LUCIUS POV.
I walked towards the garden, where my father had told me that Marissa was crying. I just hated the fact that I was going to apologize to her just like it's my fault that I don't like her not to say 'love,' I felt annoyingly frustrated.
I did not say a word to any of Marissa's parents and not even my father, who stood there staring at me with daggering eyes. If eyes could kill, I would have been long gone.
Marissa on the other hand, sat with her head bowed, sulking in the comfort of her mother's arms. Her father, Alpha Lycan, stood beside them, his eyes looking sharp and dangerous, watching my every step as though he was waiting for me to make one wrong move.
But I ignored him. For now, I couldn't allow myself to be provoked. I forced a steady breath, walked up to Marissa, and gently tapped her shoulder. She lifted her face, streaks of her makeup marked her cheeks, and for a moment, I saw the girl beneath the pride…the girl my arrogance had wounded.
