Chapter 22 - Chapter Twenty-Two: Rhaenys Chambers and Morgan’s Camp and Plans

Shanea Forbidden Forest Palace, Rhaenys Bedchamber, 1509

Rhaenys stepped into the room and exclaimed, "Wow!"

The room features rich tapestries depicting ancient legends, creating an atmosphere of intrigue and mystique.

A grand four-poster bed draped with silk curtains dominates the space, inviting rest and relaxation. Soft, ambient lighting from ornate sconces casts a warm glow, enhancing the room's enchanting ambiance.

A large window offers breathtaking views of the forest's lush greenery, allowing natural light to filter in during the day. Plush rugs cover the polished wooden floor, providing comfort underfoot and adding to the chamber's opulence.

In one corner, a delicate writing desk stands ready for Rhaenys to pen her thoughts, while a small fireplace adds warmth and a cozy charm. This room is not just a place to sleep; it is a sanctuary filled with beauty and inspiration.

Auraline smiled and asked Rhaenys, "What do you think? Do you like the bedchamber that you're going to be staying in?"

Rhaenys turned to Auraline, her eyes sparkling with appreciation. "It's more than I ever imagined," she replied, her voice filled with wonder. "It feels like a dream, a perfect refuge from the world outside."

Auraline beamed at her response, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having created such a welcoming space. "I knew you would love it," she said, gesturing towards the window where soft light filtered through the delicate curtains, casting a warm glow throughout the room.

Auraline then says to Rhaenys, "I'll leave you alone for a little bit to get settled."

Rhaenys nodded appreciatively, her heart swelling with gratitude. As Auraline stepped out, she took a deep breath, savoring the tranquility that enveloped her, and began to explore the little details that made the room so special.

"I'll find my way to you, Dad, I promise," she said, walking towards the window where soft light filtered through the delicate curtains, casting a warm glow throughout the room.

Far South Shanea Forbidden Forest Morgan's Base Camp

A mercenary approached Morgan, his demeanor serious yet respectful, reporting, "We have got Arthur and his men locked up, my lady."

Morgan raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the news. "Good work."

The mercenary then asks Lady Morgan, "What's the next step, my lady?"

Morgan contemplated for a moment, her gaze shifting from the meadow to the mercenary. "Prepare a horse and send one of the men to deliver a message," she replied decisively, her mind racing with the possibilities that lay ahead. "And ensure that the camp is secure; we can't afford any surprises."

The mercenary nodded, taking in her instructions with a seriousness that matched her tone.

As he turned to carry out her orders, Morgan's thoughts began to swirl, envisioning the challenges they would face in the days to come. "My plan is coming together perfectly; all I need now is our young princess. Then everything will fall into place perfectly."

Morgan's Base Camp Prison Tent

Arthur groaned as he regained consciousness, the dim light filtering through the trees. His head throbbed, and he struggled to remember what had happened before the darkness enveloped him.

Nearby, the knights stirred, their armor clanking softly as they too began to wake.

Merlin, rubbing his temples, muttered a spell to clear his mind, sensing the urgency of their situation.

"Where are we?" Arthur finally asked, looking around at his surroundings. The forest felt unfamiliar, and a sense of unease settled over him and the knights.

Merlin glanced up, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the dense foliage above. "We are deep in the Enchanted Woods," he replied, his voice low and steady. "Looks like we are in some kind of tent."

The air inside was thick with the scent of herbs and smoke, and strange symbols adorned the fabric walls.

Arthur then asked Merlin what kind of symbols these were. Merlin studied the symbols closely, contemplating their meaning.

"They represent ancient protection spells and entrapment spells," Merlin explained, tracing a finger over a particularly intricate design.

"Why are the symbols on the fabric?" Arthur asks with a curious tone.

Merlin glanced at Arthur, his eyes gleaming with wisdom. "The fabric itself acts as a conduit for the magic, allowing the spells to resonate and strengthen the protection within this space."

"Do you think Morgan put these symbols here?" Arthur asked, his brow furrowing in thought.

Merlin nodded slowly, a hint of concern crossing his face. "It's possible; she has always been skilled in the arts of enchantment."

Arthur leaned back, contemplating the implications of Morgan's involvement. "If she has indeed left her mark here, we must be cautious in how we proceed," he warned, his voice steady but laced with urgency.

Merlin agreed, his eyes scanning the intricate patterns etched into the stone walls. "We need to decipher their meaning before making any decisions; her magic can be unpredictable and potentially dangerous."

"Indeed, her skills in enchantment are formidable," Arthur replied, nodding in agreement with Merlin.

Everyone begins to study the symbols to figure out what they mean.

Shanea Forbidden Forest Palace, Rhaenys's Bedchamber

Auraline entered Rhaenys's bedchamber, her eyes scanning the room for signs of her friend. She spotted Rhaenys lying on the bed and approached her with concern. "How are you settling in?" "Auraline?" she asked with a curious tone.

Rhaenys opened her eyes slowly, a faint smile appearing on her lips. "It's strange, but I feel a sense of peace here, despite everything going on with my life lately," she replied, her gaze drifting to the window where the trees swayed gently in the breeze.

Auraline smiled softly, relieved to see her friend in a calmer state. "That's good to hear," she said, taking a seat beside Rhaenys. "Maybe this place is just what you need to find your footing again."

Rhaenys nodded, her thoughts swirling with a mix of hope and uncertainty. "I think you're right," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper as she took a deep breath, embracing the tranquility that enveloped them.

Auraline turned to Rhaenys, a playful glint in her eye. "How would you feel about a ball tonight?"
