Flashes from dozens of cameras lit up the small stage as reporters crowded forward, their voices overlapping in a chaotic storm of questions.

"Mr. Anderson, do you think you are a threat to the League's monopoly on heroic work, and that's why Superman attacked you?""Mr. Anderson, are you stronger than Superman? Did Superman surrender to you?""Will you call for the abolishment of the League?""Mr. Anderson, rumors say Lex Luthor—a known critic of Superman—was behind what happened. People also say his recent death is linked to the League!"

Jason stood calmly behind the podium, the corner of his mouth curling into a small, disarming smile. He raised both hands slightly, as if asking the crowd to slow down.

"Now, now, let's not get ahead of ourselves, people. No, the League does not think we are a threat. Superman was mind-controlled. The official statement by the League is accurate—I just helped them get rid of the mind control."

The reporters' murmurs quieted as his voice carried clearly over the microphones.

"I don't think I'm stronger than Superman. I was just lucky and smart. Superman is a great hero; he deserves respect for all the good work he and the League do. Our misunderstandings are about how to handle criminals, but we both have a common goal—eliminate crime and make the world a better place."

He shifted his stance slightly, his gaze sweeping the crowd before locking on one of the cameras.

"I have no clue about what happened with Lex Luthor, or what his connection is to the mind control. But in my own personal opinion, it wouldn't surprise me if it was him who did it. Everyone knows Lex is a criminal and a bad person. We all hide it because we don't have evidence—me included. So my official statement is: my condolences to Luthor's family. Personally though? I don't care."

Jason stepped back from the podium, giving the crowd a casual wave.

"Now, good night people. I have places to be."

With that, he turned and walked offstage, leaving the media shouting after him, desperate for more answers he had no intention of giving.

...

The long oak dining table gleamed under the warm chandelier light. Jason sat near the center, his eyes scanning the familiar faces of his family—smiles everywhere, the kind that only came when everyone knew they'd won.

"In less than three months, your team's actions have cut Gotham's crime rate by sixty-four percent," Dominic said, leaning back in his chair with pride. "And now, with the League's embarrassment and what happened with Superman, the Cursed Ones' approval rating is at an all-time high. Our companies are booming, our stocks climbing. Jason… well done, son. I'm very proud of you. I always knew you were special."

Jason met his father's gaze and gave a faint smile.

"Sheesh… though, Jason," Alessandro added with a smirk, "didn't know you were that cunning, lil' bro. That thing with Val? Wicked stuff."

Sofia, the only pacifist in the family, exhaled sharply. "Sigh. I had hoped you'd be more like me… but I guess an Anderson will always be an Anderson."

Marco, the eldest brother and the family's legitimate businessman, tapped a finger on the table. "Now that I think about it… how did you convince Luthor to trust you? I never thought that man could be tricked."

Jason leaned back in his chair. "Honestly, if it had been a business deal or anything else, we'd have failed. Lex is a monster in that arena. But deep down, he's blinded by his hatred for Superman—by his sense of inferiority. He's a firm believer that humans should handle their own problems and has always despised the Man of Steel.

"So… I gave him Superman. I promised him the real identity, in exchange for not killing him outright. Instead, he'd try to mind-control him. Lex was suspicious, but I spun it: told him the Cursed Ones needed a reputation boost. Once we humiliated Superman, Lex could kill him. When my intel proved true, Lex thought we shared the same ideals."

Val cut in with a cold smile. "Lex was a fool blinded by hatred. To the very end, he wanted Superman dead, even if he had to play the villain. We just took advantage of that."

Alessandro chuckled. "Yeah… you're a crazy one, Sis. You and Jason are supposed to be the soft, young ones—yet you're more ruthless than me and Dad."

Dominic ignored the banter and continued, "Well, nonetheless, your plan worked. And now… Congress is pushing for a vote. The Cursed Ones—across all of America."

Jason froze. "What? Wasn't the deal just for a one-year trial in Gotham?"

"That was the original deal," Dominic confirmed. "But a sixty percent drop in crime and a win over the Justice League? You've built a reputation. Now America wants you to save it."

Jason rubbed his temple. "Hmm… that's not very ideal."

"Why not? Wasn't that the plan from the start?" Marco asked.

"Yes, but this is too soon," Jason said. "My team's only me and four others. A city is manageable. The entire country? No. I need more recruits. The plan was to slowly break the League's reputation and take some of their members. But while the League's popularity dropped, the Big Three—Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman—are still untouchable. I'm stuck with weak heroes and ex-criminals."

Alessandro leaned forward with a sly grin. "Well… I guess it's time for the older brother to shine."

Jason raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"Advice, little one. If a team has more than one figurehead—like the League—then the weakness lies in all figureheads. Make one turn, fall, or break… and the entire team will fracture."

Jason's expression was puzzled, until Sofia's calm voice cut in. "It's Wonder Woman, Jason."

Jason blinked. "…Wonder Woman?"

"Yes," Sofia said. "Unlike the others, she doesn't hide behind a secret identity. We know exactly where she's from—an island of warriors. Warriors kill. She may have adapted to the modern world, but she was born to kill. All you have to do… is persuade her."

Jason's eyes widened. The implications sank in. If Wonder Woman turned… the League wouldn't collapse completely, but cracks would spread. Many members might choose his ideals over the old guard.

A slow smile formed on his lips. "Looks like I still have a lot to learn from you, brothers and sisters. Thank you for the advice… I'll take it to heart."

A plan was already taking shape in his mind.
