POV: Marcus
I slammed my fist on the desk so hard that my coffee mug jumped and spilled everywhere.
"This is madness!" I roared at the empty office. "Absolute madness!"
But even as I said the words, I could hear my grandson's laughter drifting through the window from the playground outside. Hunter was squealing with joy as Cade pushed him on the swing while Ash helped Hope climb the monkey bars.
Both men. Working together. Taking care of my grandchildren like it was the most natural thing in the world.
I walked to the window and watched them. Cade caught Hunter when he jumped from the swing, spinning him around until the boy giggled uncontrollably. Then Ash boosted Hope up to reach the highest bar, steadying her when she wobbled.
They looked like a family. A strange, unconventional family, but a happy one.
"Alpha Marcus?"
I turned to see Beta Stevens in my doorway, his face worried.
