"I asked you a question!" Wonder Woman's voice cracked through the air like a whip. "How dare you come here? You have no jurisdiction in this city!"

Jason lifted his hands in mock surrender, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "I know, I know. But as you can see, I didn't kill her. I just helped a fellow hero save a city from a villain. Isn't that what we do?"

The sword's edge pressed harder against his neck. "Don't you dare compare us to each other!"

"Oh? Why's that?" Jason tilted his head slightly, eyes meeting hers without flinching. "I consider you someone the same as I. Aren't we both warriors who stand against the monsters of this world?"

"You are a killer, not a warrior," Diana spat, her tone like cold steel.

Jason's grin widened just slightly. "Isn't that what a warrior is? A killer—one who kills for their nation, their ideals, their sense of justice? That's what I do. I don't remember ever killing someone who didn't deserve it."

"And who are you to decide such a thing?!"

"As I said…" Jason's voice dropped lower, heavier. "…I am a warrior, Diana. Simple as that. And in battle, a warrior doesn't always have the luxury to choose who lives and who dies. This—" he gestured to the broken streets, the faint heat still rising from Giganta's fall— "is my battlefield. A war against villains, against the darkness rotting the world, where these monsters commit their crimes again and again without real consequences."

Diana's gaze stayed locked on him, hard and unyielding. Then, with a slow breath, she lowered her sword and sheathed it. "What do you want?"

Jason's smile softened. "Well… I just wanted to thank you. For the help. Against Superman. If it wasn't for you, things might've gone badly for me."

"Well, you're welcome. Now leave." She turned away without ceremony.

"Aw, come on now…" Jason's tone took on an easy, teasing lilt. "Can't you be a bit more gracious? I want to thank my savior properly. And as a beautiful lady, you deserve a fine dinner." He gave a respectful bow and extended his hand.

Diana glanced at it, an eyebrow lifting. "Oh? Aren't you a little young to try something like that on me? What is it you really want?"

"Come to dinner with me," Jason replied smoothly. "You'll find out."

A short silence passed before Diana sighed. "Fine. But make it interesting. If not, don't ever speak to me again."

Jason chuckled. "Wow, can't believe I charmed the beautiful Amazonian princess."

"Don't push your luck," Diana warned, already walking away. "I'm only interested in what you have to say. If Batman's opinion is anything to go by, you're someone I should be wary of. See you this evening, kid. Find out where yourself."

....

Jason stepped into Ambrosia Prime—an ultra-exclusive dining hall of towering marble columns, gilded mosaics, and crystal chandeliers. The air smelled of saffron, fresh basil, and power.

He approached the reservation counter, his voice calm but certain."I'd like your best seat."

The receptionist barely glanced up. "I'm sorry, sir. We're fully booked. Reservations are taken online or by phone—the earliest is next month."

Jason gave a polite smile. "Is that so? Well, that's a shame… but I'm not someone who takes no for an answer." He gave a small wink, the kind that promised a generous tip.

The man's gaze flicked over Jason's tailored—but not ostentatious—suit. His lip curled. "Your money means nothing here. This place is for far richer people."

Jason sighed inwardly.I get why Diana comes here… the taste of home. But these people? Annoying.

He pulled out his phone. "Hi, Nia. I'm in Washington—Ambrosia Prime. They're saying my money's not good enough here. Can you fix that?"He hung up without another word.

"Sir, please," the receptionist said, his tone sharpening. "This act isn't going to get you anywhere. Step outside before I have to call security."

Jason simply exhaled, bored.

Less than a minute later, a man in a pristine white suit came rushing from the back."Sir! Are you Jason Anderson?"

The receptionist blinked. "Anderson?"

"I apologize, sir!" The manager looked furious at his employee. "He's new. We didn't realize you'd grace us tonight. Please, we have a special VVIP booth and an exclusive chef waiting for you."

Jason walked past with a faint smirk. "Took you long enough."

The manager waited until Jason was out of earshot, then turned on the receptionist. "You fool! Didn't I give you a list of VVIPs to allow in instantly? Every Anderson is on it!"

"I'm sorry, sir, I didn't—"

"There won't be another time. Anderson just bought the place."

"What? But this is my—"

"Get out."

...

