POV: Ash
I nearly crashed the truck when Ember suddenly grabbed my arm and pointed out the window.
"Stop! There's a farmer's market!" she said excitedly. "Can we please go? I haven't been to one in years."
Cade, who was sitting in the passenger seat, turned to look at me with raised eyebrows. This wasn't part of our carefully planned first official three-way date.
We'd spent all week arguing about where to go. Dinner seemed too formal. A movie meant we couldn't talk. Mini golf felt ridiculous. Finally, we'd settled on a simple drive through the countryside, just the three of us getting to know each other again without the kids.
"Are you sure?" I asked, pulling into the dusty parking lot. "There are a lot of people here."
"So? We can't hide forever."
She was right, but my stomach twisted with nerves. Walking around as a threesome was going to draw attention. People would stare and whisper and ask questions we didn't know how to answer.
