Prologue - The First Tale Of A Rose

You've seen how fairy tales always end in sweet and happy endings? Ever seen one with a sad and sorrowful end? Maybe you have, and I just haven't noticed. But what about a fairy tale with a bittersweet ending? Ever heard of that? Maybe this book is one of those.

The clock strikes two. In the cold, icy winter, hidden deep behind castle walls, a quiet room is suddenly filled with the cries of a newborn baby. A deep, masculine voice—like death itself has come to speak—breaks the silence. It's the king. "My dear, what would you like to name our beautiful baby?" The queen, pleased and smiling from ear to ear, replies in a voice so alluring it feels like a siren's song or a witch's charm. "I would love to call her… Vira."

"That's a lovely name, my dear," the king responds joyfully, placing a gentle kiss on the queen's forehead. As the blissful days passed, Vira grew. At the age of six, she became the kingdom's little sunshine. And on one particular day—June 29th—Vira celebrated her birthday and the birth of her baby brother.

You're bored, aren't you? You think this is going to be another cliché Disney tale. Oh, c'mon! I promise things are going to get very interesting. Just keep reading. You'll see.
