POV: Ember
I slammed the laptop shut and pushed it away from me on the kitchen table.
"This is impossible!" I groaned, dropping my head into my hands.
"What's impossible?" Ash asked, walking in from outside with muddy boots.
"Getting married. Legally, I mean. I've been researching for hours, and there's no state in the country that allows someone to marry two people."
Cade looked up from where he was helping Hunter build a tower with blocks. "So what do we do?"
"I don't know. Have a fake ceremony? Pretend we're married when we're really not?"
The idea made my stomach hurt. After everything we'd been through, I wanted our promises to mean something real.
"What about a pack ceremony?" Ash suggested, sitting down beside me. "Werewolf law is different from human law."
"Would that be legal?"
"Not in human courts, but it would be binding for our pack. And any other pack that recognizes Wolf Council authority."
