Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Emi, are you sure you want to go on this trip?" William asked his beloved wife, who was sitting in the passenger seat next to him, looking out the window at the dense, dark forest beyond.

"Yes, honey. It's fine, really. Those people have helped us so much. If they happily invited us, we can't help but go, hmm?" Emily said to her husband, who was driving the car with a frown along the seemingly endless deserted road.

"I know, Honey, but those people invited you knowing your condition. I'm angry. It's okay if at least it's a good time. You wanted to go right now too. Damn, we were supposed to leave tomorrow morning. It doesn't matter if there is at least one known path. Going on an unknown road to a place you've never been to before-"

"Willy.. calm down a little.. don't be afraid, our little one won't bother us. We're fine.. you know very well that we have to go on this trip today. So don't worry about it.. you.. you're worrying our little one too." Emily said while rubbing her eight-month-old belly and enjoying the movements baby made. Minjae, who had one hand on the steering wheel and the other on his wife's belly, had a beautiful smile on his face, forgetting his worry for a moment.

Emily and William were on their way to Emily's best friend's new house. Her friend and her husband, who wanted to live a little more freely, had bought that house in a somewhat deserted area. She had decided to throw a small housewarming party for the occasion, and even though she knew about her best friend Emily's situation, she couldn't resist inviting her. Instead, she told Emily to "only if you can," but Emily didn't want to miss her best friend's special day, who had been a great strength in their business since the beginning.

Emily and William, who had left home in the evening to go to the party that was to be held at night, decided to use Google Map to go to Emily's friend Olivia's house because they had never been to that area before. But if they had just thought about how much they could trust that Google Map, they would never have gone on this trip today.

"Isn't there a main road to get there, Willy? Look, this road is not a road that a car can drive on."

"If only we knew the way. This Google Map doesn't show us the roads that can be taken. Even the shortest possible route only shows side roads." Minho said angrily with Google Map.

"Shit! Why did Olivia choose this direction? If it weren't for Google Maps, we would definitely get lost." Wiiliam started complaining again.

William drove the car for a few more minutes along the deserted road that lay in the middle of a dense forest with no human habitation nearby. But the next moment, they both realized the folly of trusting Google Map.

"Oh no no no!!" William said.

"Why what?"

"Shit! Shit! Shit! Don't tell me now that the signal is stuck here!!" William stopped the car.

"Tell me why what happened."

"Google Map has been stuck without a signal for so long. I thought we should continue straight. Look, if we're going straight from here, we should turn right. But at that time, this damn thing was stuck. Now it's gone. Our track has changed."

"So what do we do now?" Emily asked her husband, her eyes wide with fear.

"Oh my god, we've passed the place where we should turn and come about a kilometer and a half. There's no space to turn the car on this narrow road. We can't even reverse for a kilometer and a half. Shit!" William rested his head on his hands on the steering wheel in frustration. Emily panicked when she heard that. William, seeing that his wife was very scared, quickly tried to comfort her.

"Oh.. honey, don't be scared. Is everything okay? I'm here. Let's keep going like this. Maybe there's a way to turn around ahead. Then we can turn around and get back on the right path." William said and kissed his wife's forehead. Emily just smiled and nodded.

As he said, William continued driving until he found a way to turn around. After a few more minutes, they still didn't find a way to turn around.

"Mhh ahh" William, hearing a groan from Emily, immediately braked the car and looked at his wife with wide eyes.

"Are you hurting, baby?!"

"Mhmm no.. It hurts a little. That's it, don't worry." Emily said while taking a deep breath.

"Keep breathing like that, honey, and you'll be fine." William said while stroking Emily's head.

"Shall we get out for a while? I'm having a hard time staying in the car right now. If I get out for a while and breathe, this situation will go away." William nodded at Emily's words and quickly got out of the car and ran to the passenger seat to help his wife get out.

After getting out, the two of them leaned against the car, which Emily felt a little more comfortable with, and talked about things for a while. The only light they had was the light from the lamppost on the road a little further away and the light from the car's headlights.

