Chapter 17 - Chapter Seventeen: Arthur and the Knights Journey

The Traveling Road to Shanea Forbidden Forest, 1509

King Arthur turned to Merlin, a furrow forming on his brow. "How long will it take us to reach the Shanea Forbidden Forest?"

Merlin consulted his ancient map, tracing the route with his finger. "If we ride swiftly, we should arrive within three days."

Arthur nodded, feeling the weight of the journey ahead. "What dangers might we encounter along the way?"

Merlin's eyes narrowed as he considered their path. "There are whispers of bandits and dark creatures lurking in the shadows."

The knights exchanged worried glances, readying themselves for the challenges ahead. "Then we must prepare for an ambush," Arthur declared, determination in his voice.

With a resolute spirit, the group set forth, the road stretching ahead in uncertainty.

"Merlin, how vast is the Shanea Forbidden Forest?" Sir Tyler inquired, curiosity etched on his face.

Merlin paused, his mind racing through tales of the forest's expanse. "The forest is immense, stretching for miles and filled with secrets," he replied thoughtfully.

Arthur then says to Merlin, "So you're saying we might have a hard time finding my daughter?"

Merlin nodded solemnly. "Indeed, Arthur. The forest is not only vast but also treacherous, with paths that shift and creatures that guard its depths fiercely." The weight of the journey ahead settled heavily on the group as they braced themselves for what lay beyond the trees.

"Isn't there a way to track my sister with your magic, Merlin?" Sir Tyler asked, hope flickering in his eyes.

Merlin paused, his brow furrowing in concentration. "Magic can guide us, but it requires a personal connection," he replied. "We must first find something belonging to her, a token that will allow me to reach through the veil of the forest and locate her presence."

Arthur looked at Sir Tyler with a shocked expression. "Did you just say sister, Sir Tyler?" he exclaimed, still processing the sudden revelation.

Tyler nodded, his voice barely audible above a murmur. "Yes, your daughter is my sister through our mother, Nimue Broch Torah. But your daughter and I are only half siblings."

Arthur's eyes widened in disbelief. "How is this even possible? You look like you're the same age as—"

Sir Tyler interrupted, "It's a long story, Arthur.

Arthur leaned in, eager for clarity. "Why don't you start at the beginning?"

Sir Tyler took a deep breath, his gaze drifting toward the window as if searching for the right words. "It all began years ago, when I was a three-week-old baby. I fell off my father's lap and hit the floor hard."

Arthur's eyes widened in disbelief. "Did you fall as a baby? How does that explain this?"

Sir Tyler chuckled softly, "That's just the beginning, Arthur. After that fall, something extraordinary happened."

"What do you mean?" Arthur pressed, leaning even closer.

Sir Tyler took a deep breath, his expression turning serious. "My sister came downstairs from her bedroom and saw that I had fallen off the couch. So she came over and touched my chest, and unknowingly to her, she used her magic to save my life."

Arthur's eyes widened in disbelief. "Magic? Are you serious?"

Sir Tyler nodded, his gaze distant as he recalled the moment. "Yes, her magic has always been unpredictable, but on that day, it was powerful enough to pull me back from the edge of death."

Arthur leaned in closer, intrigued yet skeptical. "What happened next? Did she know what she had done?"

Sir Tyler sighed, his expression clouded by a mixture of regret and nostalgia. "At first, she was not aware of the extent of her powers, but the realization struck her hard when she saw me awake, breathing, and alive, despite all the challenges."

Arthur leaned in closer, intrigued yet skeptical. "What happened next? After she did what she did?"

Sir Tyler paused, gathering his thoughts as memories flooded back. "Then the next thing we knew, we came to this dimension and the Gauis room at Pendragon Castle."

Arthur asked Tyler, "Wait, did you and my daughter end up in Gauis' bedchamber?"

Tyler chuckled nervously, "Well, it's not what you think!" The tension in the air was palpable as everyone awaited the answer.

Tyler cleared his throat, trying to maintain a sense of composure. "He nearly dropped his potion ingredients all over the floor! After the initial shock, he actually found it quite amusing and welcomed us with open arms."

Arthur arched an eyebrow, captivated by the surprising development.

"Who would have thought?" he remarked, leaning in closer. "It sounds like there's more to this story than just a simple mishap."

Tyler nodded, a grin spreading across his face. "Oh, absolutely! The next thing Gauis knew, she disappeared a few minutes later."

" It turns out that she had gone to another dimension. Tyler expressed his sincerity, saying, "It wasn't even a few minutes later."

"How did you become the same age as her? This is particularly surprising given that the two of you were born a few years apart. Arthur asked, genuinely curious.

Tyler paused, contemplating the magic involved, and replied, "I guess it's all part of her magic that healed me."

Arthur raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the implications of such power. "So, you mean to say that her magic not only saved your life but also altered your age?"

Tyler chuckled softly, shaking his head in disbelief. "It's hard to wrap my mind around it, but it seems like her powers have a mind of their own," he replied, glancing towards the plateau.

Merlin then says, "I was surprised when I went to visit him and Gaius. He was the size of a six-year-old, which surprised me. The same age as your daughter."

Arthur looked at Merlin and Tyler with a shocked expression. "Wait, he grew to the same age and size as my daughter. In just a few days?"

Merlin nodded. "Yes, that is correct, your majesty. To this day I still can't figure out how your daughter's magic did that."

"That's incredible. My daughter is definitely special and powerful," Arthur said, his voice filled with pride. Everyone's heads nodded in agreement, acknowledging the unusual situation.

"We should continue our journey," Merlin suggested, glancing toward the horizon. Arthur looked at both Merlin and Tyler and his knights, who were still processing the revelation. "I agree, but we need to be cautious," he replied, determination in his eyes. The group set forth, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
