Synopsis
Sophia de Santos gave up everything for love. She had thought marrying Alexander Reins would be the start of her forever. Instead, it became her ruin. Because not only was her dreams, her freedom, her future all gone with the wind.
Also, on the day she was meant to share the joy of their unborn child, Alexander handed her divorce papers, and with them, the truth that she was nothing more than a placeholder, a shadow of the woman he truly loved.
And when fate struck her down, leaving her broken and bleeding, he ran to that woman. Not once did he look back.
But death did not take her.
Instead, something else found her.
In the darkest hour of her life, a stranger appeared, a man with eyes like obsidian fire and a smile that whispered temptation. Xander Nightshade offered her a contract marriage. No strings, no questions. Just salvation in the shape of a deal.
Desperate and hollowed by betrayal, Sophia agreed.
But Xander Nightshade was no ordinary man.
His presence made her skin prickle. His words felt like spells. And his touch? A brand she couldn’t forget.
She thought she was running from heartbreak… But she was falling into the arms of something far more dangerous. Because the man who saved her isn’t just powerful. He isn’t just mysterious.
He is the devil himself. And he just made her his.
Excerpt
“You’re trembling,” he said, his hand just hovering next to my cheek, almost close enough to touch. “Are you afraid of me, Sophia?”
I wanted to lie. I wanted to say yes, to give him the answer he probably wanted. But when I opened my mouth, the words that came out were softer than I expected, breathless.
“No. I’m afraid of how much I’m not.”
His eyes locked onto mine, dark and endless, like something dangerous but also... Strangely inviting like moth to flames.
There was a twist to his lips, not quite a smile, but something that sent a shiver down my spine. Amusement? No, it was hunger.
“You should be,” he said.
But then, in that moment, I kissed the devil.
And in the morning, I didn’t care anymore if I’d already sold my soul because if this man is fire, I've already been consumed.
Burned.
