Chapter 21 - Chapter Twenty-One: Meeting Lady Auraline

Shanea Forbidden Forest Palace, 1509

Auraline, a young elf woman with striking blue eyes and medium-length shiny brown hair, gracefully entered the throne room of the Forbidden Forest Palace in 1509.

Her fair skin glowed softly in the ambient light as she approached Serephina, Rhaenys, and Rynlyf, who were deep in conversation. The atmosphere was tense, filled with the weight of unspoken words. Auraline's presence brought a sense of calm, as she was known for her wisdom and kindness.

Serephina looked up first, a smile breaking her serious demeanor, while Rhaenys and Rynlyf turned their attention to the newcomer. The three welcomed her warmly, eager to hear what she had to share.

"Auraline says, 'Your Majesty,'" she declared, bowing gracefully to Queen Serephina.

Serephina met Auraline's gaze, her smile widening. "Thank you for gracing us with your presence, Auraline," she replied warmly.

Auraline straightened, the soft glow of her aura illuminating the room as she began to speak. "Of course, Auntie. I'm honored to be here." She announced the occasion with a steady voice filled with promise.

Serephina introduced her niece Auraline to Rynlyf, and they were welcomed warmly.

"It's an honor to meet you," says Lady Auraline.

Rynlyf bowed slightly, a genuine smile breaking across his face. "The honor is mine, Lady Auraline," he replied, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Serephina then introduces Auraline to Rhaenys.

Serephina then says to Auraline, "Rhaenys is the daughter of King Arthur Pendragon." Auraline's eyes widened with intrigue at the mention of such a legendary figure.

Auraline says, "Wait, did you just say Arthur Pendragon?"

Seraphina nods and replies, "Yes, that's right!" Auraline smiles brightly, her excitement palpable.

Then Auraline looks at Rhaenys with a smile on her face.

"Your Highness," Auraline said, her heart racing at the sight of the regal figure before her.

Rhaenys curtsies to Lady Auraline and then says, "Lady Auraline, it's an honor to meet you."

Auraline felt a rush of excitement at the princess's words, her admiration growing deeper. " The pleasure "The pleasure is truly mine, Princess Rhaenys," she replied, her voice steady despite her nerves as she contemplated the weight of the royal lineage before her. contemplated the weight of the royal lineage before her.

Seraphina then explained, "Auraline is my husband's niece." She smiled warmly, proud of the connection between her family and the royal bloodline.

Rhaenys then says, "That's really cool." Auraline, it's really cool to be able to live close to family."

Auraline nodded, feeling a sense of pride and belonging as she acknowledged Rhaenys's words. She agreed wholeheartedly, cherishing the bond that tied her to Seraphina and the royal family.

Seraphina then asks her niece, "Auraline, will you please escort Rhaenys to one of our bed chambers?"

Auraline obliged with a nod, feeling her heart swell with excitement at the thought of sharing her home with Rhaenys.

"Of course, Auntie! I would be honored to do that," Auraline replied enthusiastically.

Seraphina looked at Auraline with gratitude, feeling her heart filled with warmth. "Thank you, dear niece, for your kindness," she said sincerely. Auraline beamed at the praise, feeling a sense of pride swell within her.

"It's my pleasure, Auntie! Rhaenys will love it here," she replied, eager to show Rhaenys around. The two young women exchanged excited glances, knowing the visit would be a special time together. Seraphina watched them leave, her heart light as she appreciated the closeness of their family bonds.

Rynlyf felt her heart filled with warmth. "Thank you, your majesty, for your kindness," she said sincerely.

Serephina beamed at the praise, feeling a sense of pride swell within her. "It's my pleasure, Rynlyf! Rhaenys will love it here," she replied, eager to show her around.

As they walked through the opulent halls, she couldn't help but share stories of their family's history, eager to deepen the connection that was now blossoming between them.

Rhaenys turned to Auraline with curiosity. "How long have you been staying with Queen Serephina and her family?" she inquired.

Auraline smiled, recalling the warmth of her time there. "I've been here for nearly a year now, and every moment has been an adventure," she responded, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Queen Serephina has taught me so much about our heritage and the responsibilities that come with it."

Rhaenys nodded, intrigued by Auraline's experiences. "It sounds like you've learned a tremendous deal. What has been the most surprising lesson for you?" she asked, eager to hear more about her new friend's journey.

Auraline paused for a moment, considering her response. "I think the most surprising lesson has been understanding the weight of leadership," she said thoughtfully. "It's not just about making decisions; it's about understanding the impact those decisions have on our people and our future."

"Wow, that's incredible," Rhaenys exclaimed, captivated by Auraline's insights.

Auraline then says to Rhaenys, "I had no idea Arthur had a daughter."

Then, Rhaenys adds, "Until a few days ago, I was unaware that he was my father."

Auraline's eyes widened in disbelief. "That must have been quite a shock for you," she responded, her voice filled with empathy. "How are you feeling about it all?"

Rhaenys took a deep breath, her thoughts swirling. "Honestly, it's overwhelming," she admitted, her gaze drifting to the window as if searching for clarity. "Part of me is excited to learn about my heritage, but another part feels lost in this new identity."

Auraline nodded, sympathizing with Rhaenys's emotions. "It's completely normal to feel both excitement and confusion," she reassured her. "Embracing who you are is a journey, and it's okay to take your time."

Rhaenys felt a flicker of hope at Auraline's words. "I just wish I knew where to start," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she turned back to face her friend.

Auraline smiled gently, sensing the weight of Rhaenys's uncertainty. "Why not start by exploring the traditions that resonate with you? Connecting with your roots can be a powerful first step."

"Thank you, Auraline," Rhaenys said softly, feeling the warmth of her friend's support. "Your encouragement means a lot, especially during this confusing time." She took a deep breath, contemplating the idea of exploring her traditions. "I never thought of it that way, but it makes sense to connect with my roots."

Auraline smiles and says, "You're welcome, Rhaenys. That's what friends are for. Here we are; these will be the chambers that you'll be staying in. While you're here with us."

Then Auraline opens the doors, and the two of them enter the bed chambers.
