Sunshine was not surprised that her eldest son had finally made a move and gotten rid of all the alcohol in the house. Ariel had been threatening to do so for a while now.
The fact that he had actually acted on his threats meant only one thing_ whatever had happened last night must have been very annoying for him.
She rubbed her temple, a dull ache spreading through her head like a slow thunder. The fragments of last night played back in hazy flashes_ laughter, clicking bottles, calling the boys icicles and exhaling mist like cigar smoke. She had also fallen off the kitchen counter while trying to do something that she could not recall.
The rest of the memory was darkness.
"No wonder my shoulder hurts." She groaned in mild pain. Her eyes widened as she recalled why she had fallen. It was because she had been trying to steal Ariel's cookies!
No wonder he wanted the alcohol gone.
