mansion.

"Here we are. I'm still on duty but you should rest here I'll be able to cover for you. So rest up and I'll come around soon."

Haru nodes.

I decided to revisit the area where I woke up after Akane left me alone, hoping to find some clue as to why I was in this world.

I started searching the ground but found nothing, so I just sat and watched the light day turn into golden light as the clouds drifted above me.

Deep down, I felt it. I didn't belong here so why am I here for. That is the question I need to solve.

"What are you doing here alone, Haru?" A voice that harms like it demands attention. Strong enough to leave a cloud of people silent from it's rethyme, a voice that can only define a man of nobility.

That voice… it wasn't one I'd heard today. it wasn't from someone I recognize either.

I rushly stood up as I thought to myself then who could it be.

The golden light hid his face I only sow grimes of he's face before the sun burnt my attention away each time I tried to look at his face.

"Who are you?"

"How about you come closer and take a look for yourself, since it's been a few months I not surprised you didn't recognize me. if you dare, please come closer." He says as he stood straight through out.

I became curious enough, I slowly took a step one after another slowly getting me closer towards him.

But as I was about to reach to him, my luck for the day run out as my food lost balance on an uneven ground.

Hopefully he was close enough to hold me in he's arms.

My gaze found his my silence follows through. I don't know how to react really, is it because of my missing memories?... or is it the emptiness I feel towards him.

This stranger who found me alone in the garden now let's me rest in his arms which he isn't pulling away, how should I describe it besides "A weird moment of life."
