This servant girl must truly think I am a fool. Did she really believe I would let her stumble upon such secrets and walk away untouched? No, there are far better ways to silence her for good.
She should have known at the very moment that I had asked her if she heard the conversation between my son and I that I knew already that she heard everything.
I tilted my head and smiled coldly at my son. "Tyrant," I said in a voice that slid like a knife through the air, "use the pillow. Cover her face. Let her sniff herself to death. No one will question a servant who stopped breathing or who collapsed to death."
Tyrant's grin widened cruelly as he obeyed without hesitation. He seized the girl, Diana, and slammed her onto my bed. Her gasp echoed through the chamber, her legs kicking wildly as he pressed the pillow hard over her face.
