Chapter 219 - Chapter 219: Savage Beast

From the depths of the sea, a strange and eerie voice echoed. Immediately after, a figure soared into the sky from the distant ocean.

The moment it ascended, the distant sky abruptly turned a brilliant blue. The sea surged upward, seemingly devouring the sky. From the two massive ships, it looked as though the world ahead had been completely engulfed by ocean.

For the first time, a change appeared on Cai Yue'er's face. Her eyes grew solemn.

Everyone aboard the ships was stunned. What kind of terrifying existence could cause such a reaction from a Super Douluo who also wore a three-word battle armor? That level of power meant Cai Yue'er was already at the level of Limit Douluo!

Gu You's violet eyes gleamed as he activated his Purple Demon Eyes to observe the thing emerging from the deep sea.

It appeared humanoid in the upper body, but its lower half consisted of twelve massive octopus-like tentacles. Suspended in midair, its aura surged violently, pressing down on Cai Yue'er like an invisible tide.

"Savage Beast?" Mu Ye blurted out, his face full of shock.

Savage Beasts were soul beasts that had cultivated for over 200,000 years. In ancient times, the Douluo Continent had known of the Ten Great Savage Beasts. They had once shaken the entire continent. Some of them had submitted to the mighty Huo Yuhao—the Ice Spirit Douluo of ten thousand years past—while others had been slain by him. The rest disappeared without a trace. The most powerful among them was the Beast God, the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King, who had reached an unbelievable cultivation of 800,000 years and was once hailed as the strongest being of his time.

Given that the ocean covered more of the planet's surface than land, it wasn't surprising that a Savage Beast would be found in its depths.

Now, with one Savage Beast and two other hundred-thousand-year soul beasts, the sea soul beast army finally possessed the strength to threaten the convoy.

The soaring figure rapidly expanded. Bathed in the backdrop of the rising ocean, it transformed into a colossal creature over a kilometer in diameter—a giant octopus. Its countless tentacles lashed out, instantly stirring the sea into a frenzy. Even Cai Yue'er's suppressive aura struggled to maintain its dominance.

"Roar!" The Deep Sea Demon Whale King let out a thunderous bellow, and the entire sea soul beast army charged at the two ships.

Cai Yue'er flashed into motion, becoming a streak of moonlight. She raised her staff high, and the suspended silver moon in the sky cast down a brilliant moonbeam. It landed upon the silver plate atop her staff and was then focused into a sharp needle of light, shooting toward the massive octopus.

The giant octopus waved its limbs, releasing countless purple energy orbs that rippled outward in layers to intercept Cai Yue'er's attack. The two titanic forces collided in a blinding explosion of light and pressure.

While the strongest among them clashed in the sky, the defensive battle aboard the two ships had already begun.

With rumbling booms, brilliant beams of light burst from the soul tool cannon ports on both ships. These soul tool batteries were powered by arrays of energy cells and, if necessary, could be operated by soul masters injecting their own soul power.

Each soul cannon held formidable power. The most advanced could even match the output of a Title Douluo's attack.

Explosions rocked the ocean, and as the sea soul beasts slammed into the ships' protective shields, dazzling rings of energy erupted across the surfaces.

Fortunately, both contingents had prepared thoroughly for this journey. Their defensive capabilities and energy reserves were substantial, so even under heavy assault, they managed to hold the line.

Above the water, four top-ranked fighters—all at least three-word battle armor masters—divided into two groups. They confronted the Deep Sea Demon Whale King and the Demon Soul Great White Shark King. But even with their combined might, they were nearing their limits. After all, this was the sea—home turf for their adversaries.

Chaos engulfed the scene.

"This has to be your fault, right?" Mu Ye appeared beside Gu You, his tone accusatory.

Gu You rolled his eyes. "Like you've never killed a Great White Shark? Besides, I didn't kill them—I gave them a better life."

"You've got jokes, huh? So what's your plan? Let this whole mess just keep going?" Mu Ye grumbled.

"I'll step in when necessary," Gu You replied, his expression sharpening. "When you guys are truly getting wrecked."

"You…" Mu Ye backed off, muttering something as he stood on the balcony, watching the battle above with no intention of helping.

Wu Zhangkong narrowed his eyes and cast a long look at Mu Ye. Then, with a flash, he shot into the sky. White sparks flared as his Heavenly Frost Armor enveloped him. The Heavenly Frost Sword materialized in his hand, and with a brilliant gleam, he shot from the protective barrier and into the open sky like a comet.

Wu Zhangkong, a Seven-Ring Soul Sage with two-word battle armor, had close to Title Douluo-level combat power. And more than that—he was Wu Zhangkong!

Below, one Demon Soul Great White Shark spotted him. Its dorsal fin flashed silver as a blade of energy shot toward him like a flying guillotine.

The Heavenly Frost Sword slashed. An ethereal arc of icy light cut through the silver energy effortlessly. Then Wu Zhangkong's silver battle armor erupted with light as he dove toward the sea.

Soul rings flickered one after another, and the light of his seventh ring bloomed brilliantly.

A peculiar transformation took place. The Heavenly Frost Sword expanded in midair, and Wu Zhangkong merged into it. An overwhelming sword intent radiated outward.

The gigantic Heavenly Frost Sword descended—his seventh soul skill, Martial Soul True Body!

But the sword's target wasn't a sea beast. Instead, it plunged straight into the ocean.

In the next instant, the waters around Wu Zhangkong began to freeze rapidly. Misty steam rose as frost spread in all directions. Sea soul beasts within a several-hundred-meter radius were flash-frozen.

Mu Ye's eyes flickered. "He's using his Martial Soul True Body to freeze the ocean and contain the battlefield. At least twenty ten-thousand-year sea soul beasts are now encased in ice. But why didn't he kill them outright?"

Just then, a violent jolt rocked the ship. "Boom!"

The protective barrier trembled and flickered.

There were simply too many sea soul beasts. Though the ships were advanced, they weren't designed for full-scale war. The constant impacts began to wear down the shields. More and more mech suits launched from the decks to reinforce the defenses, but the advantage remained with the sea beasts.

If the barriers failed, if the ships were damaged—

Everything could be lost.