"Emi."

"Hmm?"

"If we find a house a little further along, can we ask if we can stay there tonight?"

"What? Why is that?"

"I don't want to go there right now. Let's stay somewhere and leave tomorrow morning. You look very tired too. You look pale. There are few trees here. That means there must be houses in the nearby forest."

"Hmm." Emily agreed. She was really tired after sitting for several hours. She really needed a break now, so she agreed with William's idea. Then William tried to help Emily get into the car, but he stopped because he suddenly saw something in the forest.

"Emi, did you see that?"

"What?"

"You can see a yellow light from inside that forest, right? There!"

"Oh, yes. What is that?"

"I think there's a house somewhere inside the forest. You stay in the car and I'll go and look. If it's a house, you don't have to tired anymore." William said while laughing happily. But Emily frowned.

"Why didn't we see it for so long?"

"For some reason, I think the lights are on now. Come on, don't think so much. If it's not a house, I'll come back. You stay in the car until I get there, okay?"

Without letting Emily say anything, William carefully got out of the car, closed the door, and ran towards the yellow light that was barely visible from the forest.

Meanwhile, Emily watched her husband go and sighed. She had been waiting, five minutes? No, she had been waiting for ten minutes, but William still hadn't come. Now, things started to flow into Emily's mind. Emily, holding her hand to her stomach, waited even more patiently.

"William, please come quickly. I'm scared. Are you in trouble?! Oh my God, don't let that happen." Emily spent a few more minutes thinking to herself. Emily kept looking in the direction William had gone, without blinking, waiting for her husband to come any moment. The yellow light continued to appear just like that. But the next moment, Emily's eyes widened as a brighter green light began to spread from that direction, surpassing the yellow light. The light from the lamppost in the distance also began to go off and on. A sudden thought made Emily carefully get out of the car and walk slowly in the direction William had gone, gradually ignoring the pain in his stomach.

As the light that had been barely visible before gradually became clearer, Emily began to hear strange sounds. Her heart began to beat faster, and her whole body trembled with fear, and the subtle pain in her lower abdomen began to tremble. Emily's eyes widened as she saw the scene clearly, and she felt faint, trying her best to look at her husband.

"Wi-William?? No.. No.. No!!!!"

NEXT DAY MORNING

Here is a special news that has just been received,

The Heirs Group CEO Mr. William Johnson and his wife Mrs. Emily Johnson died mysteriously the last night, and their bodies were found in a forest in Oakham, a deserted area in East Midlands a few moments ago. Police operations were launched this morning following a complaint by Mrs. Olivia Bennett, a friend of Mrs. Emily Johnson, who said that the couple had come to the area to attend a party scheduled to be held at her home. However, police say the two deaths are mysterious because according to the autopsy report, there were no injuries or bruises on the bodies. The coroner has also stated that the cause of death was unusual physical weakness.

Also, although the trees around the body were seen to be crushed and crushed, the reason for this has not yet been found. Another surprising thing is that according to the information received, although Mrs. Johnson was eight months pregnant, she somehow gave birth to the baby last night and the little baby has disappeared. Local residents and hunters who frequent the forest say that searching for a newborn baby alive in that forest area with a lot of wild animals is a futile task. In any case, these two mysterious deaths have left many questions. For what purpose did the two go into the forest? Unusual physical weakness? The missing baby? What caused the bruises on the trees? It is impossible to say whether these problems will be solved or will they continue to be problems. From Oakham, via BNO news, I'm Henry Adams.

"I can't believe what I'm hearing and seeing now. Oh my god, what's happening to this world?" the restaurant owner, who was watching the news on the restaurant's TV, said to his team, shaking his head from side to side.

Meanwhile, there was a person who was listening to the same news from the front of the tavern.

"A baby? How did I miss it? It doesn't matter, It's just a little one." The man thought to himself and left with a satisfied smile on his face. After going a short distance, the man looked around and disappeared into black smoke, invisible to anyone.

But little did that person know that missing baby would be the biggest missing him in his life...
