Ryan's life continued as usual, morning lectures, lab work, department meetings, and now Carl.
Somewhere along the line, Carl's presence had gone from occasional visitor to a permanent resident. Half of Ryan's closet housed Carl's suits, hanging neatly beside Ryan's shirts. His sketchbooks and company files were stacked beside Ryan's research papers, and an extra chair now sat at his study desk.
Some evenings, Ryan typed away on his laptop, glasses perched on his nose as he edited a paper while Carl leaned over his sketch pad, pencil scratching the paper as he worked on new jewelry designs. Other times, Carl sat with his laptop open, hosting meetings with department heads or communicating with shareholders while Ryan graded assignments. Adalia got more than enough love showered on her and stationed herself at the center of the table, within stroking distance of both of them.
