Chapter 20 - Chapter Twenty: Meeting Queen Seraphina of the Shanea Forbidden Forest Part Two

Shanea Forbidden Forest Palace, 1509

As Rhaenys wandered through the throne room of the palace, she caught sight of an enchanting elf woman.

The elf, Queen Seraphina, stood gracefully beneath the ancient trees, her ethereal beauty captivating all who beheld her. Seraphina's long, silvery hair cascaded like a waterfall, shimmering with hints of moonlight. Her skin, radiant and flawless, glowed softly, as if kissed by the stars themselves. Adorned in intricate robes woven from the finest silks, she exuded an aura of elegance and power.

Her emerald eyes sparkled with wisdom and kindness, drawing Rhaenys closer to her presence. The queen held a staff crafted from a rare wood, intricately carved with symbols of her lineage, symbolizing her deep connection to the forest. In that moment, Rhaenys felt a profound sense of respect for the regal figure before her.

"By the stars themselves," Rynlyf said, bowing deeply to the queen.

"Your majesty, it is an honor to stand in your presence," Rynlyf continued, his voice steady despite the weight of the moment. The queen smiled warmly, her authority tempered by an undeniable warmth, as if she sensed the importance of this encounter for both of them.

Queen Seraphina then says, "It's wonderful to see you again, Rynlyf. How have you been?"

Rynlyf straightened, his heart racing at her recognition. "I have been well, my queen. Thank you for asking."

"You always light up a room with your kindness," he replied, feeling a rush of gratitude.

Her eyes sparkled with sincerity, and Rynlyf couldn't help but feel a deep sense of connection. "Your words mean more to me than you know," she continued, her voice soft yet commanding, "and I hope you understand the impact you have on those around you."

Rynlyf nodded, acutely aware of the weight of her statement. "I strive to be a source of strength for others, just as you are for me," he said, his voice steady, emboldened by her faith in him.

Queen Seraphina said, "Thank you, Rynlyf." She couldn't help but feel a connection to her old friend.

"Your majesty, may I introduce you to Rhaenys Pendragon." Rynlyf said, stepping forward. He felt a sense of pride in presenting her, knowing the significance of the moment.

Rhaenys stood tall, her presence commanding the room as she greeted the queen. "It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesty," she said, her voice steady and confident.

Queen Seraphina studied Rhaenys, noting the determination in her eyes. "The honor is mine," she replied warmly, sensing that this young princess would play a crucial role in the future of their kingdom.

Rynlyf looked at the queen, curiosity evident in her eyes. "Your Majesty, why have you summoned us here to the palace?"

Seraphina then says, "The reason I summoned you is because of Princess Rhaeny." Rhaenys felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension at the mention of her name.

"Me, your majesty," says Rhaenys?

"Yes, Rhaenys," Seraphina continued, her gaze steady and serious. "You possess a unique gift that could change the fate of our realm, and it is time for you to embrace your destiny."

Rhaenys's heart raced as she processed Seraphina's words. "What do you mean by a unique gift?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, filled with both curiosity and fear.

"Your power as the savior lies within you, Rhaenys," Seraphina explained, her tone both calming and firm. "You were chosen to be a ray of hope, capable of uniting our people in times of darkness."

Rhaenys felt a mix of apprehension and excitement at the weight of her potential. "But how can I possibly wield such power?" she questioned, her brow furrowed in doubt.

"You were born with it, Rhaenys," says Queen Seraphina.

Rhaenys, with a shocked expression, said, "Wait, I was born with this power?"

"Yes," Seraphina replied, her eyes shining with conviction. "Your lineage is steeped in magic, and it is time for you to embrace it fully."

"Did I inherit it from my mother?" Rhaenys asked, her curiosity growing.

The queen nodded, affirming the connection to her family's legacy.

Seraphina explained, her voice steady and reassuring, "Your mother was a formidable sorceress; her gifts were passed down to you."

Rhaenys's eyes widened in disbelief. "Wow, I was born with this power?"

"Yes," Seraphina replied, her eyes shining with conviction. "Your lineage is steeped in magic, and it is time for you to embrace it fully."

Rhaenys felt a surge of excitement mixed with apprehension. "But how do I control it?" she asked, eager to learn the ways of her ancestors.

Seraphina smiled knowingly, sensing Rhaenys's determination. "The key lies in understanding your emotions and the bond you share with the elements around you," she explained. "With practice and patience, you'll find that the magic flows through you more naturally than you think."

Rhaenys nodded, absorbing Seraphina's words. "Okay, and thank you for your confidence, Seraphina. I sincerely appreciate it."

Seraphina placed a reassuring hand on Rhaenys's shoulder. "Remember, every great sorceress started as a novice, and the journey is just as important as the destination."

Rhaenys smiled, feeling a surge of determination. "I won't forget that," she replied, her voice steady. With newfound resolve, she turned her gaze toward the horizon, ready to embrace the challenges ahead.

Rynlyf then says to Seraphina, "With your permission, I would like to escort Rhaenys to my home before it gets too late."

Seraphina looked at Rynlyf, her expression thoughtful. "I appreciate your offer, Rynlyf. But I think it might be best if the princess stays here at the palace."

Rynlyf nodded, understanding the concern in her eyes. "Very well, but I hope you'll allow me to assist in any way I can," he replied, a hint of determination still in his tone as he stepped back, ready to respect her wishes while silently vowing to keep a watchful eye on Rhaenys.

Serephina says, "Yes, of course. I wouldn't have it any other way, Rynlyf."

Rhaenys nodded in agreement, appreciating Serephina's willingness to keep her safe. "I agree; it is best for me to remain here at the palace," she said firmly.

Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.

Then someone enters the throne room through the double doors.