"So… even you do this kind of stuff, eh? Interesting…" came a voice from the entrance of Jason's VVIP special booth. She was wearing a beautiful red dress that accentuated every aspect of her figure, the deep V-line at the back running all the way down to her tailbone. Elegant, decorative sleeves framed her toned arms, and her muscles seemed to gleam in the soft light.

Jason turned to face her, then stood up and gestured to the chair opposite him."My lady… wow… you are incredibly beautiful. Truly, a demi-goddess," he said with a playful smirk before sitting back down.

"Did you have to pull that stunt? I saw a manager kicking out a receptionist… I thought only Wayne did things like that," she replied, stepping inside.

"Oh? Did he? Well, I didn't exactly think the receptionist should be fired—he was just doing his job. But… he was also getting in the way of me gazing upon your magnificent beauty," Jason replied smoothly.

"Enough flattery already… you're a young teen, you'll find much better. I want to know why I'm here."

"Not until you have a taste of home," Jason said, clapping his hands. A chef entered, carrying a variety of Mediterranean dishes—the kind Diana clearly favored.

"Shall we?" he asked.

The two began eating, slipping into small talk between bites.

..

After a while, the plates were cleared away and only wine remained.

"So… I truly do enjoy recreating my home through this place and its food," Diana said, swirling the wine in her glass. "But you still haven't answered why I'm here… Anderson."

Jason took a slow sip of wine, then met her eyes."Fine. Looks like I've wasted enough of your time. To tell you the truth… this isn't confirmed yet, but it's probably going to happen."

He leaned in slightly."Congress will vote on the Cursed Ones becoming official. Fully official. Across the entirety of America."

Diana sipped her glass and set it down, her gaze sharpening."I would congratulate you, but I'm not a fan of your team. So why are you telling me this?"

"Because, Diana… I need someone like you. I need you in my team."

Before he could continue, she slammed her hand onto the table, the wood groaning under the force—though she held back enough to avoid breaking it."Are you insinuating I betray my comrades?"

"No. That's not what I said," Jason replied calmly.

"That's what I heard," she shot back.

Jason exhaled, then leaned back."Look… I'll be frank with you. Answer me honestly: how do you think the Cursed Ones function?"

"You kill villains the government deems irredeemable," she replied.

"And who decides that?"

"The government."

"Wrong." Jason's voice cut through the air. "It's me. Every kill the Cursed Ones have carried out—it was always me. I found the villain, I collected the evidence, I did the research. The government just stamped the approval, and then I made the call."

Diana's eyes narrowed, but she stayed silent.

"All of it rests on my judgment," he continued. "I'm no god. But I believe I can make the right choice over and over again. Every kill I've made, or ordered, was to prevent future bloodshed and avenge past victims."

He took another slow sip of wine."But America is too large. Too many villains. Too many threats. Even I can't judge them all."

Her eyes locked onto his. "What are you getting at?"

"Diana… I think your judgment is the equal of mine. Unlike the idealistic man of hope, or the one who fears his own darkness, you have what it takes. Because you are a warrior."

Jason's tone lowered, deliberate."Unlike them, you know some people are pure evil. Irredeemable. Trash that will never change. You've seen it. You've lived through it. You know humanity isn't some perfect thing that can be fixed with a jail cell and goodwill. Some of them don't deserve a second chance… and out of the Big Three, you're the only one I'd trust to make that call."

In the back of her mind, memories stirred—World War II, the massacres, the burning villages, the soldiers who butchered without mercy. The screams. The cruelty. She'd seen men who were beyond redemption… on both sides.

And part of her agreed with him.

But still—why him? Who was he to claim such certainty? How could she trust he wouldn't abuse that power?

Jason stood, placing his glass down."What I do is for the sake of the helpless. For those forced to watch killers walk free to kill again. For victims who watch their abusers walk out of prison to hurt someone else. I fight for them. I believe in myself—not because I'm perfect, but because I have nothing to gain from this. I was born rich, I'll live rich, I'll die rich. I could ignore it all if I wanted… but I won't.

Because I believe a person should pay the price for their actions.

I surround myself with people I can trust—either to share my judgment, or to challenge it if I'm wrong. I don't kill all villains. Only those who truly wish harm upon humanity itself."

He turned toward the exit."If you ever want to accept my offer… you'll know how to find me."

And with that, he walked away, leaving Diana alone with her thoughts.
