Chapter 36 - Chapter Thirty-Six: Reuniting with Her Brother Tyler

Rhaenys's Bedchamber, 1509

Rhaenys stood in her bedchamber, disbelief etched across her face. "I can't believe you're alive!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion.

Tyler, leaning against the doorframe, smiled softly, trying to reassure her. "I never truly left, sister; I've always been with you in spirit." The warm glow of candlelight flickered around them, illuminating the joy and relief in her eyes.

Rhaenys stepped closer, her heart racing as she took in the familiar sight of her brother.

"And now, Tyler," Arthur interjected with a confident tone, "you will become a member of Rhaenys' royal guard." The gravity of the moment settled as Tyler nodded, ready to embrace his new role.

Rhaenys then says with a shocked expression to her father, "Wait, do you mean that, Dad?"

Her voice trembled with a mix of disbelief and excitement. "I never imagined I would have my brother by my side in such an important position!"

Arthur smiled warmly at his daughter, sensing her enthusiasm. "Yes, my dear," he replied.

"You will not only have your brother's support but also his loyalty and strength. Together, you will face the challenges ahead and protect our realm with courage." Rhaenys beamed, her heart swelling with pride and determination, knowing she was not alone in this daunting journey. "After all, you'll become the future queen of Camelot."

Rhaenys gasped, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Wait, the future queen of Camelot?"

Arthur nodded, his expression serious yet encouraging. "Indeed, my daughter. You have a wonderful destiny ahead of you."

Rhaenys felt a rush of responsibility wash over her. "But what if I'm not ready for such a role?"

"You will grow and learn," Arthur reassured her. "With your brother by your side, you will gain the wisdom necessary to lead."

Rhaenys took a deep breath, feeling a mixture of fear and exhilaration. "I won't let you down, Father."

Arthur smiled, pride evident in his eyes. "I know you won't, my dear."

As Rhaenys stood there, one of the guards entered the chambers, interrupting their moment. He cleared his throat, drawing their attention.

Arthur turned to the guard, curiosity etched on his face. "What is it?" he inquired, his tone serious.

"You have a message, King Arthur," the guard stated firmly.

Then the guard handed Arthur the message, and Arthur began reading it.

Rhaenys then asks, "What does the message say, Father?" The letter outlines preparations and living arrangements for her arrival. It states that accommodations will be provided not only for her but also for her traveling companions.

The intention is to ensure she has everything she needs. Arthur began to feel at home despite being in another country. The message concludes with hopes for a response that will initiate a strong alliance between the two kingdoms. Sincerely, Queen Elena Fraser of Dumbrock.

Arthur carefully folded the letter, a sense of warmth and anticipation swelling within him. He knew that this alliance could bring about significant changes, not only for his family but also for the futures of both kingdoms.

"Looks like we are making the journey to Dumbrock," Arthur said.

Rhaenys then says, "When are we leaving?"

Arthur glanced at her, his excitement palpable. "We need to prepare quickly; the sooner we depart, the better," he replied. He understood the importance of this alliance and the weight of their journey ahead.

Gathering supplies and rallying their companions would be essential for success. As he spoke, the vision of a united future for their kingdoms stirred hope in his heart. The road ahead would not be easy, but together, they could overcome any obstacle. "Let's set the date for tomorrow," Arthur concluded, determined.

Rhaenys nodded in agreement. "Okay, I understand. I'm totally fine with that."

Arthur then said, "Alright then, let's go and tell the others what's going on."

Rhaenys nods her head in agreement.

Then, the three of them left the bedchambers and made their way towards the throne room.

Kingdom of Dumbrock

The throne room of the Kingdom of Dumbrock is an awe-inspiring sight, adorned with rich tapestries depicting the kingdom's history. Massive stone pillars rise towards the ceiling, where intricate chandeliers cast a warm glow over the polished marble floor. The throne itself, made of dark wood and inlaid with gold, sits elevated on a dais, symbolizing the power of its occupant.

Surrounding the throne are intricately carved benches for the council, where advisors gather to discuss matters of state. Bright banners hang from the walls, each representing different noble houses, adding color to the grand space. The air is filled with a sense of authority and tradition, as the echoes of past rulers linger in the atmosphere.

Queen Elena Fraser strides into the room with an air of regal elegance. Her long, flowing gown, adorned with intricate embroidery, shimmers in hues of deep emerald and gold, accentuating her graceful figure. Her blond hair cascades in soft waves, framing a face that exudes both strength and compassion.

High cheekbones and a delicate jawline give her an air of nobility, while her piercing blue eyes seem to hold the wisdom of ages. A crown of gold rests lightly upon her head, embellished with sparkling jewels that catch the light with every movement. As she approaches the throne, the room falls silent, all eyes drawn to her commanding presence.

Ferguson, her husband, says, "Welcome, my beautiful queen."

She smiles warmly, her gaze sweeping over the gathered crowd, instilling a sense of calm and unity. "Thank you, my beloved," she replies, her voice rich and melodic, ready to address the challenges that lie ahead for their kingdom.

Ferguson then asks, "What brings you here, my love?"
